Ards fans gathered in numbers on Wednesday evening to see the club unveil its 2009/10 kits made by Joma.

First team players Andy McDonald, Jimmy McIlhagga and Darren Nixon were helped by local models Linzi Corr and Sarah Moorhead as they showed off the new season shirt.

For a fifth season the two new strips carry the name of main club sponsor Worthingtons Solicitors and are manufactured by Joma.

Replicas will be available in all sizes for supporters to buy in a matter of days and one of the new outfits will be worn in Saturday's first friendly against Abbey Villa.

Thanks to Keith

Ards Football Club play in the IFA Championship in Northern Ireland, which is the second division of the Irish League.

They won the Irish League in 1958 and were All Ireland Champions in 1974. They\'ve also won the Irish Cup four times and last year won the Steel & Sons Cup on Christmas Day.

They\'ve also played against AS Roma, PSV, Auxerre, Reims, Standard Liege, Royal Antwerp, Lasanne and Nea Salamis in Europe

If you like your random kits and you\'d like to purchase a kit (£30) then email us .uk, stating which kit you want and in what size and we will sort you out.

Apologies for the massive plug.

I\'m all for showing pub team kits if they\'re remotely interesting or innovative, but come on!

My Sunday league team have just bought fifteen new strips, made by M&M Sports, they are red. We\'re sponsored by a local butcher, who is incidentally our manager. Well, he calls himself our manager, really he just collects our subs every week and picks the team. Anyone interested in seeing that kit? Our keeper could get his sister to model one for the phot shoot.

I reckon my nan could score at least 12 goals a season in the Northern Irish second tier.

This website shows non league teams all the time and I think we fit firmly into that category .

Indeed, not many pub teams have quite the history of my club, nor indeed do they sell many replicas shirts.

Indeed, one of your (I assuming your English) famous World Cup Winning squad started his career at Ards.

We\'ve also drawn with Roma in and beaten Standard Liege in our time. Doubt your pub team has done that in their past?

You should maybe get a copy of this http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Red-and-Blue-Heaven-

Also we were feature on Sky Sports last season when we won the Steel & Sons Cup.

But sure, don\'t let any of that get in the way of a good rant.

Keith, I\'m not having a go at Ards FC at all, I\'m just saying this website is about football shirt design. It\'s for football fans to give their opinions on the latest designs, to discuss the merits and failings of the manufacturers, and so on. It doesn\'t matter that no one cares about Ards outside County Antrim, if they had an interesting new kit, with an interesting or different design, people would be happy to comment on it. But there is no design to comment on here, this is a kit that anyone can buy from a catalogue.
To be fair, several clubs a lot richer than Ards have teamwear kits too, I was just being facetious. No offence intended.

\"It doesn\'t matter that no one cares about Ards outside County Antrim\"

Newtownards is in County Down.
They play in County Antrim

Need to brush up on your wiki skills lad.

Yes there not much too the kit, but that honey makes up for it.

Quit picking on Ards, proper club with more history than half the clubs displayed on here. I apprecite the chance to see the kit of this storied club. They are no Institute FC but they are a proper club nonetheless. I\'ll be in touch with the club shop, nice classic kit like the club itself.

Perhaps I was being too sensitive but hosting a kit launch and getting national exposure on here is meant to be a step towards being more professional.

Your quite right, it is a teamwear kit. I was incharge of sourcing the best deal for the club in terms of price, design, aftercare and quality and I\'m pretty confident I got it right. Sales will tell.

I\'d of loved to have got Ards a unique design but the quote I recieved from Umbro was out of our league. It makes me feel a whole lot better seeing Football League and SPL teams wearing teamwear I must say.

MDG Sports and O\'NE (use to be O\'Neills) having just starting doing unique designs in Northern Ireland but I\'d rather let another team make the first leap with them.

In Northern Ireland only Linfield, Glentoran (both Umbro) Cliftonville (Puma) and Ballymena United (Macron) have bespoke kits although I believe Limavady United have a special 150 year Bukta coming out.

I realise the designs aren\'t very exciting compared to that mental Getafe kit above but I wanted to showcase it all the same.

\" .......pub team kits .......I reckon my nan could score at least 12 goals a season in the Northern Irish second tier. \"

Quotes such as those above always intrigue and amuse me. Mainly because there are usually made from Hampshire based Man Utd fans or Liverpool fans from Kent and such places. These people do not understand the concept of supporting your home town club. Regardless of the standard of football, they play in and regardless of the levels of success our home town club achieves we WILL ALWAYS support them. Yes, we will never experience our club winning European trophies or league titles but that\'s not what it is about for us. It\'s about being part of our home town club and them being a part of us. Something I doubt you\'ll ever get to experience from your armchair as a Man utd or Liverpool fan. Show a bit of respect please.

It was me who got the girls to do the modelling for the Club. Sarah is absolutley stunning no doubt about it, that picture doesnt do Linzi justice though as she is also stunning. Though if you want Sarah to model your kits im her new agent

Want to hear about the kits too though. Im personally very happy with the two kits and glad that they are available in short sleeves! The might not be as popular as Man United but still nice kits!

Lucy Evangelista who models the new Linfield Away kit is tunning no doubt about it. But modelling is her job, its what she is known for. Sarah Moorhead has done a wee bit of modelling but nowhere near the scale of Lucy. But Sarah is as nice if not nicer than Lucy, Gemma Garrett or any of the top Models in Northern Ireland. Sarah could definetley make a career out of it!!
