Chelsea unveiled the 09/10 away kit which is available for pre-order today through the FSC Shop

The new adidas kit, which will be worn for the first time when Chelsea face AC Milan on 24 July during the pre-season tour, has incorporated the highest sporting technology and design standards into the shirt.

The away kit for 2009/10 uses a tonal hoop in dark navy and new navy with a neon yellow highlight for the adidas three stripes, tipping on the collar and sleeves, giving a structured, stylish finish to the shirt.

Engineered mesh in the fabric on the front of the shirt, coupled with the 3D Formotion cut allows complete freedom of movement. Waffled Climacool fabric and mesh panelling across major sweat zones will increase comfort and ensure players remain cool and dry.

The shirt also has a new collar design tipped in neon yellow, giving a 'v' neck impression with the Chelsea lion printed on the back of the neck.

I think that\'s quite good actually. The trouble is, how is that a change shirt? What the hell are they going to wear against Everton for example?

nah. if you look at the home shirt and this shirt side by side it doesn\'t look the same at all. I mean Royal Blue and Navy Blue are a lot different than people realize. Plus if a team like Manchester CIty can wear Sky at home and a visiting team can wear White, its pretty much the same.
I personally like this shirt but I like odd kits.

Are all the kit manufacturers purposefully making terrible kits this year?

They charge crazy prices, make worse kits, and make them more frequently...

Why don\'t you shut up. Notoriously quiet compared to where? The Emirates? Old Trafford, which sir Alex ferguson himself likened to a funeral home? Don\'t think so.

Take your three teeth and piss off back to liverpool where you belong. This is a forum discussing a Chelsea kit. If you hate the club so much, why are you even posting here?

LMAO! So wait a minute, let me get this straight...

lol oooookay then. Hope it works out for you Chelsea fans.

What is it with Adidas and Chelsea and the neon fixation? Every year Adidas find another way to jam in a bilious acid colour.

The design isn\'t bad and would look much better if the trim/sponsor was in white or \"ordinary\" yellow and the stripes continued round the back. Take the point about the blue home/blue away, but they\'ll have as many kits as they can get away with/sell enough of.

Anyone for a Champions league shirt in a slightly different shade of blue?
Reply | Reply with quote | Quote

Hardly a change kit....from blue to a slightly darker shade of blue. Looks like the 3rd kit\'s going to get some usage

0 # 2009-06-25 19:48
Wats the point of this kit? When they need a change kit they won\'t be able to wear this because it will clash aswell. It should be their third kit for use in the champions league instead. I think it looks alright tbh just pointless.

DP_Megachiva - What are you on about \"Isn\'t the collar identical to the new Umbro Sunderland and Newcastle kits?\"

Newcastle\'s kit is made by adidas. Do keep up.....

My guess is Chelsea will bring out a yellow kit aswel. They can have Newcastle\'s if they like!! Lol.

If having a blue home kit and a blue away kit isn\'t a cynical attempt to justify marketing a 3rd kit, then nothing is.

If I see anyone wearing one of these, I will point and laugh at them.

Wow, what a surprise. I thought these comments would be a review of the kit, but it seems people would rather use this space to vent all their rage against Chelsea. Classy move, United and Liverpool supporters.

As far as the strip goes, it\'s certainly a lot nicer than our disaster of a home kit this season. It\'s a unique colour scheme that we\'ve not really seen before...

As for those wondering who we\'ll use it against? How about Blackburn? Manchester City? Wigan? West Brom or Reading if we meet them in a cup?

I like it.
Chelsea home kit is ROYAL Blue whilst this kit is Navy blue and black. I DONT however think it\'s good for an AWAY kit...Third shirt maybe....BUT nevertheless it\'s a fab kit with an amazing colour blend and undoubtably our best away kit in years..
I love the yellowy-greeny colour in the writing as it just fits as THAT colour needed for this kit.
Last year I struggled to see Chelsea from Everton, West Ham Aston Villa or Blackburn....That was a problem with Black and Blue. Yet this one would be easier to see as it\'s two shades.
As for teams to wear it against. Blackburn, Wigan, Birmingham, City....Look at Blackburn and Sunderlands away kits,,, Both clashing with home kits, yet these have 2 different colours...You lot do know right they test these on fields against different shades of a colour we could clash with (like Blue or White.) so they wouldnt use it if it would clash ?

0 # 2009-06-25 23:54
That is absolutely terrible and a rip off for the fans! You cant have kits in two different tones of the same colour! I would imagine they wouldnt be able to wear that against Everton, Birmingham and Portsmouth because of a potential clash. The ref would surely have problems! Remember when Villa played West Ham last season? Villa\'s home and West Ham\'s away were too similar and they were predominantly two different colours (West Ham\'s sky blue away and the sky blue sleeves on Villa\'s) - Villa had to change into a white strip belatedly as their sleeves clashed with the oppositions strip! Surely that should have been enough of an example not to bring out a dark blue away kit! They could only probably wear that kit against Blackburn and all the other teams that wear blue and white halves (!)....maybe QPR too if they meet in the cup! I think its a sham and another way to get easy money from the consumer.

i dont think it\'s a bad away kit. its not a wear around town shirt, but a good playing shirt. Chelsea had a black away shirt last year. They wore that against everton and i dont think navy and black are too far off. I think they will be fine against other teams.

Looks like Inter Milan\'s ex European Shirt a bit... :s
I really think it\'s idiotic to actually consider them the Away Kit in the condition that the team you will play away and where you can\'t use your home wouldn\'t let you use the away also...maybe except Manchester City or any light blue team. Plus it looks like a copy of Inter Milan\'s ex European shirt :woohoo:. The away will probably be used in away games where the team could easily use the home. A nice way to kill your fans wallet in convincing him that the 3rd actually is important. And let\'s not foreget...Inter used similar shirts but for European Games even though they\'re natural colors were blue and black anyway  .
I wonder if the 3rd would be a 3rd for Premier League and the Champions League shirt will be the 4th.

Looks like Inter....

OK that was the last time.

i actually loved it, it looks more like a black kit fromthe above, and against everton or wigan they could use their third kit, that acording to footballshirtculture.com leaked pictures, there would be a white one... i prefer the home kit but i also like this one

by the way, i was thinking why did manchester united\'s new uniform looked so familiar... HAAA it\'s like Mexico´s uniform in the 2006 world cup... what is lame is the man utd \"stealed\" uniform... mmm a design of 2006 used for the suposed best team in england for 2009 hahahahahahahahahahaha yeah right

As a referee I can\'t see any reason why this couldn\'t be worn against at team wearing Royal Blue.

There is no clash as one is clearly darker than the other.

As someone else said earlier if Man City can play against teams in white there surely this isn\'t a problem?

Really Good combination of Blue and Navy and the stripes just work.

Its the 4th Nicest Kit this season IMO after Liverpool\'s Away, AC Milan Away and Russia White (away this year i think)

Pity its for Chelsea so I can\'t buy it.

I have never heard so many whiny people in my life. This kit is awesome. Just wait until you see it in person. These pictures do not do it justice. I actually bought this kit three weeks ago at a store in the United States. I\'m not going to name the store or even the state they are in because I\'m thinking they are selling it illegally since it just got unveiled this week and they were selling it three weeks ago.

Anyway, the kit is also much darker than these pictures appear and I really don\'t know why so many people care about when they are going to wear this. What does it matter? If you like the kit, buy it. If you don\'t like it, then don\'t buy it. Who cares if they may not be able to wear it that much. What does it matter to us fans? It doesn\'t mean a thing. Anyway, I\'m sure they will have a third kit available . Also, if I remember correctly they hardly wore the black away kit this year either.

Stop the freakin whinning

I\'m sorry if you\'re an actual genuine fan who has actually been to Stamford Bridge on various occasions and were a fan before the Abromovich band wagon jumping title-buying stint. If not I look on you with a mix of contempt and hatred of your breed of the yankee fans that annoy all real fans, irrespective of if you suppourt the same club as them.

