FC Metz unveiled the new 09/10 home and away kits made by Kappa.

FC Metz was founded in 1932 by the amalgamation of two amateur athletic clubs, and shortly thereafter became a professional team; it is one of the oldest professional football teams in France.

Its roots trace back further, to the SpVgg Metz club, formed in 1905 when the city of Metz was part of the German Empire.

Not the best -- but by no means the worst. Do they have sponsors on them or not?

Also, there\'s no need to have the word \"Kappa\" if you\'re going to have the logo on both sleeves as well. Spoils the shirt.

I\'ve noticed a ton of French clubs kits on here with sponsorless kits shown. What\'s that all about..? They\'ll all have loads of sponsors on.

Metz have alway had fairly decent kits. Puma did a very 70\'s retro style kit for them a few year ago, it was class.

Probably the first time EVER that burgundy/claret and pink have been used as shirt combination... interesting...

one of the best kits for a long time, classic elegance. it looks especially good without the shirt sponsor which ruins it but I\'m against shirt sponsors anyway.

it\'s a disgrace that club shops don\'t offer versions of their shirts either with or without the sponsor.

just because the club are getting money from the sponsor doesn\'t mean I as a fan should be expected to be a walking advert for the sponsor, they didn\'t pay me anything.

the pink strip is ****, what would have been wrong with a simple all white kit.

As the anonymous person pointed out, this is last season\'s Torino home shirt. Okay I can understand the same template being used by two clubs at the start of a season, but one season afterwards is just being lazy.

Why not? Palermo play in pink, and for the most part they look good in it too. I think you should be saying \'no team should play in pink with the ridiculous claret band across their shirt as the colours do not in any way work\'.

Also, if footballers can\'t wear pink, does that mean we should get rid of any other remotely \'feminine\' colours, like purple, yellow, etc? Then again, that means we could get rid of Fiorentina\'s ghastly purple and gold combo =) not the point though, loads of teams will be playing in pink in a few years time, just need enough teams with the balls to do it.

Yes, those colours you mentioned also look stupid on football teams.*

*Except for South American ones, of course.

the home reminds me of Torino. the away reminds me of palermo. i like the colours of both kits and i like the clean designs but they just don\'t have anything special about them.

WTF is with the big sponsor logo. I thought ours was big but thats frigin massive!

I quite like the home kit- nice and simple, but the away one is dirt.

When Nike make plain, simple and uncompromising shirts people generally like them. When Kappa or various other lower profile manufacturers do this they generally get branded as boring, uninspiring and that they\'re not that \'special\'.
Nice to see that the Nike marketing bandwagon works then.

I like Kappa, i was just stating the obvious rather than being on the \"bandwagon\". when there is a football kit that is plain and all the one colour its hard to say anything else to be honest.

You Millwall types, with you pie and eels, fight and whisper, if you so tough, go eat peasants and the mill by your sea. I hope you relegate to the low clubs.
Beckham still very good though and John Terry a good man.

The shirts do look a bit bland. A season or so back they had white collar trim which looked smart.

Another shirt where the presence of a well designed sponsor\'s logo (as in the team photo) adds rather than detracts from the look.

I agree with LU3Y; the home looks like Torino (now is Serie B) and the away kit\'s use of pink reminds one of Palermo. In either case, both look nice and I think Kappa offers some nicely designed shirts. Of course, most of us average people with some beers around the waist cannot wear the kits, but lately Puma and Nike seem to be going to a slim-cut look for their designs. (For an example, look at Lazio\'s home kit for 2008-2009, or the kits warn by Southeast Asian clubs such as Thailand, Malaysia or Indonesia by Nike).
