Do Ireland need a 3rd kit?

Horrible. Bad colour combo, cheap looking collar, stupid pattern cut into the chest and perhaps worst of all really looks like a Ref\'s top. Thankfully for the Irish fans international 3 rd shirts are a waste of time.

I like it but for Ireland to have a 3rd shirt that they will only looks at once is useless and just a way to make money off the loyal Irish supporters.

Well anyway, off we go to the World Cup (I hope!)

I don\'t really care if it\'s going to be used or not.
Another nice effort by Umbro, they\'re doing well this season and I hope that they can keep it up for the upcoming seasons.

Nice shirt but no point in having it. It\'s all about making money. A 3rd shirt so it can just be worn for 90 minutes? It\'s madness. We\'re in a recession and the FAI expect us to buy a shirt that will be used once.

The least they could do is TAKE THE SPONSOR OFF THE SHIRT!

Hey Cathal are you \"John from Ireland\" from football-shirts.co.uk? I just saw your same exact post on that website about this shirt.

Third shirt for every federation is a waste of money, but is not the sponsor fault, they pay a lot of money for the contract, they want it back !!!

May be the national teams have to play more games to justify this robbery !!!

Anyway...nice shirt.

The shirt may be used more than once, but don\'t take my word for it...
It\'s not bad, but looks more like a Northern Ireland Away / Third shirt, because of the Blue...
The collars NOT cheap...
C\'mon Norn Iron, we\'ve gotta beat Slovakia, he can beat Spain, and their higher in the FIFA rankings!...

JUST ANOTHER COUNTRY!!!!!!!!
Dont you know irish people made america!! and that everybody loves us and we are a peaceful bunch it is merely the dirty vile prods that give mother ireland (peace be upon her) The bad rep!??!?!!? We are freedom fighters to get back what is ours!!!

ok we have orange in our flag but the flag represents peace between the prods and catholics and the republic of ireland is a catholic country and if we get to the world cup i can say now it would be terrible if we were told to wear an orange strip and represent the prodestants who mainly are in the north ,the flag represents peace with them but we do not represent them and never will!!!

seriously min you\'re just sad. Religion does not mater and politics should not come into it. Bitterness only poisons the soul. If you could see that we are all the same, and im taking this from what your religion preaches, in the eyes of the lord. is that not just a little bit hypocritical?

Does any other country have a 3rd shirt ? Countries sometimes use different colours for training kit / polo shirts etc. This is nice enough but somewhat pointless imo since the green home / white away will always be worn unless they come up against a team playing in green and white combo home shirts. Can\'t think of any...

England had an all-sky blue third in their inventory for a long time, but it very rarely got used - its most famous outing was in a 1970 World Cup match against Czechoslovakia where it would have absorbed less heat and kept the players cooler in the Mexican afternoon heat than the usual red.

Why Ireland had a sponsor in the jersey?

Mexico in 2002 had 3 jerseys (green, White and Red) and Portugal in 06, Red, Black and White

It looks like 3 different shirts cobbled together in an emergency referees meeting chaired by an amateur golfer who wants a new shirt for his forthcoming performance in the US Masters....its odd .
Can all those idiots stop banging on about Irish politics , catholiscism etc this is a football site and we aint interested in small minded petty arguments!

Yes, it does come with a free balaclava, but only if you live in South Armagh...
I may be from the North, and support Norn Iron, but this is nice...
And it\'s nice to see our Father country wearing a good shirt...

One day we\'ll be free, we are not Terrorists, we are Freedom fighters...
In for the cause?

To all you racist Brits reading this page, check out BBC 4\'s \"How the Celts Saved Britain\" - Provocative two-part documentary in which Dan Snow blows the lid on the traditional Anglo-centric view of history and reveals how the Irish saved Britain from cultural oblivion during the Dark Ages.

Nice to see your licence fee being spent wisely.

What a shame that a discussion about a football shirt has been infiltrated by such racism and bigotry. You can preach tolerance all you want but some people just want to stay in the gutter I guess.

Isn\'t it sad that slightly different opinions on the SAME F**KING RELIGION is the cause of such hatred. Okay, you\'re Protestant, you\'re catholic. DEAL WITH IT YOU\'RE ALL STILL IRISH!!!

This anti-protestant stuff is ridiculous.

Are the likes of Napper Tandy, Wolfe Tone, Sam Maguire, Erskine Childers, Robert Emmet and the United Irishmen dirty and vile because they\'re protestants?

It\'s a conflict against the Brits not a religious one.
