Ipswich Town's new 09/11 home shirt has been revealed after more than 5000 votes were cast.

Over the last few years, Ipswich town supporters had the final say in the look of both the home and away shirts and a few months ago, Blues' supporters were asked to select their favourite choice of the three 09/11 designs given and shirt number 2 came out on top.

Pre-orders for the 5000 limited edition shirts with the three stars will be taken from February 14 and these will be available for collection from April 25. General sale will begin on May 2

this 5000 3 star ltd edition thing has been done before by ipswitch hasnt it! it seems like a gimmick to me, to try and get people to buy shirts early. even though i buy all of my shirts as soon as they come out i normally buy a second when the price drops. whod bu a shirt that wasnt like the ones the plaers wear, this would realy annoy me if i were a ipswitch fan.

I think you\'ll find that the 3 stars have been used for a number of years now on both retail and the players shirts and will be available for quite a while after the release date. If demand is high then they are likely to produce more than the initial 5000 as has been done in the past also.

Looks like its a rip off from the Errea catalogue see www.errea.it . Clearly made in China in batches of 5000 hence the \'limited edition\' tag. When will fans learn ...you are being ripped off ...again

It is no more a rip off than any other football shirt and a completely new design for Ipswich.
Just look at the designs of some of the top flight clubs from across Europe and most of the designs are identical bar some colouring.
As for the pricing, this can not be justified by any of the sports companies especially the top teams when thousands upon thousands of shirts are sold worldwide, while only costing them few pence to produce yet reailing for around the £40 mark.

misterblue-1 in one way you are correct; but what you also have to take into account is that a club at the level of Ipswitch want £100,000\'s up front, in cash, for a kit sponsorship deal, plus a minimum of £50,000 in free kit, plus a royalty for every shirt sold through outlets other than their club shop.
All of this has to be added to the price of a replica shirt, plus a bit a profit for the company.

I think the main problem of that shirt is that there\'s too much white detail on the left side of the neck. It produces a trick on the eye if we look at that guy modeling it his head looks like it\'s closer to his right shoulder that it actually is. But saying that if you want your team to look like mutant freaks commonly seen in comic books then mitre have done a fine job.

There are lots of variations on these theme around at the moment from Nike (mostly for GK), Canterbury and Errea - probably the most distinctive.
This is not a bad effort, but I have to agree that the whole \'5000 Limited Edition\' is very dubious.
Will the 3-star version be used by the team?
Either way, why, as a supporter, would you want to buy a replica shirt that was not actually being worn by your team?

The 3 star version will be worn by the team, as per the current kit and previous years.

Exactly! I have no idea how many replica shirts Ipswitch fans buy in a year, but this basically means that if you are not one of the first 5000, you will not be able to buy the shirt that the team is actually wearing and that is simply not right

When I saw the graphic representation of the shirt at first, I hated it. Seeing the real thing it doesn\'t look too bad actually.

I agree, still prefer option 3, the one with the white sleeves.

Yet another poor offering.

The one with the white sleeves was probably best due to it\'s heritage and simplicity. Why do Mitre have to over complicate things!!!

The shirt doesn\'t even fit right. The neck is far too loose and along with the pathetic white streak looks cheap and non-league.

Sponsor is far too big. Looked fine on the computer image but now looks silly.

As proud as I am of our 3 major achievements, I\'m embarrased by the 3 stars appearing on the shirt. Other teams that have acheived far more than us don\'t emblazen their shirts with it. Roll on promotion to the Priemer League where stars on shirts representing previous glories are not permitted. Hopefully then at least Umbro (Adidas and Nike too much to wish for...) may come in for us.

To sum up, in case you feel I\'ve sat on the fence - I don\'t like it
