Cardiff City launched the new 08/09 Home kit made by Joma during the Vansdirect trophy match against Ajax.

The last year at Ninian Park is set to be a very historic occasion for many reasons as another chapter closes in the book of Cardiff City, with a new exciting one about to be born.

To commemorate this and in line with two of its greatest achievements, the new 2008/09 official home shirt will be a mixture of old and new with the influence of the 1970's colours.

They have adopted the 2008 away shirt that was worn so proudly at Wembley in the F.A. Cup final in May, with the original blue colour that was worn in the 1927 F.A. Cup final.

With the Ambassadors choosing the 1970's influence, the final decision was made to keep the yellow strips in the similar style of the old retro kit to complete the magnificent looking replica shirt.

It\'s basically last season\'s away shirt but with blue instead of black, and Getafe wore an identical shirt in last season\'s Copa Del Rey final.

How very original Joma!

I like the shirt...4/5
Love the older badge.
Like the distressed colors.
Appreciate the nod toward the \'Tony Evans\' era...although, I\'d prefer the white and gold sash down the chest, rather than the arm.
Is the \"Ninian Park\" homage banded around the bottom helm?
If so, are these to be worn undone, a la Queen\'s Park Spiders (SFL)?

It looks like a truly wonderful shirt, but I can\'t judge it properly until I see a better photo. Here it looks oddly wrinkled and tinted.

Can\'t help but notice it looks like Derby County\'s away strip when they were with Joma. Got the Derby shirt in the wardrobe, took it out and compared. Likeness is uncanny. Glad Derby are with Adidas now, at least its slightly more creative than using the same template over. I\'d be dissapointed if i were a Cardiff Fan.

Are Cardiff Having The Names And Numbers On The Back Of The Shirts This Season ? Or Are They Just Having The Numbers ? Like They Did In The 70\'s.

to those that have drawn comparisons to Derby\'s shirt, you\'re reaching for something that isn\'t there. Perhaps the colors can be said to be exact, but certainly the shirt itself and the design does not look \'exactly the same\'.

Really like that shade of blue, and the combination with yellow and white looks very nice. I think is a very nice shirt.
