Fiorentina unveiled the new 09/10 kits made by lotto.

When Fiorentina was founded in 1926, the players wore red and white halved shirts derived from the colour of the city emblem. The more well-known and highly distinctive purple kit was adopted in 1928 and has been used ever since, giving rise to the nickname La Viola ("The Purple (team)"). Tradition has it that Fiorentina got their purple kit by mistake after an accident washing the old red and white coloured kits in the river.

The away kit has always been predominantly white, sometimes with purple and red elements, sometimes all-white. The shorts had been purple when the home kit was with white shorts. Fiorentina's third kit was first one in the 1995-96 season and it was all-red with purple borders and two lilies on the shoulders. The red shirt has been the most worn 3rd shirt by Fiorentina, although they also wore rare yellow shirts ('97-'98 and '99-'00) and a sterling version, mostly in the Coppa Italia, in 2000-01.

If it didnt have the ugly Lotto thing it would look lovely! I hate the way that, even on the red shirt, they still made it a patch!

ARGH, stupid kit makers. nice looking shirt though.

Sorry Fiorentina. The kits just diden\'t do it this time. Try again next year. Lotto usually does god kits for Viola but not this time just terrible. 2/5. Should put the swoosh on the sides instead. And Puma makes the best kits

If he joined your club then started screwing up his life and his playing career, you\'d want your transfer money back

£14million is an incredibly obscene amount for on person to pay, I know football players get paid alot but surely not that much
Excellent kit by the way

No wayyyyyy!!!!! these guys at lotto made no effort whatsoever and gave the Viola basically the same colors/shirts as last season. besides:

1) no time invested in design..... check
2) lotto sleeve patches.... check

Fiorentina has a long history, and thus deserve better than these boring, ass-sucking kits.

Wow, the comments are very diverse here. Some just hate them, some say wonderful. Here are my comments (biased, of course).

1. This year\'s looks nice, with the striping across the top of the chest. Adds something that the last few seasons did not have, as they were getting increasingly boring.

2. The Lotto logo: I think it is nice, actually. Remember, Lotto is an Italian company, and Italy prides itself on design and fashion, not on how \"main street\" or \"conservative\" it make something look. Adds a bit of color to any uniform (adds red at least) and is a nice design. My vote: keep it on kits.

3. Collar is good. Different than others so far this year.

Good job.

Like it, the designs on all of them are really nice. The Huge lotto logs dont really add anything to the design though, and the lotto logo (the one above the crest on the shirts) does not look half as classy as the old lotto logo. Thats the main problem with the new lotto kits. The designs are brilliant (the best from the company for ages) but the huge logos are a problem, and they are almost always in white with a huge red background, which always looks like an afterthought.

They really need to get rid of the logo on the sleeves. It looks so chesp and tacky.

\"Viola\"

They collect rubbish where I live, quite appropriate for a Lotto shirt.

I agree red squares spoil Lotto kits, although Kappa and Puma logos also spoil their shirts.

Der Kommissar is right. I like Lotto but the fact is all the new Fiorentina kits are being bought out with basically the same design year in year out with little or no innovation apart from a gold stripe here or a white flash there. All violet is unique to Fiorentina so maybe their fans are happy with this but not much point getting a new shirt if you ask me based on these offerings.

Lottos red arm crest is part of the Lotto brand. I for one like it, maybe they could accustom the colour to the shirt but it should stay. White away shirt is very nice.

UGLY UGLY SHIRT like ever since lotto makes them. i\'ve been waiting for years to get myself a fiorentina shirt, but ugly ugly ugly shirts by lotto disappoint me again every year! i wish i had gotten the old adidas shirt or even fila when batistuta played there...

last hope: i really hope they change their sponsor sometime soon (lotto AND toyota) i just don\'t really wanna walk around with a stupid car brand from japan! adidas and gelateria del corso or sammonata was the best. i even lived in florence when they were 4th league... really wish i had gotten myself a jersey back than...

cu guys and FORZA VIOLA!!!

Not nearly as good as the Livorno shirts but these shirts are far too good for Fiorentina - they're crap!
