Light blue and Brown kit for Italy

Italy will play in a light blue shirt with brown shorts and socks in the 2009 confederation cup, according to the Italian newspaper Corrieredellosport. 

FIFA has just recieved a note from FIGC with the description of the new colour combination projected by the German kit manufacturer Puma (technical sponsor until 2014) for the 2009 Confederation Cup which is approved by FIGC's marketing office.

It was the colour of the old Italian royal family before they became a republic. The standard strip is \"azzurri\" blue, which gives the team it\'s nickname.

How strange ...what is all that about . I do like the sky blue and brown combination but not for a football kit !!! I have friends in the football business in Italy so will need to check this out...Is the confed cup on April 1st ???? On a technical point the shorts won\'t need to be washed very often which is very eco friendly!

Brown! The comeback! Italy have recentlly had metallic gold as a third colour so why noty have a brown one now instead? I hope that the design in the photo is just a copy and paste job and not how the kit shall be, and also pale blue? What shade tec will that be? Good on them for trying, it will be intersting how the Ultras\' will take to it, and also if Lazio will adopt the combination the following season.
The Daily Mail will be horriefied( middle england, nostalgic for the good old days etc...).

Excellent! Italia original shirt was light-blue, because it was color of Savoia (Italian royal family - before the republic). But I don\'t think that italian confed cup 09 shorts will brown, I think (and hope) white. Italia wins World Cup 1934 and 1938 with light-blue shirt, white short and dark brown socks. I like very much \'34/\'38 kit.
