Chelsea FC have unveiled their new 08-09 home football kit made by Adidas.

Chelsea FC have unveiled their new 08-09 home football kit made by Adidas. Leaked pictures are around for months, but now it's official.

Chelsea have always worn blue shirts, although they initially adopted a lighter shade than the current version, and unlike today wore white shorts and dark blue socks. The lighter blue was taken from the racing colours of then club president, Earl Cadogan. The light blue shirts were short-lived, however, and replaced by a royal blue version.

guys the cut off adidas stripes is obviously for the premiership and champions league and any other cup patches on the sleeves. i think it will look better with them on, yet that doesnt help the fans that wont want to buy the patches for the sleeves. oh well

They should have that lion in the back of the shirt like the keeper one. Would be a nice detail.

Oh, God.. is that shirt supposed to be shiney? Collars are usually ok on shirts, but I don\'t care for the \'Y\' neck. This shirt looks better as a long-sleeved version. The new \'Pool long-sleeved ones are top-drawer. This coming from a Chelsea supporter.

I can say by the looks of this i prefer the current one.. but that most likely wont stop me buying this one. But i will have to see it and try it on to see what it looks like i\'m not doing that mistake again \'Chelsea current away kit\' If we win the prem this year then i am definately buying a kit this year just so i can have the golden premiership badge it\'s soo much cooler then the boring white one.

I like it except for the yellow piping...it looks like someone squirted mustard around the collar and sleeves.

now you said that I feel sorry for the designers at adidas lol

yeah, that yellow thing looks terrible.

probably it\'s a group (maybe 2-3) people (who just got out of some \"designing degree\" in some \"institute\") sitting around a desk, looking at their image renders and pointing out and agreeing one another on their ideas, commenting how wonderful it is meanwhile the board didn\'t even see the final product, but approved it and when Chelsea got the news it\'s too late (or somewhere along those lines).

That top is bogging, good luck to you Chelski wearing that, reminds me of the old Denise Wise days, Cup W*nkers Cup and all that jizz. sorry JAZZ, James Floyd HasselWaink and his minimal backlift. Still couldn\'t win a league title though, Ahhhh Vehhhhh...

I really think that the current one looks far better than this new kit.

1. lighter shade of blue looks so bad -- this is changing the whole club\'s identity. OK, with all my respect to the president\'s colours but they just chose that colour that\'s sleek looking? no way. royal blue looks so much classier.

2. collared shirt is so old school, why abandon the current one.... it now looks like a golf shirt.

3. overall it looks so bland, so plain. the torso area is just a sea of blue.

4. I\'m a Chelsea fan but I must say Liverpool\'s new kit looks better than Chelsea\'s.

5. too shiny, too plasticky

6. Keepers\' shirts\' colour is disgusting. looks like an orange-gone-bad.

7. Adidas\' designers are officially undesignables now (well not all of them I suppose).

I like the large white thick collar. It makes the players look like they have more muscle and light blue is much better and fresher looking than the ugly royal blue. Light blue is more Chelsea like i think. This is by far the best Chelsea kit ever and they wore in the Champions League final too. A big improvement on last season\'s kit.
