Adidas and Fluminense presented the new home, away and goalkeeper shirts for the 2008-2009 season. The partnership with adidas has lasted 12 years and the new kits maintain the traditional colours of the club. The event happened in the Cultural Center de Ação da Cidadania.

Besides the match kits, adidas launched the new training equipment in gray with details in orange. The new collection of Fluminense adidas shirts are available in stores in major sports stores in Brazil.

Fluminense Football Club was founded on July 21, 1902. Oscar Cox introduced football to Rio. He played in Switzerland during his studies in Lausanne. When he returned to Rio, aged 22, he gathered a group of men who also wanted to play this as-yet relatively unknown sport.

After playing some matches in Rio and in São Paulo, they decided to found a club. The foundation meeting took place on 21 July 1902, at the home of Horácio da Costa Santos on Rua Marques de Abrantes 51. Oscar Cox was elected the first president. Fans are called "tricolores", a reference to the team's three colours (claret, white and green).

Does the Unimed logo on the back of the shirt stay there? Is there room for the player\'s names to go underneath? Anyway, it\'s a great shirt. Nice strong, broad stripes. I\'ll look forward to when Adidas drops their logo from the centre of their shirts.

Yes the name would be underneath the number. I noticed on Fluminense\'s previous shirt they had the sponsor on the top them the number then the name.

Adidas do the Fluminese kits well at all/most times(As with River Plate) the kits themselves are smart-allthough not stunning the 2004 kits ( like the Argentina/AC Milan only with burgendy, green and white) but smart allthough in all fairness with the colour combination they have it would be difficult to screw it up.
The sponcvers are unfortunatly a reflection of South American Footie needing the money \' by any means possible\' I noticed that Boca juniors are sponcered up to their eyeballs.

I\'ve always loved their home shirts. Shame about the sleeve and back ads

In Brazil, the teams do not use names of players in Jersey.

Only in America\'s Cup liberators.
