As JJB Sports Premiership Champions Glentoran prepare for the defence of the title, supporters have been eagerly awaiting the release of the brand new Umbro 2009/2010 away kit.  Today the club revealed the brand new kit that will be available to buy from this coming Friday.

The kit launch event will kick off on Thursday night at Connswater at around 9pm with a cavalcade of music and sound, prize giveaways, big screen highlights of the league winning season, good food and refreshments.  Top of the bill will be a fashion show fronted by first team players and fans who will reveal the fantastic all new official training and leisurewear collection for Season 09/10.

The unique and stunning new away kit will be on sale at midnight on Thursday 28th May at Connswater Shopping Centre, home of the new Glentoran Superstore!

There will be player interviews throughout the evening and of course and opportunity for autographs and photographs with the Gibson Cup also in attendance!

Looks nice, but the vertical woven stripes spoil it for me, especially as it accentuates the beer belly of one of the players pictured!

As for the sponsor, No - U FonaCab!

Glentoran4life , could you tell me why your motto is in French and why you have a rooster on your crest please?
Reply | Reply with quote | Quote

0 # 2009-05-27 16:23
The French motto came from a flag spotted by fans when we played PSG in Paris in the early 80s in the European Cup Winners Cup .

Thise shirt is pure class, but they should have used more the green.
so: 3/5

I also like the idea of the background of the badge.

Actually, nice kit; individuality with the crest imprint and a nice touch with motto on the neck. Verticle stripes make it more interesting and the green dash on the sleeves, coupled with the red/white sponsor and the rest of the kit keep it entirely in line with the clubs colours.

Fair play Umbro, good work.

Nice looking jersey. I like the watermark behind the club badge and the \"Pride of the East\" print on the back of the collar.

FDV is right, they should have used more green, but these shirts are still great. The red n black is bad-ass, and the imprinted background designs are beautiful.

obviously cant wait to buy this, and some of the training wear. and why not french for our motto? its different than the orginal \'latin\' mottos, it means \'the game before all\' quite proud of the motto. btw gary hamilton hasnt got a beer belly and hes by far the best player in the irish league if not both irish league and league of ireland!

East, East, East Belfast.
Love the crest behind the badge, seen Sunderland have done it too. I\'m hoping Rangers go for something similar to this kit, only drop the vertical stripes.

West, West, West Belfast.
Can\'t wait to see the new Cliftonville top! I wonder what the Ireland third kit will look like? Hopefully will be a cracker!

Come on Ireland! As posted above, we do have some gorgeous ladies here in Eire!

Jenny Curran is not from \"eire\" and the republic of ireland has nothing to do with this :S
Reply | Reply with quote | Quote

0 # 2009-05-28 15:19
\"Éire\" is Gaelic for \"Ireland\" (as in the island), not \"Republic of Ireland\". So if Ms Curran is from this island she\'s from \"Éire\".

The new yellow (with blue trim) Cliftonville away shirt is out already.
