This is the new Northampton Town home kit for 2008/2009 as modelled by Colin Larkin. On the 6th March 1897 a group of school teachers and a prominent local solicitor resolved to form a professional association football club to be called Northampton FC.

After objections from Northampton Rugby Club, it was decided to adopt the name Northampton Town instead. After two seasons in the Northamptonshire League, the club moved up to the Midlands League and adopted the municipal claret and white colours, a combination unique to the club. In 1901, the Cobblers (so named because the town was the centre of the boot and shoe manufacturing industry) joined the Southern League.

The new shirt will retail at £40 for adults and £30 for juniors with a 10% discount for season ticket holders on production of proof of season ticket status. Sales will begin both on line at the cobblers-shop and from the club shop at Sixfields at 10am on Thursday June 26th.

I like the shirt especially because they use maroon as the color but the yellow stripes for each side are useless

Just one thing - couldn\'t you have made the FSC logo a bit bigger in that image?

I like it as a Nothampton kit goes- nice yello piping, smart neckline not too intrusive! And asymetrical arm
stripes. By the way- did Northampton play in all white with 2 hoops in marroon back in the Phil Neal days
of the heady 70s\'?And was that a home kit or an away kit?

I love the fact they\'ve put some Amber in there in honour of East Anglia\'s finest team, but it doesn\'t work in the slightest.

Poor kit.
