Austria Wien unveiled their new 2008-2009 home football kit made by Nike, who bring a legendary Austria Wien shirt from the golden 80's back to Vienna. After the great success (with more than 6,000 jerseys sold in 2 years) of the recent past, this purple and white retro style jersey is based on the shirts used in the 80's.

Due to the unique, almost all purple design (with purple shorts and purple socks), it will be that the team will play almost all games in the coming 08/09 season, (both home as well as away) in Violet shorts. Austria Wien were founded in Vienna on March 12, 1911 as the Wiener Amateur Sportvereinigung by players and officials of the Vienna Cricket- and Football- Club taking violet and white as the new club's colours. The team claimed its first championship title in 1924. Amateure changed their name to Austria in 1926 as the former amateurs had become professionals.

algeria-le-coq-sportif-home-shirt-08-09.jpg

These are the Algeria national team home and away football shirts made by Le Coq Sportif for the 2008/2009 season.

The Algerian national team was formed in clandestine circumstances in 1958 when Mohamed Boumezrag, a leader of a section of the Front de Libération Nationale (FLN) of Algeria based in metropolitan France, returned from the 1957 World Youth Festival. Using the contacts he had made during the tournament, Boumezrag recruited ten of the best-known French-based Algerian professional players to secretly leave the country and go to Tunisia where the Algerian national team was formally established on April 13.

The world football governing body FIFA later announced after protest from the French Football Federation, that any team that played the Algerians would be expelled from the World Cup, while the French government succeeded in arresting other players who tried to leave the country to join the team. Despite these obstacles, the Algerian FLN team played 91 matches over the next four years and helped win international recognition for the Algerian struggle for independence.

osasuna-08-09-diadora-home-kit-shirt.jpg

Diadora signed a five-years sponsorship agreement with Osasuna and presented the home jersey that Osasuna is going to wear in the 2008/09 season and which colours are those dear to the team, respecting their tradition, red and blue. The away and third jerseys together with the merchandising equipment will be presented in July.

The new Diadora kit especially developed for the Spanish team mirrors Diadora’s idea of innovation and style as a winning recipe for success and is the result of the Gamma project: designed like two gammas meeting and complementing each-other, this is the very first project that embraces both uniforms and accessories, from ball to shin-guards, from boots to keeper’s gloves, a total look that speaks of study and development.
