Bristol Rovers have revealed designs for a special 125th anniversary strip to be released later in the season.

The Pirates celebrate 125 years of football this coming season, having been formed in 1883.

The kit will be launched in early October, and online pre-orders will be taken from around the middle of September.

A number of other items will also be released to mark the landmark date in Rovers' history, including Black Arab scarves, mugs, t-shirts and polo shirts.

The strip will be registered as the club's official third kit for 2008/09, and it will be worn in one first team fixture in either late November or early December.

Further details on other special events to mark the anniversary will be announced over the coming weeks and months.

Partick Thistle and Greaves Sports  unveiled the club’s new pink and grey hooped 08/09 Puma away kit – a first for Scottish football – which will debut when worn by the players against Forfar on Tuesday evening.

The strip is the first ever pink jersey in Scottish club football and was chosen by the club and Greaves Sports to help set the Jags apart from their rivals.

European teams such as Benfica, Palermo and Juventus have all worn pink strips in recent years but, Scotland’s Rosebery strip aside, the trend to ‘think pink’ has yet to hit these shores.

Club Brugge played in a new Cup outfit in the friendly match against Lille. In collaboration with sponsor PUMA, there's been a special chocolate brown outfit designed in honour of the 40th birthday of PUMA's oldest football boot, the PUMA King.

The anniversary of the PUMA King football boot is celebrated with 8 Puma sponsored clubs in Europe, including Club Brugge. Next to the kits each team has a special collection of extensive fan wear.

Each garment has two stripes, inspired by Johan Cruyff. During the World Cup of 1974 Cruyff wore Puma football boots and refused to wear the Adidas 3-stripe on his kit because of his sponsorship deal with puma. Cruyff ended up playing with 2 stripes on his shoulders that tournament.

Club Brugge also have the new 08/09 home and away kits made by Puma available in their shop

Linfield and Lucy Evangilista launched the new home kit for the 08/09 season made by Umbro.

On closer inspection of the picture you will see that actually the shirt has been ripped to allow for a more ‘sultry’ shot of Miss Evangelista.

And it seems that once the Linfield bosses saw this and a few other artfully ripped-shirt shots they had them withdrawn from public perusal. In reports the photographs are described as ‘provocative’.

One of the pictures shows former Miss Northern Ireland Lucy Evangelista lying on her back with the club colours covering only her cleavage as her midrift is fully exposed. The sultry shot is believed to be one of six removed by the club from the website following complaints.

Linfield Football Club was remaining tight-lipped over claims 'sexually provocative' pictures had been placed on their official website.

Cardiff City launched the new 08/09 Home kit made by Joma during the Vansdirect trophy match against Ajax.

The last year at Ninian Park is set to be a very historic occasion for many reasons as another chapter closes in the book of Cardiff City, with a new exciting one about to be born.

To commemorate this and in line with two of its greatest achievements, the new 2008/09 official home shirt will be a mixture of old and new with the influence of the 1970's colours.
