West Brom Albion have unveiled their new new home and away kits for the 2008/09 Barclays Premier League season made by Umbro.

The new home shirt offers a retro twist on the club's traditional blue-and-white-striped design and will be worn with white shorts and socks.

The Baggies have returned to yellow with navy blue detail for the away shirt, which will be worn with navy shorts and yellow socks.

They will go on sale from August 1 without a sponsors’ name. Fans buying the ‘blank’ shirts were promised a sponsors’ logo would be ‘welded’ to the shirts free at a later date.

bar the pinstripe on alongside the thick stripes on the home shirt, i actually like the two kits, the umbro diamonds on the socks looks so much better than some of the recent shirts. Lets hope that WBA stay without a sponsor as that would kill the look of the strips.

i really like the new home shirt, i think it looks mint.
The away shirt is pretty nice as well but the badge looks like its drooped down; ruining the shirt. I can\'t see why they don\'t just put the badge and umbro sign in line.

If they don\'t end up with a sponsor this will easily be the best kit next season... I\'d have even gone as far as to have the button up collar going back to the Brendan Batson kits of the late 70\'s

the away does look a bit like a ref\'s shirt!

I think Tesco is the obvious choice here when it comes to getting a sponsor.

If I was a West Brom fan I\'d definitely buy the home shirt. I\'d be more than slightly pissed off about the away shirt looking so much like a wolves shirt though

From the sublime to the ridiculous. No sponsor to \"look at the shirt on those sponsors!\"

Guessing that Baggies fans will be buying a ton of those sponsor-less shirts. Very nice - 4/5

The home has an unusualy ring to it its seems blunt but very clever 5/10 The away one is very plain but the neck and colours and shapes are very notisable 4/10

every body, the real away shirt has the albion badge in the right place, this is the prototype that was leaked a while back

this is what it will look like

http://www.expressandstar.com/2008/07/28/baggies-unveil-new-look/

i have no idea why the website has release images of the shirt that will not be sold

The home is great but the away is a bit boring - yellow and green stripes a la Cyrille Regis and co would\'ve been better.

The big plus though is no sponsor, if only ALL shirts were sold like that..

if West Brom \'s Umbro kits had the collar , the collar would look a bit like this :change angles ,v - neck collar , and embossed back neck tape, also royal blue trim on the collar. Overall ,the kit was absolutely great with all the details for both kits.great job.
except , couldn\'t they have use the same sponsorship deal as another team?

They\'re both hidious. The away one looks so cheap and tacky its untrue.

Shows how small a club Sandwell town are when they can\'t even find a sponsor.

Might look good having rings run around it mind.

Awful kit for a terrible team B)

GOING DOWN GOING DOWN GOING DOWN.

I don\'t understand why the English reporter writing this article assumes fans who buy the sponsor-less shirt will be lining up to have it attached once the club finds one. Are you kidding me! What fan wouldn\'t want a blank shirt with only club crest and colors? If I could somehow remove the stupid Emirates logo off of my Arsenal gear, I\'d do it in a second....

As for these kits...meh. The home is decent. The away is awful.

I am very impressed with the home one. Very smart. I purchased mine from the club shop today and can\'t wait to wear it first game of the season at the Emirates.

Not sure about the away one yet so will have to see that up close to pass judgement on it. One thing I will say though is that I won\'t be getting the sponsor ironed on unless it looks good on the shirt.

Boing Boing!

P.S. What with all the mockery and bitterness Dingles. Just accept we\'ve been the better team head to head with you in recent years and move on.

It\'s already been said, but needs repeating.

Why the wonky badge placement? It looks like being different for being different\'s sake. Shame, because the rest of the kit is great.
