"Nike's big plan to keep the look of the new England home shirt - supplied by their subsidiary company Umbro - under wraps until revealed when the players take off their tracksuits before the Wembley game against Slovakia on March 28 may have come unstuck.Alleged pictures of the £50 shirts have been leaked to a website specialising in football kit culture, but Umbro claim they are not genuine.
Leaked New England Shirt - Not genuine says Umbro

Umbro is part of NIke?
Or its not fake and they\'re trying to despiste us...
embarassment averted
perhaps this is one..?
And can people STOP saying that we should have just red trim on our shirts rather than blue, we\'ve had mostly blue than red on our shirts for god knows how long and there our colours! Congratulations for noticing that there isn\'t any blue on the St George\'s Cross but there still our colours.
Japan don\'t have any blue on there flag but the magority kit is blue.
Italy don\'t have any blue on there flag but there kit is mostly blue.
Holland don\'t have any orange on there flag but they have had orange as there shirt colours since god knows when.
So just because we haven\'t got any blue on our flag doesn\'t mean we should get rid of it after we\'ve had it on our shirts since almost the beginning. Lets go promote British Racing Green just to piss the people saying \"we don\'t have any blue on our flag so we shouldn\'t have it on our shirts\", now that would just be glorious!
You people just know how to push my buttons! oooff!!
Since they got the idea of putting the cross on the shirt they couldn\'t use it again without making it look exactly the same or making it look even worse and from then they have kept putting more and more red on it and the shirts has been getting worse ever since.
We need to go back to what we use to be rather than making something we aren\'t.
Its just getting to fussy now and thats the reason no ones liking what they design and produce.
Reduce the amount of red and just use it subtly without going over the top.
back to the drawing boards
1) Training shirt: fairly plausible, although if it was you would expect the Nationwide Building Society logo on there.
2) Design that was considered viable enough to get off the drawing board and have a prototype made, but subsequently passed over: I don\'t know how many designs on average per launch get prototypes, so I can\'t really gauge the plausibility here.
3) This was given the go-ahead, to be the 2009-11 kit, but negative reaction has forced plan B: not really plausible, as then the publicity campaign would need to be redone from scratch and that could lead to a delay of the launch and as FSC has already detailed, that happened with the current away to some embarrassment.
One way or another there is so much detail in this kit, not least of all with the QR-code (that\'s the box of random pixels) that leads to a genuine Umbro website, this must one way or another have passed through Umbro\'s hands. Were it a complete bootleg, there would have inevitably been some mention of tracking down the copyright violator and taking legal action to protect their trademarks.
God this is like \"who shot JFK?\"
Very often various fabrics are used to see which works best and, very often, the fabrics are not in the colours that will be used.
More than likely, the shirt that was \'leaked\' was made using the finalised cutting pattern, but was not put together using the finalised fabrics.
I do not know for certain if the is the case, but I do know that this is standard procedure when developing a new shirt.
Sorry if that was a bit dull, I just thought some people might be interested.
Not everything on here is true you know.
It is nice to see someone who seems to know what they are talking about and who is prepared to be honest, without saying something super-witty like \'This kit is s**t.
ok the kit is god awful and do agree that it is most likly was a possibilty and some stage but nothing more than that.
but your arguement that we must stick to having the some colour scheme in all our kits is a little silly dont you think? why not have the change and revert to more red than navy? those really are OUR colours, they are the colours that represnt our nation much like the rugby team wear, is it really relevent that holland wear orange? i mean argentina wear blue and white, mexico wear green white and red? anyhow, the point im slowly getting to, is we should embrace chance, we hardly excell in white and navy, lets give red more of a chance!
Still turn out to be shit though if umbro have anything to do with it. Sign up with kappa and have done with it
At the end of the day white, blue and red are our colours and just like every team in the world they use there own colours in some form on there shirts because believe it or not thats there colours.
I tell you what lets add a bit of purple or maybe green because there likely to be on the crown jules!!
Having just red on the shirt wont magically make the team win competitions.
Just because the team aren\'t winning anything in white, blue and red doesn\'t give enough reason to get rid of the colours we have been using for many many years, its still going to be the same team playing in it at the end of the day.
umbro have been a secord tier kit designer for ages, ever since man u dropped them!
get nike or adidas on it, they\'ll do the job and give us a kit that we can be proud of as a nation, sell it at a reasonable price and see the fanbase grow =]
Even Burberry stopped making that pattern because they didn\'t want to be constantly linked with them things.
ps. chavs dont have the money to buy burberry clothing.
if its not stolen its fake.
back to this new rubbish kit.
to be honest what i like about this kit is the white colour and the three lions emblem on the heart.
but the collar and the sleeves really look like the kit of an eastern eurpean national team back in the 80\'s.
i also never said we would become world beaters and win competitions if we change to red it was mearly to give it a chance! what harm could it do for once in englands glitering history to just change things around a bit? why MUST it be always white navy and red? didnt holland mix it up with blue socks once? i know its not exactly the same but its a point none the less.
scotland have mixed it up, they had navy white and red, then went to all navy with a bit of gold and then went back to the navy white and red.
you shouldnt be so against having something different! sometimes its nice to have a bit of a change!
