On the eve of the team’s departure to the summer camp in Pinzolo, the new jerseys for the 2009-2010 season - which are available through the FSC Shop - were launched. The event, organized at the OGR (Officine Grandi Riparazioni), a suggestive location in the centre of Turin, saw the participation of general manager Jean-Claude Blanc and coach Ciro Ferrara while the jerseys were worn by the protagonists: Manninger, Amauri, Diego and Sissoko.

Nike Italia was represented by general manager Andrea Rossi who illustrated the innovations especially with regards to the second or away jersey. Both jerseys refer to the histroy of the club. The first jersey, in particular, has narrower black and white stripes and brings to mind the jersey worn by the protagonists of the Quinquennio (1930-1935) when Juventus on 5 consecutive scudetti. The shorts are white with a lateral black and white stripe while the socks, white too, have a subtle black line with “Juventus” printed on the calf.

The second jersey is the true novelty for the season. Built around the famous sentence pronounced by Giovanni Agnelli before the Champions League final against Ajax in 1996 (If they are a team of Flemish painters we will be tough Piemontese) these are the innovations: a jersey the colour of steel with a black and white line in front. The shorts are black with a lateral line of the same colour. The socks are black with Juventus written in grey on the calf.

Jean-Claude Blanc – "we are launching the new season which we hope can be rich in emotion and great results. All the Juventus group will be tenacious in order to confirm the value that this jersey carries along with it. In these seven years of collaboration, Nike has always been capable of working in this spirit and even this time they have come up with a product that fully reflects the history and value of Juventus".

Ciro Ferrara spoke of the jerseys themselves:" The first jersey, which brings the 1930s to mind, the one that contributed to Juventus being called “The Fiancee of Italy” (Fidanzata d’Italia), will accompany us towards new and prestigious objectives. The second is totally in line with the fighting and tenacious spirit of the club, the athletes and our supporters."

Finally, Andrea Rossi explained the choices made by Nike: "The first jersey reflects the Juventus tradition finding its inspiration in the Quinquennio, while in the second we were inspired by the character and pride which has always characterized the team in international football. This is from where the idea of steel colour and the diagonal black and white stripe was born. We hope that these new jerseys can give an important contribution in facing the new season."

The grey is nice, but will never work as an alternate, makes no sense.

Juve get away with it being alternative by having the Black shorts.

But still it wont be enough vs some teams... Nicely set up for a 3rd kit, unless they use the same trend in last seasons away being the 3rd. In which case its the Gold top isn\'t it?

actually the more i look at the away shirt the more i like it. even though its not a vast difference in colour from the home shirt and thats the only down side because that is the whole purpose in home and away kits.

Not bad though the grey kit is a bit superfluous.

I\'d guess that Juve are retaining last season\'s gold kit as a third choice this coming season, just as they have done with with previous away kits.

Great idea the grey jersey, but it don\'t work like an away jersey, colors are near the same of the home jersey!

i don\'t like the home jersey, is very normal, too normal. The Barça one is really better than this.

I don\'t think the numbers on the shorts are quite big enough
I really like the gray...like someone said above, I wasn\'t impressed with the leaked pictures, but they look real good here

Home, too simple, but still.. nice
Away, Nice colour there..

But, black/white at home and grey/white/black at away??
That doesn\'t make sense

Oh and I don\'t support Juventus. I don\'t watch Series A frequently, but Totti is the only player I ever liked from Italy. (Maybe they were good, maybe there were other great players like Pirlo, Del Piero, Gattuso, Buffon, Cannavaro and so on, but i just didn\'t like them)

I have to say, the home kit is fantastic. Simple, effective and classic. Wish The Blades shirt was as simple as this and i rather like our new home shirt.

I can see why people are stating that it\'s boring or too simple but this is what appeals to me. Unfussy Black and white stripes with minimal trimmings. Perfect.

The fact that designers etc... have trouble coming up with new variations on striped shirts sometimes mean that they use overkill when designing and maufacturing them, thus releasing shirts that sometimes have too complicated flashes and trimmings and irregular stripe paterns etc.....,

I think this shirt is brilliant because of it\'s simplicity.

The shorts however, IMO, would look a hell of a lot better if they were just plain, not liking the chevrons they\'ve emblazoned down the sides.

The away kit, as stated in previous post just doesn\'t sit right. Silver and black is too close a match to the home shirt and will probably be, again as stated in an earlier post, superfluous. I would suspect a 3rd shirt will be put into production to negate the enevitible colour clash away from home. Yellow, with plain black shorts would look good.

I give more points to the away kit due to its nice, regal stripe across the chest and the use of gray for the main body color. It would have been nicer if the collar and the sleeve cuffs had incorporated either another color or a pattern as the collar/cuff makes it look more lik a t-shirt than an expensive jersey. I guess Nike feels people fork over their hard-earned money simply because a swoosh is on the chest; not because of the design. Oh well.

For he home kit, the white \'pilot shoulder strap\' look just ruins what would have been a nice kit. Guess the designer wanted to be a pilot in an earlier life.

One thing you don\'t see in the pictures but should be pointed out: The shorts have some sort of racing stripe up the side. Really looks foolish, in my opinion. Maybe this goes back to the theory that the designer wanted to be on the race course or the airport runway. Maybe the socks have wings on them, or have pads so the player can put his foot on the gas more comfortably?

Love the home strip.Traditional looking, simple, unfussy kit.
As for the away,if the main colour was blue rather than grey then that would be great too.

the only think i dont like about the away shirt is the sponsor looks like it was pasted on...the diagonal strip should should not run behind the sponsor, it should stop and the continue after it

Distinctly average howm but then that is par for the course for Nike who expect everyone to swoon at all the designs and be great that it has a swoosh on it.....This enable them to sell s~hit to morons who believe the hype. Grey kit is ok and the green is just aparks kit..Nike are a joke

I love the tops, but the shorts suck. And why is Manninger in the keeper kits rather then Buffon? And why didn\'t Diego take Amauri\'s #8?

As a St Mirren fan it pains me to see this. This is how black and white striped shirts should look - unbroken stripes front AND back. No stupid panels for numbers and names etc.

Away\'s not too bad but again can\'t see how it\'ll work.

Grey on away shirt? And they\'ll blame it to the shirt if they received bad results
But it\'s unique. I think I\'ll buy one away shirt
Goalkeeper jersey... hmmm... definitely nothing special

Why do people on here always knock the away kit when it closely resembles the home kit? Who cares? How are you effected by this?

Anyway, the away kit is just awesome. Who doesn\'t like Black and Sliver? It is just a great combination of colors. I will be buying this as soon as it is available. The home kit is nice too. It\'s classic Juventus.

It\'s because an away kits that is similar colours to the home shirt completely defeats the purpose of an away kit.

Also, there is often the suspicion that making the home and away shirt similar colours is an excuse to bring out a third shirt (money, money!)

Good kits here from nike. There is hardly any difference in colour with them both. When are they ever going to wear the away strip?

Yes Amauri took \"his\" number, the 11, now that Nedved is not with Juve anymore. Diego chose the 28 for 2 reasons; his date of birth and because 2+8 = 10
