After nine years of being proud to be 'Skint', Albion will have a new shirt sponsor from next season - but not before the club pays tribute to its longest-ever shirt sponsor with a special commemorative shirt which will be worn by the team in the final fixture of the season against Swansea City this weekend.

Chairman Dick Knight has commissioned the special one-off design featuring the three different Skint logos which have adorned Albion shirts over the years, to mark the end of the deal with the Brighton-based record company in style. Skint will retain their links with the club and it is planned that a limited number of the special shirts will be available for sale to Albion fans, personally signed by DJ Norman Cook, aka Fatboy Slim.

Knight said, "The Skint name has been on the Albion shirt for longer than any other sponsorship in the Football League, and has become an iconic symbol of the club. The message 'Team Mates 1999-2008' on the commemorative shirt says just how we feel about what great sponsors they have been.

"It's the end of an era and on behalf of all Albion fans I would like to thank Skint Records, Norman, Damien, JC, Andy and everyone at the company for their sponsorship and support ever since we moved back to Withdean. Skint will always be great friends of the Albion."

Albion are in advanced talks with three companies ahead of next season, and expect to announce their new shirt sponsors shortly. Knight added, "We have three strong contenders and we expect to finalise a deal soon."

not true. Wirral has adorned Tranmere shirts since at least 1989.

Nice shirt. Very similar to the old Zamora era shirt circa 2001. A simple idea done well. None of this rubbish with a big blue panel on the back.
