Peterborough United revealed the three new adidas shirts that will be worn during the 2008-2009 season.

Peterborough United revealed the three new adidas shirts that will be worn during the 2008-2009 season.

Peterborough United agreed a deal for the 2008-2009 season with adidas, the world's leading sports brand. The Posh have entered into a three-year agreement with adidas to supply team and staff kit and branded merchandise, including replica kit, for sale through the Peterborough United Club Shop and online at the official website.

Peterborough United chairman Darragh MacAnthony said: 'Peterborough United Football Club is a progressive club who are moving towards the top of the football pyramid. With this in mind, we are pleased to announce that we have entered into an agreement with adidas to form a partnership that will grow from strength to strength.

'I have had a conversation with the three Supporters' Groups and informed them of my decision and we will be working closely with them to make this unforeseen change an easy and fair one for our supporters. I would like to apologise for this unforeseen change and promise fans it was never our intention to change kit suppliers so soon."

Gavin Thomson, sales director, adidas area North, said: 'adidas are delighted to enter into a kit supply agreement with Peterborough United Football Club. It is an exciting period for the club and adidas are looking forward to growing a very strong mutually rewarding partnership as Peterborough progress through the leagues.'

It is anticipated that next season's Posh replica strip, made by adidas, will be available at the PUFC shop before the end of the current campaign.

Ah a lower division club with an adidas kit, it\'s something good. Mind, these are three well-worn templates: the home shirt is the strange vice thing that a couple of teams have for their away kits at the moment; the black shirt is the current Derby away shirt (itself a three-year-old template); and the green one is a Panathinaikos classic circa 2000 isn\'t it? Still, better than some of the monstrosities we see from Vandanel and Lotto these days.

The third kit is the brand new template that Nigeria, T&T, Finland and some other countries are wearing now.

Apparently Posh are going to have a unique home strip the season after next, but as this deal was only signed a couple of months ago the first kits being produced by adidas will be \'off the peg\'.

I\'m looking forward to seeing the whole third strip, as its going to have white shorts and black socks like our first ever kit.

aparrently derby\'s kits this season have been \'off the peg\' as the deal was anounced quite late. We\'re getting new home and away kits for next season.

I don\'t care if that home shirt has an old template. It\'s as cool as youknowwhat. You seen this season\'s Marseille \"international\" shirt? It pains me that, as usual, they\'re gonna get a new three next season.

haha, \'Adidas with a bad team\'

You boys don\'t know, posh are brilliant. They played West Ham last week and played good enough football to be a premiership side. They have Man utd tonight, and i\'m sure they\'ll get on well good.
