Portsmouth Canterbury Away Shirt 2008/09

After Canterbury's successful away debut in the 2007/08 season, Canterbury and Portsmouth unveiled this brand new replica away shirt for the 2008-2009 season. This new shirt is ideal for the die hard fan supporting Pompey up and down the country! Portsmouth reached the FA Cup final for the first time since 1939 in 2008. It is exciting times to follow Pompey at the moment and with players such as Defoe and Kranjcar, the only way is up for Harry's boys!

The 100% white polyester shirt manufactured by Canterbury is a design with azzuri blue shoulders. At approximately 159 grams the shirt is very lightweight and comfortable. With the added unique feature of mesh side panels it allows extra ventilation. The wicking finish of the shirt utilises the quick dry properties. The 'OKI' shirt sponsor sits centrally below the v-neck collar with the Canterbury logo on the right chest and the brand new Pompey crest to the left.

Pompey fans have been looking skywards this morning as a giant shirt is being flown around the city. A helicopter trailing a 184 feet by 131 feet Portsmouth shirt courtesy of the club's sponsor OKI Printing Solutions is being pulled across the city's sky.

To celebrate both its 110th anniversary and its first appearance in an FA Cup Final since the Second World War, Portsmouth Football Club has organised the fly-past for this morning. The shirt passed by some of its most iconic landmarks including Spinnaker Tower, the Historic Dockyard, Port Solent and the club's Fratton Park Stadium.

Urgh, and Canterbury made some really nice ones last season too.
That\'s a shame isn\'t it?

Maybe it\'s just because it\'s a Canterbury kit...but it reminds me a rugby team shirt!

As regards the crest..Yes it could be a Pompey crest,I like it

Hmmmm... White away shorts? I wonder if we are about to see an all navy blue home kit? That\'s be good. A 21st Century kit and an early 20th Century stadium to play in.

it\'s far from good looking, but at least it\'s much better than this season\'s away kit...
thing is...Canterbury has to figure out they have the ugliest logo ever and never again put it in sleeves...

I think this shirt is amazing. Canterbury retain their high standards for producing quality kit. I can\'t wait to get one for my holidays. Shizzle ma dizzle.

I\'m not too sure what to think. I only hope it doesn\'t ruin the home kit, as I really liked the blue, white and red. If the club is going all \"110 years old crazy\", lets just hope they don\'t have a salmon pink third shirt!

I disagree. I really like the new crest but the new away shirt isn\'t a patch on this season\'s.

The kits from 07/08 are way too much for my taste, so this is an acceptable compromise.

Not feeling the 3-d on the new crest, but thats for a different thread.
