burnley-09-10-errea-kits.jpg

Burnley FC unveiled the new Errea home and away kits for the 2009/10 season.

The home and away kits have been designed to replicate those worn by the Clarets when they were last crowned champions of English football in 1960.

The traditional V-neck claret and blue home jersey features the 50th anniversary logo, is embroidered with the club crest worn in that era and emblazoned with the new shirt sponsor, Cooke Oils.

Kit sponsors Errea have kindly allowed their branding to be moved from the right breast to the sleeve, giving the jersey a more vintage appearance.

The jersey is finished with claret and blue trim on the neck and sleeves and accompanied by plain white shorts and claret and blue hooped stockings identical to those worn by Jimmy Adamson's men when they won the First Division title.

The away jersey is again in keeping with the 1960 team, featuring a white shirt with claret and blue trim on the V-neck and sleeves.

This time, Errea's branding is present on the front of the shirt, along with the same club crest and sponsor's logo.

The away jersey is accompanied by black shorts and white stockings with claret and blue trim.

Both kits will be available to order soon from the Turf Moor club shop and online.

Everyone\'s going retro next season, aren\'t they? England, Newcastle, Sunderland, Wolves, and now Burnley. Love the hooped socks.

And- what\'s this? NO Errea logo on the home top?? I\'m shocked!

Absolutely stunning kit - how a football kit should be, not the damn awful tripe that Adidas are producing.

A kit worth of the Premier League?

Wow. Burnley and Errea are on a roll with kits at the moment. 08/09 was fantastic, and these are really good too. Love the crest, and i dig the hooped socks.

as a note peter, personally as a toon fan, I would not say our new home kit is retro, as it is basically an adidas template with stripes added. I do like it though. I think retro is one way to go.

These kits are probably the best set of kits I\'ve seen so far. Quality from errea to move their logo to the sleeve. Shame they aren\'t still sponsored by Hollands Pies... their home kit from two seasons back was class.

Love both.......had an idea about the home for a long time but the Away kit is superb. Great that we have unique designs unlike so many others teams who get churned out templates season after season!

\"Kit sponsors Errea have kindly allowed their branding to be moved from the right breast to the sleeve, giving the jersey a more vintage appearance.\"

Yeah, good. Rendered somewhat pointless by the bloody great Cooke logo, but there you go.

I\'m in favour of looking to the past for inspiration, but completely plagiarising a 50-year old design is far from inspiring. It would be nice were there one or two touches to give the impression that the club is also looking to the future. Maybe there are such details, but I can\'t see them from the pics.

Overall, I\'d have to say the home kit does actually look nice. The away one doesn\'t cut it for me as the black shorts look out of place.

Hi Jimbo, it\'s not like you to miss the point, when you replicate a kit to commemorate a significant milestone in a club\'s history, it can hardly be plagerism.
The home shirt, in particular, is a copy of the title-winning shirt, but done in up-to-date technical fabrics and looks absolutely superb. I wasn\'t sure about the big, old school crest at first, but I think it really sets off the classic look of the shirt.
Nice job Errea and nice job Burnley on the 1-0.

Not a fan on Burnley\'s colours at all but the home shirt without the shorts has a nice retro look.

The away one is poor and looks awful with the black shorts. Not as bad as our current away though

The home one will look better worn by supporters I feel as a bit like a TOFFS kit.

Home 7/10 Away 3/10

Good luck in the play offs from a Stoke fan- like the badge a lot

Superb kit, simple, classy and retro all rolled in to one shirt. I personally hate buying replica shirts and think they should only be for u16s to buy, but if my club made a retro shirt like this i honestly would consider getting it.

Well done Errea!

Suberb kits and well done to Errea for removing their logo from the home kit.
I really hope Cooke does the same and give the fans a chance to buy a replica top without their branding.
Quite simply this is the best kit produced by any club side in the World in recent years.
A massive well done to all concerned and here\'s hoping Cooke do the decent thing and give the fans an option of buying the top without their logo.

what a kit, this is a fabolous one, simple and errea didn\'t have the need to appear on the local shirt, I believe adidas umbro and nike should copy this design, because they make uniforms that look like mode designs, they look terrible because football shirts must be traditionals and generally always the same.

Hopefully it will be a Premier League kit, because the numbering on the back of Championship teams is awful. That horrible gold/black font they use. Yuk

Especially after playing over 60 games from just a squad of 23 players and beating chealsea and arsenal on the way. me thinks promotion is a worthy reward

having had these errea kits for 14 yrs with boro they do look good but quality of materials and sizing is a big issue with them glad to get rid from boro to be honest though home and away kits last year in our relegation season were the best produced.

B-E-A-UTIFUL KITS. THEY WILL BOTH LOOK GREAT IN THE PREM!!! BUT I HATE THE TIMING. WE HAVE THESE KITS TO CELEBRATE WINNING THE LEAGUE 50 YEARS AGO THIS YEAR, BUT NOW IT JUST LOOKS LIKE WE\'RE GOING RETRO LIKE EVERYONE ELSE. STILL, IT\'S THE RETRO KIT OUT THERE. NO!!!! THE BEST KIT OUT THERE. FANTASTIC.
