Derby County’s new 08/09 away Adidas kit was revealed to the public for the first time as part of Green Day - at the Carling Cup clash with Lincoln City.
Young professionals Mark Dudley, Paris Simmons, Mitch Hanson and Aleksandar Prijovic paraded the vibrant lime-green outfit at half-time against the Imps and it was well-received by the Pride Park crowd.
Along with the teams home shirt, the away shirt will carry the name of sponsors the Greenbank Group on the back.
The green shirts were being launched as part of a Green Day to promote environmental awareness at the club and involve such innovations as players arriving at the ground in Toyota Hybrid cars, and the evening's edition of The Ram being printed on recycled paper.
Charles Conroy, Managing Director of the Greenbank Group, said: "We are thrilled to be associated with Derby County in raising awareness of environmental issues - this is a key theme of Greenbank's business, both internally and in the expertise and products we promote to our customers.
"2008 has been a trophy year for the group and sponsorship of Derby County allows us to further build upon our success and demonstrate the pride we have in our Derbyshire business and workforce."
With UK headquarters based in Woodville, the Greenbank Group combines years of traditional engineering expertise with pioneering new technology to deliver efficiency improvements at large coal-fired power generating plants.
Mr Conroy added: "We encourage all our staff to look for ways to reduce or recycle waste.
"This includes having segregated waste collection points all around our offices and factory and, where possible, we promote the use of local suppliers to minimise carbon footprint.
"We encourage all football supporters to reflect on this and if we can inspire just a few changes to benefit the environment we will feel vindicated in our effort. "
Tom Glick, President and CEO of Derby County, said: "As this Green Day event at the club highlights, Derby County Football Club is an organisation that recognises the importance of addressing environmental issues that affect us all.
"We are proud to be partners with the Greenbank Group, whose commitment to developing products which contribute to improving the performance of power generation demonstrates the significant contribution being made by local Derbyshire people in tackling such a worldwide concern."

And like most have said what is the sponsor doing in white? i think their players name and numbers are better off white too. And you expect Derby to play in that green, i guess a 3rd kit is com\'in out, since they are playing in white.
First we had electric Yellow, now lime Green, then what? hot Pink?
blatant copy of chelsea away last season
and you cant see the sponsor
i dont like the way that adidas use exactly the same templates for all their kits.
i wud give this kit 2 outta 5
Come to think of it Adidas is getting cheap. In Euro 2008, they made Casillas(+Reina) wear the new GK kit (grey one) for the group matches. then when they wear in the KO stages, he had to wear the old GK kit which was the snaky design, which Derby is now using.
At least now fans will look hard for the sponsor then watching the match itself, cuz it will be very depressing watch them.
Sorry Derby, it\'s not original anymore.
will hardly provide money through shirt sales !!
how is it a coppy of chelsea ? adidas made both of the shirts, and ours is slightly different coloured to chelsea\'s theres was \"electric\" yellow, whereas ours is flouresent green.
