The new Rochdale 2008-09 kit was unveiled in the club shop for fans to look at, feel and of course purchase. Rochdale's new home colours are black and blue shirts, white shorts and blue socks, which is a totally new kit introduced for the 08/09 season. Bigger picture here.
Previously, Dale's usual colours were all-blue , which was introduced in 1949 - previous to this, Rochdale wore black and white stripes, which was influenced by the strong Newcastle United side of 1907 (the year Rochdale were formed). This black and white kit was re-introduced in the 07/08 season as the one-off centenary kit ; the new Internazionale-influenced design is an amalgamation of both the striped kit and the blue kit to herald the second century of Dale's existence.
Other kits have included white shirts with black shorts, white shirts with blue shorts and a blue shirt with white sleeves. Current Rochdale kits and training gear are manufactured by Nike.
The Dale have had sponsored shirts since 1983, the most notable sponsor being Carcraft. They are currently sponsored by MMC Estates, a housing company that currently is working in the Spodden Valley area. Other former sponsors include All-in-One Garden Centre, Smith Metals, Carcraft and Keytech.
As an incentive anyone purchasing the shirt by pre order or on the day will receive a raffle ticket to win a totally unique piece of Dale memoribilia. The prize on offer is the giant banner that dropped from the Coca-Cola airship during the build up to the final at Wembley.

UP THE DALE!
bah..I agree with poly
This templat was cool 2 years ago...now it\'s too much!
However I do like this design and I love the colours, this is a chance for us to establish ourselves with unique colours in English football.
All the best from a Stockport County fan
Bold move to change the clubs colours, I hope it\'s a permenent move as it\'d add a bit more uniqueness to a set of Manchester clubs who uniformly play in blue & white.
Good on them. 5/5 from me.
Agree with Jon. Chance to have a unique kit in Eglish football.
Up the Dale
Firstly, I seriously doubt there are many football fans, especially Rochdale and those in the lower leagues, that are too bothered about the template being a couple of years old.
Secondly it\'s nike, nike will never personalise kits for lower league teams, that\'s why other manufacturers such as Le Coq for Manchester City for example are decent, as nobody had the same template.
Thirdly, for Rochdale, I think this is a decent shirt. Smart colours and looks much better than Black and White.
Personally, I think nike are a poor kit manufacturer for lower league teams as they all have more or less the same shirt. Same goes for addidas or Reebok. Look at Derby\'s shirts last season, no effort from addidas. Look at West Ham away shirt from 2006-07 and compare it with Manchester City;s away from 2006-07.
