Leicester City unveiled their new home kit that will be worn by the playing squad during the 09-10 campaign.

The kit, which features a one-off, commemorative club badge emblazoned on the shirt as part of the 125 year anniversary, is manufactured by JOMA.

Head of Consumer Sales, Chris Tinbergen, said: "There is a real excitement both in and outside of the club about our new kit. We have come up with the perfect mix; a traditional Leicester City shirt that is free of a sponsor, coupled with a modern design, appropriate for the Club's 125 year anniversary.

"Supporters at tonight's match will be the first to see the new kit, the first to pre-order the new kit and ultimately be the first to wear the new kit, before our general release in early July."

The new club badge features a solid gold fleck for the Foxes Head and badge surround. On the reverse of the shirt and mirrored also on the reverse of the shorts, a distinctive yet discrete embroidery emphasises the significance of the anniversary.

The hem line on the shirt is rounded, providing an improved fit, with the club badge embossed on the reverse of the shirt, above the hem line. 'Celebrating 125 Years 1884-2009' provides added detail to the shirt inside the neck and again inside the side vents to the shirt for a unique and unrivalled shirt for City fans of all ages.

Classy, glad they\'re coming back up, played well against us when they got relegated and we didn\'t even need the draw

the reason for the shirt being sponsorless is because the club chose to \"give the shirt back to the fans\" B)

we did not want a super retro kit we wanted the new elements of 2009 and a few elements of retro style from 1884.

great kit

and we\'ll play newcastlle in it :side:

Where\'s the element of retro style from 1884?

I think it\'s great that the club has decided to go without sponsorship for a season, but this seems like a bit of a missed opportunity - they could have gone with something more like the shirt Man Utd wore to commemorate the Munich air crash - except obviously in blue, and with the crest to show the 125 years thing.

This kit just looks a little cheap, a bit shiny, with the white panels up the side that are an element of retro style from about 1999.

Didn\'t Leicester produce their own kits for a few years? I reckon that would have been the better way to go here.

Good solution. Great kits for a celebration. I really like the blue tops with simple and classy details. The only trouble is Joma logo size, too big. I think it could be greater with darker blue shade as complement.

The kit itself? Nothing special, although always a welcome sight to see a shirt unblemished by sponsors. That said however, the badge is one of the best, if not the best, anniversary editions of a badge I\'ve seen, ever.

the kit aside, whoever took these pictures is a sh!t photographer. low budget lighting (trying to look epic but turned out to be epic fail), then went into photoshop and did some horrific desaturating and some really weird colour gradient editing... and those clouds... looks like a teenager who just learnt how to use his dad\'s DSLR and photoshop did it.

and back to the shirt: why the heck did they spoil the whole thing with the \"125 years\" cheap embroidery? it\'ll look so much better without it - and that font.

Very smart kit. Be good if Leicester went back to the fox\'s head in the shield for the badge though, that was very classy - sticking it in a circle isn\'t quite the same.

Decent kit that, wouldn\'t mind seeing something like that at Everton instead of the crappy Umbro template. The guy in the middle (Steve Howard?) looks like he\'s gonna kill someone in the last picture!

Would have liked to have seen the triangular badge on the shirt, plus if its suppossed to be sponsership free why do i see this logo JOMA in front of my eyes, would have been better high shoulder or lower bottom of shirt.the joma logo takes away in my eyes the badge showing CITY\'s 125 years in the league.

Definitely not original in kit design, but I like the simple look. The little touches in and around the collar are always nice.

Effectiev and quite good but the JOMA logo cheapens and chavvens it ( new word) slightly.

Nice blue and crest but with no disrespect to Foxes fans it looks a bit bare, think it might have looked better if they\'d put the crest and manufactorers logo on the sides rather than middle, like what the Albion did this this season

without the sponser, its retro and i like that idea, burnley should have done our kit without the sponser but with the white bits on the side, the shirt doesn\'t look retro at all and as someone said before, it all seems like a missed opportunity. sorry about the criticism because i like leicester city fc. good side. but the kit is all right and doesn\'t thrill me.

I personally quite like the shirt, it think its quite smart looking - But agree with some that the Joma logo goes against the theme of the shirt.. it should be smaller (if there at all)And i\'m glad \'forever foxes\' never made it onto the shirt.

I\'ll be buying one.. even if i didnt like the shirt, 125 years is definately an achievement so i would have brought it anyway.

Does anybody know what colour the Away kit will be?

Wish they would go back to having 3 kits like the good old days...
