Aston Villa unveiled the new 09/10 home kit made by Nike, which is available through the FSC shop.

Club journalists Jack Woodward and Paul Brown set out on their Bullring To Bullring mission this week, with the task of transporting the new kit to Malaga in Spain in time for the Peace Cup.

Arsenal 08-10

Two seasons for home kits, one season for away. That\'s how it is

As a Villa fan I think we should get a little more when they release a new shirt! This is about the 15th new home kit in 15 years and the last 3 or 4 have been almost identical. Nice shirt but ive just ordered last seasons for a tenner as there is no difference!

I seriously did think it was last years. And there is lots you can do with Claret body and blue sleeves, they just havent done it.

I do really hate your new badge btw. Much prefered the old one

0 # 2009-07-24 23:25
Exactly as I\'d imagined it.
The changes are subtle...from raglan to tee sleeves with a stripe across the shoulder...rounder neck. Still, these subtleties present an improvement from last year\'s model.
But while the sponsor, supplier and basic design are unchanged, why bother having a new kit apart from to exploit fans?

The claret-light blue of AVFC is without a doubt the best colour combination in football kits ever

PS: I watched today the Spurs-Barça match and new Tottenham kit is just... pathetic (because of these stupid yellow details)

orange with black or white! or AC red and black?

hard pushed to think of any team outside england with it.

It\'s not bad, but too similar to recent kits. Actually there is a lot you can do with a villa kit, they\'ve had some great and some crazy designs over the years. Still, it\'s classic enough and people will buy it. Nice socks.
Yes, I agree with the previous comment, this would look very good for Arsenal in red with white arms. They\'ll have them back in 2010 no doubt.

As a Spurs fan i\'m just peeved because everyone else has a much better kit than us this year, because we have those stupid stupid yellow windscreen wipers.

wot retards have Nike got workin for them, cuz they obviously didn\'t get the message across that the new shirt needs to be different to the old one, I just think I\'m gonna buy last seasons shirt tbf, it\'s cheeper n no one will be able to tell the difference, just looks like no effort has gone in to it what so EVA, well done Nike

Sure it looks similar to last season\'s kit, but that doesn\'t mean it looks ugly. In fact, i think it looks pretty nice.

As for all of those claiming that they\'re being \"exploited\" by Nike and Villa\'s releasing this kit, there\'s a really simple solution. DON\'T BUY IT! You\'re not exactly being exploited if you willingly put down the 40 quid to buy the shirt, are you? No one\'s making you buy it. Quit f*cking complaining.

in the 1930s arsenal adopted the style of the Villa shirt and Barcelona have similiar, albeit darker tones of the Villa shirt. Villa were the first and orginal claret and blue that has inspired all other versions across the world.

it has similarities to last seasons yes but if the basic design aint broke dont fix it!!! villa is claret shirt blue sleeves, at least it aint hummel cheap material n crappy chevrons plastered all over it.

look at roma they\'ve had a \"new\" shirt every season under kappa but i cant tell them apart, at least this has different sleeves and collar

i will be buying and certainly wont feel exploited in doing so

I agree with most here that being a traditional Villa shirt, you can\'t do much with the design.

If it\'s too flashy, or detracts from tradition, people will hate it.

If it\'s too plain and too traditional, people will hate it.

You\'re damned if you do and damned if you don\'t.

I reckon Nike would\'ve been better off doing a version of the Ajax-style kit they wore in the league championship & european cup winning seasons (81/82).

Would\'ve ensured a decent contrast to last season\'s which this is far to similar, especially seeing as Burnley are in the Prem this season. Then again, that kit is probably being kept back for a couple of year\'s time when it\'ll be the 30th anniversary (how time flies..)

Failing that, it\'s been 20 years since the ultra-cool \'halved\' hummel design (see also Denmark 1986 WC) so a nice new version of that would\'ve been spot on.

(If you\'re unsure what I\'m on about, check this http://www.historicalkits.co.uk/Aston_Villa/Aston_Villa.htm

I am liking the socks though, sweeeeet...

It is interesting to observe that The greedy teams like Manure utd, spurs, villa have a new home kit for every season rather than 2 seasons. It is becoming like the the italians. Rip off again sons of censoredes.

I can\'t speak for Spurs or Villa but as a United fan I must correct you. Apart from a commemorative home kit in 06/07, United have always followed the 2-season home kit rule. This season is an exception though, as our sponsorship deal with AIG is ends in 2010, so we\'ll need a new kit next season anyway.

That\'s not to say the Glazers aren\'t greedy and unscrupulous - they clearly are - but I\'m sure the team you support are no angels either. Care to admit who it is you support?

They even brought out a \"Champions League kit\" a few years ago. I don\'t seem to remember the Villa ever having two home kits on the go at once, mate! Another deluded Scouser exposed.

If it ain\'t broke then don\'t fix it! Really nice, plain and simple kit, great traditional colours and fantastic Villa have a charity as their sponsor.

Nobody is forcing you to buy it and it is pretty identical to last season\'s so I wouldn\'t buy it if you have last season\'s one. At the same time though I wouldn\'t call it a rip off because for the money you are getting a great shirt unlike the dodgy away Everton and Newcastle tops
