We already showed you some leaked design pictures of the new Everton 09/10 football shirts made by Le Coq Sportif, but here is the first leaked picture of what seems to be the genuine Everton home shirt for next season.

On the inside of the collar it shows a logo to commemorate the 1985 Cup Winners' Cup.

Agreed. Obviously an overseas glory-hunter type fan. Liverpool fans do not wear Everton Shirts, just as United fans do not wear City shirts, etc.

Actually looks better than expected, this shirt, but will be interesting to see what it looks like on the players.

Will they wear it for the FA Cup Final, though? They won in \'84 wearing that style of shirt, but the lost the next year, so will it be considered lucky or unlucky?

Seriously GTFO. People like you are everything that is wrong with football and I bet you couldn\'t even find Merseyside on a map of the UK.

see the designers really pulled out all the stops here like. \" lets see, EFC 85 kit, check, very minor adjustments, there all done!\"
better than the first \'leaked kit\'.
hope we still dont have that black and pink striped number...

I love it that the kits are going retro!

Come on Tottenham, lets follow suit.

For Spurs fans however I have heard that were looking at underarmour next season (the company that provide Wales RFU). Also looking at a new sponsor as Mansion are in a bit of trouble and paid over the odds for there 4 year deal.

Personally I have been happy with all of Puma\'s home efforts for us and some good away shirts, brown/gold, black/gold in particular.

I heard we keepin with Puma and Mansion this season and that our kit will be unveiled at our last home game on 16th May against Man City. But it\'s all still rumour. Not one leaked pic of the spurs shirt yet

As soon as i heard LCS was making Everton\'s kit again I envisaged them remaking the old \'Hafnia\' kit
http://i33.photobucket.com/albums/d90/kitbagshop/Shirt/1986Evertonhome.jpg

I\'m not particularly opposed to looking to the past for inspiration, but that kit was awful.

btw, Everton have never won the European Cup. It was the Cup Winners\' Cup.

I like it.

That LCS design is synonymous with the \'85 CWC win.

25th anniversary + Le Coq Sportif = WINNER!

I\'m glad they\'ve removed the White panels from the sides, under the arms.

And I\'m glad we\'re getting away from Umbro and the identikit templates.

I wonder if it\'ll get worn in the FA cup final...

0 # 2009-04-21 10:25
Looks far to dated to me...but I do like LCS in general far better than Umbro and all those stupid random diamonds.

0 # 2009-04-21 10:53
Like LeightonJimbo said I too wonder if Toffees will wear it at the FA Cup Final.
I suppose the collar had to be a bit different than the original Le Coq one otherwise they might as well as just reproduced it.Where the white bit goes down the chest just looks odd though.
But all in all,a great kit!

I\'m in agreement with a lot of the above comments. Would\'ve been nicer if the V had gone in to a point. Kind of looks like a bib the way it is.

I was thinking it over about how people say \"the V should finish off\" or \"come to a point\" but

if you take a loo at the top. I wouldn\'t look good with a full triangle on the front. It looks

perfect the way it is.

I think the collar does end in a point. It\'s just there\'s a slight fold in teh pshirt in that picture which obscures the bottom of teh triangle.

0 # 2009-04-21 18:20
It\'s beautiful, I think if the \'v\' ended in a point it would look out of kepping with the rest of the shirt and the blunt end works well with the Chang logo.

Regarding the Liverpool fan , he didn\'t actually say he would wear it, just that he would \'get\' it which as a collector of football shirts or simply someone with an interest in them is surely, by anybody\'s logic a perfectly acceptable thing to do.

I think that the use of the term \'overseas glory-hunter type fan\' exposes a distinct ignorance on the part of it\'s user as, after all, the premier league owes a vast amount of it\'s wealth and success to the kind of people I presume \'Tim\' is trying to label!
Reply | Reply with quote | Quote

0 # 2009-04-21 19:16
Hey - I\'ve got nothing against \'overseas glory-hunter type fans\' in general. God knows my (local) club has plenty of them, and they keep the cash rolling in - but they should still know the cardinal rule of supporting a team - you do NOT buy their rival\'s shirts (even if you\'re not going to wear them).

I think I like it. When I saw the design from the last \"leak\" I thought it looked like a summer dress with the white sides, I\'m glad they got rid of them. I\'m not a big fan of the whole retro buzz, I think Liverpool\'s grey retro away kit is not very nice, and Man Utd\'s away kit for next season - that\'s going to be funny everytime I watch MOTD - that said, I like the lace up collar.

I hope the away one is not black, I hate black footy shirt\'s, I don\'t mind the predicted design, or even the pink pin stipes, but use a better colour scheme - prefarably not boring white again.

The white \'V\' should be a little shorter and come to a point at the end.

Gonna make a really picky comment about the \'85 team that is printed on the inside: Ratcliffe played on the left of the centre backs and Mountfield on the right.

Other than that: good kit!

Not too fussed about the shirt one way or another. I think I would have preffered a collar on it this year and the white V looks like a bib but hey, what can we do? Isnt it nice to have a sponsor with such an excellent logo and that has been with us consistently. AIG ...... bankrupt same as the club, Samsung.... did you see their stock prices? I cant even remember who sponsors the Red ****e. Thank God we didnt get bicked up by Adidas. Three Stripes everywhere!!!!

The white fronts look - weird. I guess it\'s supposed to convey the sense of wearing a vest underneath, but - it doesn\'t work with a blue uniform. (It would work with black.) They look like a bunch of sailors. Not that that\'s a bad thing - Liverpool is a port city. But is that what they were going for? More to the point, what self-respecting buncha sailors would allow themselves to be bumped off 6-1 by a bunch of London Frenchie toffs?