First off, I\'m a Manchester United fan and a Phillies fan. Not a Chelsea and Yankees fan. I bought the Chelsea kits because Essien is my favorite player and I just like buying kits because I love the game. As a United fan I really don\'t have much hatred towards Chelsea but I can\'t stand Liverpool or Arsenal so I will never buy their kits.

What are you on about, your not a United \"fan\",at least not a respectable one!!Do you know anything about the club history, anything about the ground, for example have you even heard of the Stretford End,know any chants!?!?! NO RESPECTABLE FAN BUYS KITS OF OTHER CLUBS! And you say \"kits\" in the plural,oh holy **** you\'re sad,you bought more than one?!

Your yankee(slang for american jsut to enlighten you) daytripper glory lord colleagues are not welcome at OT or any ground! Essien is your favourite player!?!?! Why!? That\'s frankly ridiculous, he\'s French,you\'re a yank, he\'s a rent boy, your a United \"fan\", and as a United fan you should be getting behind our boys donning the red jersey, especially local lads, but, i suppose you would\'nt have a clue!?! Do you know any of the reserve and youth team players!?! \"I love buying kits because I love the game\",your just a product of the corporate globalisation of the game and you think you love it but you\'re just attracted by the bull**** that surrounds it and is slowly ruining it.

I hate the way we(United) attract so much ****e like this, it\'s sickening! And buy the way it\'s not just our big four rivals you should hate, you forgot about our trophy deprived scumbag neighbours that are now filthy-rich and trying to bankroll success and if they do so will alert the attention of people such as you. And of course the contempt-worthy sheep from Elland Road, have you ever even heard of Leeds United? How would you have ,they\'re not in the big four, not even the Premeir League, not even the Championship! In fact, they\'re wallowing in the doldrums of League One, of which the only thing with which you\'ll be familiar with is the league sponsors, Coca-Cola. You\'ve proven beyond doubt you\'re not a real \"fan\", so stop kidding yourself and go back your american \"sports\".

Any thoughts from other fans on the subject of buying other clubs or rival clubs jerseys?Or the subject of day-trippers or yankee fans?

U tell the ****er K Stand Upper, people might think we sound like ****ers givin poor old Jeff a roastin like this, i mean he\'s one of our own. Oh no wait a minute hes not, hes a piece of **** on the ground compared to hardcore fans.

U never mentioned city in your list of hated enemies, u hate arsenal more than city, how the **** does tht work, oh yeah because your a ****E fan. Also what about Leeds?? I suppose youve never heard of our pitiful yorkshire sheep shagging friends from across the penines, but then again u probably dont even know what yorkshire or the penines are not to mention leeds. And how can u like chelsea, direct title contendeders and fake ****s, peter kenyon is enough reason to hate any club lol, but chelsea?? ABSOLUTE SCUM. I suppose u dont have a clue who kenyon is either though(and dont ****in wikipedia it and come back at me cos your just lyin to urself) City, liverpool and leeds top any united fans list of absolute CNUTS. Anyway as a united fan u shud dislike every other club, not buy their ****in jersys!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Secondly u say tht as u dont hate chelsea u buy their kits but as u hate the jobless ****s(liverpool fans) from self pity city(liverpool city, actually by the way answer me this what other team comes from liverpool? I suppose u never knew there was 2. And what river runs through liverpool?) and the goonners u nevr buy their kits. U say this as if u absolutely must hate a team for u not to buy their kit. whats tht about, real fans wudnt dare wear the jersey of any other team, christ thts like telling your wife u luv her and cheatin on her behind her back really. Christ do u even know where manchester is on a map??

Why do u \'support\' united anyway?? Do u have family links to manchester??
Oh and K Stand Upper wasnt callin u a yankees fan u dope, yankee is slang for an american in ireland and britain u ****wit. God we dont care what baseball team u support, all american \'sports\' are ****e
