Athletic Bilbao presented the new 09/10 home and away kits, as well as the 2009 collection, designed by Umbro for Athletic.

The “Hello! We are Football” campaign was launched and will continue the next couple of months, with different activities and initiatives taking place, and that will bring the Umbro / Athletic Club alliance closer to the fans in a new and original fashion.

Home is ok quite sharp. Away is horrible, dreadful collar. GK looks ok...I thought Athletic Bilbao had their own brand of shirts as part of the Basque identity

\"Hello we are football!\" How rubbish is that? what happened to Tailored by Umbro and why does Umbro have two different versions of the Diamond logo????

Nice Kits for Sunderland and Blackburn though!

The new logo is on the \"Tailored by Umbro\" range and the older version is on the rest of the kits which aren\'t so \"important\" so to speak.

The home kit is very nice and would have made a great kit for the Mackems, subtle and clean, but nice details on the sleeve cuffs and collar.

Away is so-so, but the collar is large, flappy & shapeless.

Not wild on the GK kit either, random geometric shapes are a bit late 80s/early 90s (and not in a good way) and looks like it needs an iron.

The reason why this and the other kits apart from the Man City and England kits have the old logo is that this template was designed a year in advance, and the Man City and England kits were designed this year in a matter of months. They both look okay, but nothing more

why is Bilbao\'s home kit a better version of the Rovers\' home kit? Theyre made by the same folks.... i don\'t get it... i\'ll be buying this away kit and sewing over a Arte\' e labore patch.

Bilbao used to wear rovers blue and white halves when they first formed. Maybe it\'s got something to do with that?

Athletic Bilbao\'s (their fans hate when people calls the team only \'Bilbao\') first kit was a Blackburn Rovers one, brought from the UK to Spain by one of the founders. In a second trip to England, the same guy didn\'t found Blackburn kits and he finally brought eleven Southampton kids before shipping back to Bilbao.

And about the sponsor... well, money is more important than tradition (unfortunately)

That is very strange to see an Athletic shirt with a sponsor\'s logo on it.

Tradition out of the window I guess?

Athletic has been having financial difficulty as of late, and thus had to resort to plastering Petronor on their jerseys halfway through last year. Apparently, producing their own kits and their own range of clothing has become too expensive, so they\'ve \"outsourced\" to Umbro.

Tradional kits for a team steeped in history. Have to say my first thought was bland and uninspiring but perhaps that\'s want their fans want and expect. I do remember the ketchup shirt which I liked and would have thougth they might have wanted a more adventurous approach, particularly for the away kit.

I wouldn\'y buy it a neutral.

Quite nice. and Umbro continues to get passing marks on all their contributions this season. I used to think Umbro kits were not so imaginative; now compared to the rest of the wild garbage that the big three (Nike, Adidas and Puma) are offering, Umbro looks tasteful and professional. Nike is practicing the $80 t-shirt look. Adidas is trying the bra look; and Puma is certain to try to highlight every player\'s collarbones this season with its wild stripes on the tops of the chests. Thank you, Umbro, for keeping this all serious.

I\'m an Athletic Bilabo supporter, Athletic have gone without a sponsor for over one hundred years and have managed to stay up there with the bes, we are one of only three teams that have not been relegated out of the first division. Last year we signed on with our first sponsor \'Petronor\' because unfortunately without the money we can\'t keep up with other teams. We have now signed an eight year deal with \'Umbro\' to manufacture our shirts. I think they look alright but I prefer last season\'s strip. I think it\'s good that they went back to the old blue and white away shirt.

PS. Anonymous is a faggot. Etxeberria is my favourite player and has a wonderful career. He deserves some respect. This is his last season playing and I think he\'s gonna do great!

Aupa Etxebe!
Aupa Athletic!

Its maybe worth pointing out that Etxeberria is playing for free (!) this season. He is only 31, he has looked about 40 for about 10 years! Not the most photogenic guy but you can see the club are still proud enough of him to have him as their new kit model again!

I like the new kit, as others have said it is quite tidy and fresh. I would have preferred the stripes to be the other way (red in the middle) because the club badge gets a bit lost (white on white). The away kit is a good nod to tradition although its also the same colours worn by two of Athletic\'s rivals - Alaves and Real Sociedad! Not forgetting the other blue-and-white teams like Depor, Espanyol, Malaga, so who knows when there will be a chance to wear the away kit!

The new kit is just out on the Ahtletic website, the shirt alone costs

aw right, it rejected the Euro sign, though i had ru n out of space. What i ws attempting to write is that the shirt costs 66 Euros on the club website and it would be another 50 Euros to ship it to the UK! Rather steep!

Sorry for hogging posts, technical glitch as mentioned above

I have an Athletic Bilbao shirt with 17 Etxeberria on the back from 1999, and its manufactured by Kappa, so this \"own shirt \"stuff is a fairly new development anyway.

For the record, it\'s one of their horrible centenary kits, with the big red lion on the front. Fortunately they didn\'t wear it much, preferring the traditional stripes.

It\'s still not quite as vile as the big splat shirt from around 2000 though.
