scotland_08_10_diadora_home_kit.jpg

This is the new Scotland home 08/10 home kit made by Diadora. The kit has been revealed to the national press at Stirling Castle.

The new Home kit is a true combination of the latest in performance garment technology, Scottish football tradition and Italian styling and will be worn by the team for the first time against Northern Ireland on the 20th August 2008 at Hampden Park.

Fabio Malipiero, European Sales Director Diadora UK commented,
“The partnership between the Scottish F.A. and Diadora has grown with each new kit produced for the national team utilising all of our design, technologies and expertise in the technical apparel business which has seen, in our opinion some of the greatest kits produced in the modern game. Following the near qualification in the recent European Championships and previous success of the Home, Away and 3rd kits we’ve had a challenge to produce a product suitable for the Players, staff and fans alike to a level to which they have come accustomed too and most importantly deserve, but we have!

We’ve researched the history, heritage and requirements of the team to design a new Home kit which we hope will inspire the team to great performances in the forthcoming world cup qualifying campaign and see them into the Finals in South Africa 2010.”

Scotland National Team Coach, George Burley said:
"Representing your country is one of the proudest achievements any Scottish footballer can ever hope to achieve. You can scale the heights of club football, but the feeling you get when you pull on that famous dark blue jersey is almost impossible to beat. Diadora have really done their homework with this new kit. It has all the hallmarks of the great Scotland strips of old and I know that it will help inspire the current generation of stars as we set out on the road to South Africa. The fans are going to love it."

Thanks to D. C.

This is rubbish.

last few seemed to be headin down a modern up to date strip with uni-colour strips, not back to the olden day when nobody ever showed up at Hampden or gave a toss about the team.

poor effort.

Way better than the all blue effort... in fact I think the all blue one was a ruse to boost sales of the NEXT kit... this one.

Back to tradition....

Oh, and Hartley has to be the Pikeyiest looking player in Scotland.

Is it me or does that look a lot like the current Umbro template, with the mock collar and all?

It is a nice shirt anyway, a real collar would have made the shirt nicer and more classic looking.

naysmith and hartley look like a couple of bums they have pulled off the street for a photo shoot.

I agree with what\'s his face, the shorts are the best part of the kit.

The socks look as if they\'ve been crudely lumped in from a different template (which they probably have! ). Other than that this isn\'t bad.

Hopefully though they\'re dumping the numbers that were printed on the old home strip and still on the away/3rd. Those are seriously gash.

Nice shirt, definitely seems to be a nod to the classic 70\'s Umbro shirts i.e 74 & 78 WC.

The socks are bloody awful though.

Thanks Joxcensoreds. Must really hurt to pay us all those subsidies. Setting us up nicely for the inevitable break up. Can\'t censoreding wait to be away from you chinless Nigels.

The shirt is a cracker, nicest since the \'82 World Cup, if only the socks were plain red though.....

a bit more traditional than lately - I got used to the all navy and gold kit - I still think that manufacturers experiment too much with the Scotland kit and go a wee bit daft....
...i\'d like to see an all navy with white trim as first kit, all white with red trim as a second kit and an all white with navy trim as a third choice kit....

it is good to get back to the traditional navy top, white shorts and red socks - having said that, they have made a bit of a back-side with the collar and why oh why the blue turnover on the socks, I mean how are they gonna look when hutton pulls them up over his wee cold knees.

Wonder what they\'ll come up with for the \'keeper - maybe an all yellow job with a giant scarlett lion rampant on the front of the jersey!

Bottom line is that it\'s okay!

I\'d prefer Nike to do a fairly traditional navy/white and red job

A shocker IMO, thought the last 2 kits were smart but this is up there with the pin stiped effort. And yes Diadora have copied the collar of the Umbro shirts.

Am I the only one that doesn\'t like it? I buy every kit without fail (as I\'m Scottish), but it\'s not great. Hope the away one is better.

I think white socks with blue turnover would suit the kit better.

Where\'s the GKeeper kit?

All the best in qualifying for WC SA2010.

I can live with the shirt but the socks and the shirts are just retarded. I quess diadora had only made extra large shorts at the time of the photo.

Not a bad strip, preferred the blue/gold of last year and the away strip with the flag across it...

thats not too bad, you are all right about the similarities between the umbro collars and this, but you have to realise they arent too many innovations going about at this current time

If the colar was a real one and the red socks didnt have the blue lines this would be the best scotland strip for years without a doubt

That is pants! However that is what we come to expect with the Scots. They couldnt design a stripy top for a simple nerd. just a joke. I much prefer the England one. England for South Africa, not too sure about you Scots though. Ireland will, that might be because I like to think England and Ireland are best friends.

censoreding ugly old school retro shit! will not be buying this thats for sure. blue gold kit from last year was superb everything about it. but going back to the blue, white scheme with the red socks is a joke. stupid colour scheme looks like a rangers kit! what celtic fan would buy this?

if that top had a real collar it would be \'no bad\'. But its too tight, the collars pish, the wee white flashes make it look that bit more gay and, as pointed out before, why are naysmith and hartley modelling it? if i want to see some ugly unshaven bleary-eyed pasty wank in an ill-fitting top i\'ll just looked in the mirror!

I got a retro one for £10 for going on holiday. Couldnt face the riddy of this top
