Aberdeen unveiled the new third kit made by Nike for the 2009/10 season!

In a style echoing design elements of the new 2009/10 home kit, the kit is predominantly black with horizontal gold stripes. It comes complete with a sleek embroidered badge.

The new kit will officially go on sale in stores on Thursday 6th August but you can be one of the first to sport the new third kit by pre-ordering from Monday 13th July!

As with all AFC replica kits, the black and gold shirt is constructed from Nike's innovative Dri-Fit fabric, which keeps players drier, cooler and lighter by drawing sweat from the body to the fabric's surface, while the mesh back panel provides optimum ventilation rapidly moving moisture away from the body.

AFC defenders Richard Foster and Andrew Considine donned the new kit for our photoshoot and were impressed with the new offering.

Richard commented: "It's always great to be involved in the unveiling of a new strip and the third kit hasn't disappointed. All the boys in the dressing room are impressed with the stylish black and gold combination and are looking forward to trying it out during the course of the season. The material is extremely lightweight which provides great ventilation during a game...although it might be a wee bit chilly on a Tuesday night at Pittodrie! I am sure it  will be a hit with the supporters."

This is great. It\'s clean and classy, and the horizontal pinstripes are very elegant. I wish my FC Basel would have gotten something of this quality for their away kit, but they didn\'t.

When Nike want to they can turn out very eye-catching, well designed and stylish kits. This is one of them.

This design is from the dark ages.....just like the graphic designers at Nike...if there are any ! Its rubbish and dated...and I am sure that the Aberden defender came up with that quote all on his own.....just how hot and sweaty is it in Aberdeen any way???

it\'s horrible, I am from aberdeen and I can say my opinion is ALL the kits nike have made for us are horrible. before that we had horrible le coq sportif kits, before that horrible puma kits, before that horrible umbro kits.

we haven\'t had a decent kit since we left adidas.

ps. aberdeen was very hot and sweaty last week, 28 degrees. today is back to normal i.e. 15 degrees lol.

aberdeen is the best of the three major scottish cities for weather and we\'re the only one of the three with a beach.

it\'s like rimini but without the ugly people.

I have to admit, that is a pretty nice kit.

Nike have made some decent kits for Aberdeen over the past few years. This has to be one of the best, a big improvement from that horrible half yellow, half black mess from a few years ago. I also liked the half n half red one with the collar, that was nice too.

I\'ve seen this one up close and it looks so much better in the flesh. The pictures don\'t really do it justice. Way better that half the strips in the SPL this season.

Rangers-home and away are hideous
Celtic- have 4 for no discernable reason
Hearts- 1990 anybody
Hibs- bland
St Mirren- Acually quite nice
Kilmarnock- no matter what they say, it\'s the same as last season
Motherwell- Very good
Dundee United- Bit drab
Falkirk- Boring and a bit sh*t
Hamilton-looks cheap
St Johnstone- looks like a 1st division kit
