manchester-city-umbro-09-10-kit-teaser.jpg

July 18th will mark the on-sale date of Manchester City FC’s home kit for the 2009/10 season. Inspired by the club’s heritage, the new kit will benefit from Umbro’s football tailoring process, delivering performance and style on and off the pitch.

The new kits will be available for pre-order in the FSC shop soon.

Most of us have already seen the new Man City 09/10 shirts, but here are some sneak previews.

Thanks to bluemoon

From Wikipedia:

\"The red and black away colours come from former assistant manager Malcolm Allison, who believed that adopting the colours of AC Milan would inspire City to glory.\"

That explains their traditional black & red striped away kit, but I\'m not sure about the origins of the white shirt with red & black diagonal stripes. Perhaps a City fan will enlighten us...

P.S. Don\'t forget the outcry from some Arsenal fans when they introduced a white away shirt the season before last.

The white with red and black stripes comes from a successfull Euro cup win, albeit many years ago, and we had one a few years ago too. Nice kit with alot of history!

Very Very nice!

I think the white away kit has the potential to be one of the best this season.

It\'s a shame that as far as we know City will be the only club benefitting from Umbro\'s tailoring concept.

I would love to see Watford in these kits. 1960s Watford kits were awesome with the old Hornet crest!

Umbro have confirmed the only teams benefiting from the tailored in England kits are, City and England.

The white shirt with the red and black diagonal sash is the away kit when we last one something, the 1976 League Cup

I am incredibly ****ed off with Umbro over this, the fact that the kit looks great but West Ham and Sunderland have to put up with cheap ****ty template\'s, can only guess that city are paying Umbro major £££\'s in order to get a superior shirt design.

The reason we (City) are benifitting from the tailored designs is because we were Umbro\'s first ever clients back in 1934 and the Humphrey brothers who created Umbro were City fans, and they\'re based in Cheadle. Plus, Garry Cook has connections with Nike who currently own Nike.

Hmm....I cant say they look nice as I cannot see them but Umbro have recently done amazing jobs on shirts.
Blackburn, West Ham, Sunderland....I as a Chelsea fan want Umbro back....Adidas always want to seem \' futuristic \' and foreign to every country...
Nike are boring and just have the colour the nike logo the emblem and the shirt logo......NO template.
Umbro seem to have this Retro feel.....
Nice kits and more football feeling...
CHELSEA....BRING UMBRO BACK !!!!

umbro was our \'tailor\' when we first won the FA cup in the 30\'s, cook and umbro keep stressing the reason why city have this retro tailoring look as we were the first team to wear the umbro football shirts and coincidently won the FA Cup in the same year

btw citys colours are blue white and red, city always used to play with maroon tops on their socks

And for the record City wore a red kit before the scum aswell. Quality kits.

Here\'s the Manchester City Umbro story

So, today sees Umbro and Manchester City announce a 10 year brand partnership. Most importantly, it marks the launch of the new City home kit which will be available from July 18th. A lot of excitement has surrounded this announcement, but why? What is it, exactly, about the Umbro and MCFC pairing that is so special? After some reading around and asking questions here

\"And as for the record\" who the **** do you think your calling scum you stupid prick i support united but i dont say anything about city i admire city for there sheer determination to do better than there expected as well as becoming one of the most accomplished and supported clubs in england. but the sheer fact that you call our team scum is that you are jealous of MUFC\'s record of victory manchester (united) is about bringing manchester together not breaking it apart and if you cant see that, you dont understand football

MUFC, shut up you scum stain, bringing Manchester together my backside, Manchester City are Manchester, not United, United are dejected scum, a global american franchise.

City was the first team in Manchester to be named Manchester and represent Manchester, some just thought it would be funny to rename Newton Heath as a lie.

You scum will always be scum, pity Hitler did not wipe United of the face of this earth, he would have been doing England a favour.