Imported from Thailand so i have been told
I just want a traditional shirt for a change and stop with the over styling and changing of the OUR colours.
I understand people want something different but this is Umbro we\'re talking about and if they hear that then they start doing even worse designs a than there last shirt and retro design are coming back in so im just hoping that they do something more traditional than something totally different that will be over styled or boring.
And i was using the purple and green just to make a point that if we start moving around colours then we might as well change it all together! because just having mostly red will make us look like most of the other teams that wear white and red. Poland, Switzerland, Austria....all have the same colours and by using our normal colours makes us slightly different from everybody.
As for Umbro redesigning it because of negative reaction on this site?
Get a grip you deluded idiots,
anyhow cheers lu3e!
That is what i am talking about, something different but retro that will be different from all the other shirts out there.
I just hate Umbro\'s over styling by adding ridiculous patterned materials that look like they have been cut out by a blind person and then sewn together overlapping each other with a pointless barcode thing they seem to think is good at the bottom of the shirt!
Cheers to you as well DanWally, its a rare thing finding someone to talk about things that are posted on here without people getting stupid arguements about nothing about the actual point.
If you had an actual brain cell then you might of been able to read that i put \"Can people STOP posting comments like this shirt is the real thing\"
I know it must be hard for you but try sounding the words out next time you prick.
And good luck to Leicester getting back to top flight football.
I think LESS is MORE. If we\'re expected to buy these things for casual wear; then they should be of a toned down ( I\'m cool) nature.
Umbro would also benefit by reduced overhead, & keep the price down for us lot. (Although I doubt a price cut would ever happen).
If you realy insist on red & blue, keep the trim colours narrow; maybe even close to each other too. ( Hey presto !!! from distance, this looks like that classy hint of purple, you was after.)
I agree with you about keeping the colours to a minimum as well to make the shirt more of a casual wear top so people can wear it when ever instead of the only time you can wear it is if you are doing some form of sport or your a chav and sportswear is the only clothing you have in your wardrobe!
Thats why i wish they\'d design a retro style top so it will be easier to wear.
Fred perry esque blue and red trim around the sleeves would be a good start.
Given what I\'ve seen they don\'t remember \"Perry\". At the moment, we pay good money for something of limited secular warez.
It\'s impossible to have a bold design that everyone likes. The only acceptable route to take, is to be AGNOSTIC, and so not to polarise opinion. ( But not grey !)
Umbro guy\'s aren\'t very secure in their job, they need to show their working\'s.
They need to show striking kit difference\'s, thinking it will force us into \"Update\" every 2years. Taste is not the criterior.. Money making is !
What they should be thinking is subtle taste = more sales.
And updated in a small subtle way next time too. Because if you ware them more, they get wornout and REPLACED more.
Given the number of folks on this site with general consensus of these kit\'s... What we should be asking is, why aren\'t we doin something to educate these short sighted money men.
gud luk
Umbro have however very slightly changed their logo (just squashed it up again as it was before they stretched it) http://blog.umbro.com/blogs/2009/02/20/the-umbro-diamond/ which could suggest it is not real...
I\'d rather believe the latter because that shirt really is shit. All I can see with the red & grey stripes is 80\'s bedroom curtains.
I still have a horrible feeling that when the players dramatically throw off their warp up tops before the next game, its going to be that monstrosity, and the nation will collectively cringe.
Prevention is better than cure !
Have your say here:
http://www.umbro.com/
. . . now that was a kit!
sod nike, adidas, umbro etc
Theres nothing about it that looks like a full kit.....thank god!!!
all i have to say is, I actually like it, if i had NIKE logo on it, on right chest then its be rather retro but cool
i agree shud get rid of any Blue, were not Great Britain, were ENGLAND
well have to wait till end of march like then well all find out
still wont buy it, to many chavvy people wear england shirts to go out in Doncaster lol, i mite buy it to play footy in summer though,
what ever happened to plain white shirt? the red sleeves are tacky and the red lining makes it worse...
It Hasnt Got The New Crest On ..
Just Saying ...
I Think Its Nice Btw , But The Price Tag Isn\'t
. :Pinch:
