Racing club de Lens 2008/09 Home and Away Nike kits
These are the new Racing club de Lens 08/09 home and away kits made by Nike. After several changes of shirts during the first years of the club, at the end of the year 1923, the Racing club de Lens adopted the red and yellow colours.
One evening, while on a meeting, managers and players of the club went past the ruins of St Leger church of Lens. One of them noticedthat the ruins of the Saint-Léger church they happened to be walking by that night were the last remains of the Spanish occupation in 1648. Red and yellow colours appealed immediately to the president of that time, René Moglia. Players cure the blood and the gold shirts for the first time in 1924, during the opening of the stadium. The club's nickname, sang et or (literally, 'blood and gold'), comes from its traditional colours of red and gold.

Would you buy this if it was just a t shirt .. i dont think so.. ?
Always a big fan of Nike\'s designs
but now with the chess style, we can say to have seen RC Lens wearing all kind of kits: hoops, stripes, halves, red with yellow sleeves,golden with red trims.. maybe next year we will see an Ajax or a River Plate style shirt ?..maybe it\'s too much

Don\'t know if Croatia can get upset about the fact someone has nicked their kit design(including v-neck and away kit, and socks) but it is ok.
It is interesting that they haven\'t settled on 1 special look for their kits, every year is a new design in the literal sence as opposed to a re-interpretation of the same design-Ajax have done this since their adidas move. But I don\'t quiet know how they manage to get away with no sponcers when most French clubs have 7000 sponcers on their shirts.
I wasn7t talking about monopoly on chess-board sample, but these shirt are with same design as Croatian: same collars, same size of checks, same position, sam socks... It`s the same shirt, just another colour!

But Croatia does not use it as they invented it, it\'s their symbol. Red-white chequers are Croatia\'s symbol, you can see it on the country\'s flag. And this is just the same as Croatian kit, every inch is the same.
Then imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.I\'ve always liked Croatia\'s jersey.Surely there is an implied compliment in Lens use of the same design.I\'m also aware that the red and white chequers are an integral part of the club badges of teams like Hajduk Split and Dynamo Zagreb and probably other Croatian clubs I\'m not aware of.I still like the new Lens jerseys.
