Bayer 04 leverkusen unveiled the new Adidas away kit for the coming 09/10 season. The basic colour is white, the sponsor’s lettering TelDaFax Energy is a bright red and the shirt has a yellow trim.

Goalkeeper René Adler and midfielder Tranquillo Barnetta launched the new kit on Tuesday in the refitted Bayer 04 fan shop in Leverkusen-Wiesdorf.

“It’s brilliant. White is a great colour anyway but the whole thing looks really good,” declared René Adler.

Bayer 04 replace their kit every two years and after the first season with the new home kit it is time for an away kit.

The kit supplier adidas presented a number of suggested designs for sporting director Rudi Völler and the team to choose from. “The previous away kit was my favourite kit and was very popular. But I really like the new one because it is attractive, relaxed and bright. The yellow trim is a new departure,” said Bayer 04 managing director Wolfgang Holzhäuser.

After the official launch on Tuesday, the kit will be worn by Bayer 04 for the first time on Wednesday night for the friendly against Al Ahly Cairo in Wattenscheid (17.00 CET). The colours were also well-received by midfielder Tranquillo Barnetta: “It’s really great. White looks really good and it felt good when I wore it. We’ll be in the new kit for the friendly in Wattenscheid and we’ll be looking to celebrate our first win wearing it.”

The new away shirt is available from the new Bayer 04 fan shop in the pedestrian zone in Leverkusen-Wiesdorf or from the online shop for €69.90 for adult sizes.

oh my, foul, that reminds me of mcdonalds. Still at least it means it\'s not only spurs who have ugly yellow streaks on a white shirt this year.

I am impressed by the imperative pigeon English slogans. \"Tel Da Fax\", da hole fax and nuffn but da fax. And get on your bike and \"Werkself\".

The colours look summery, but I have to agree with Pete\'s McDonald\'s point.

Those two fellas look like they\'ve been caught red-handed trying to pilfer a couple of shirts from the store room.

Are you guys familiar with the story that a young Michael Essien nicked some training kits during his trial at Manchester United many years ago? True story, apparently.

Very nasty, a great example of how not to combine white, red & yellow and I\'m already tired of this template.

Haha, the McDonald\'s comments are spot on, \"I\'m lovin it!\"

I must say that as a Stoke fan I\'m so glad we\'ve got Le Coq Sportif because at least their kits have got some originality this year, whereas the Adidas kits for next season have been utterly terrible and this template in particular is terrible. The design is ugly and unflattering and I\'m yet to see a colour scheme that it suits. And I\'ve lost count of how many clubs will be using it next year... Boro, Derby, Benfica, McLeverkusen, Wolfsburg, Palmeiras...

I bet Newcastle fans are glad that they haven\'t got this template on their away shirt... kind of

The outlook and kit colors remind me of the old Spanish NT kit.
