Following the unprecedented success of last season’s 2007/08 pink Everton shirts, the club and umbro produced a new 2008/09 limited edition pink Everton football shirt which will be available in November.

A contribution from each kit purchased will be made to the Breast Cancer Campaign and Everton’s nominated charities for 2008/09 – The NSPCC and Everton in The Community (EITC).

Last season the Blues raised cash for the Breast Cancer Campaign through the sale of the shirts as part of the Club’s highly successful Ladies Day campaign.

“Last season was a hugely successful campaign but this time around we want to make a bigger splash with our fundraising efforts," said Ian Ross, Head of PR at Everton.

"The launch of the new pink shirt gives us the opportunity to give something back to the community and hopefully make a difference to the work these charities undertake on a daily basis.

“We have received hundreds of enquiries about the shirts already and hopefully the new edition will prove to be as popular with Evertonians as last time around.”

Everton are set to raise in excess of £75,000 for charity with the re-launch of the official pink replica shirt.

Telephone pre-orders on 0870 005 2300 can be made NOW and pre-orders can be made by visiting the two Everton stores at Goodison Park or Birkenhead. Limited numbers will be available and a limit to two shirts per customer. Shirts are priced at £44.99 for adults and £34.99 for juniors with a £5 deposit per shirt required.

No they wont ever play in it, it is just to mark their support for Breast Cancer and NSPCC etc!!

I think it\'s a really good idea that Everton do this, and I\'m sure female Everton fans will love this shirt....

Basically all sports teams here in the US produce pink shirts for girls to buy, I really like the raise money for breast cancer angle. I think all teams in the PL should do this.

The US Women\'s National Team wore pink jerseys during breast cancer awareness weekend in 2007. site.ussoccerstore.net/product_images/images_500x500/US00W11290710.jpg

Another thing that happens during that weekend is that many baseball players use pink bats along with pink wristbands and then auction them off after the game on the league website. losangeles.dodgers.mlb.com/images/2006/05/13/rh4MsLEC.jpg

At least the Everton ladies team could wear them for a match or the guys could wear special made pink boots and have them auctioned off.

yeah the charity apspect is cool...

but i dont like the development, producing pink fan merchandise for ladies. some teams a producing pink scarfes or beanies as well, in germany too. what the hell.... if you go to the stadium you should support your team AND HIS COLOURS. what the hell...
if you are not a palermo fan leave your pink stuff at home and go to the matches in the colours of your team! damn.... censoredin` sell out.

they went like wildfire last season, you only have to look on eBay even now to see how much money they go for (around 150GBP a shirt). a bit gimmicky but nonetheless a good cause

hope we dont play in it though, its not that good

No, I think it is an excellent idea, because it is raising awarness of a very very good cause, also the design is smart enough and yes Everton ladies can wear it as an away strip. Also with Barca and Villa being sponcered by charities, amybe, finally footie is coming around tom the idea of care in the community applies to them as well. I can\'t see Liverpool having a pink away shirt( think of the clash with red teams etc, but they could have a strip with pink trimmings etc or dump Carlsbergf( Crap Lager- never a cool brand) and get sponcered by a charity when the current contract runs out-only another five or so years to go!

An (old-ish) Evertonian I know says in the early 70s Evertonians used to refer to Liverpool as the \'pinks\'. This is because their red shirts used to have a faded look towards the end of the season back then - in the days before Dri-Fit technology or what have you.
