Flamengo unveiled their new 08/09 3rd kit made by Nike.

Flamengo unveiled their new 08/09 3rd kit made by Nike. The new 3rd shirt is made in honor of the rowing club and is divided into two parts: the lower half, in black, and on top, the red.

The shield of rowing replaces the traditional CRF crest. Players Fabio Luciano, Marcinho, Toró and Cristian, where helped by the rowing athletes of "the scarlet and black." to get to the stadium Remo Lágoa at the headquarters of the club.

Flamengo was founded on November 15, 1895 as a rowing club by José Agostinho Pereira da Cunha, Mário Spindola, Nestor de Barros, Augusto Lopes, José Félix da Cunha Meneses and Felisberto Laport.

Its alright but its rather superfluous isn\'t it? The home kit is red and black so why have a third kit in the same colour scheme?

My guess is that it\'ll be used rather sparingly.

WOW! These are really classy. Nice usage of old crest. And even when Nike comes with something new, like these collars, haters pop out of their caves and start with their redneck comments.If its not Fabio Lucianos hair, its the singapore jersey being \"gay\". And the John Aldridge comment is just so god damn dumb-ass it tires me.

Flamengo was created as a rowing club, in 1885 was the most popular sport in Rio. about 10 year later, they created a football team. That's why the name is Clube de Regatas do Flamengo (Flamengo Rowing Club)

Nike het the tradition back with this shirts, i got one =)
