Manchester City 09/10 Away Umbro Kit

manchester-city-09-10-away-umbro-kit.jpg

Manchester City and Umbro unveiled the new 09/10 away kit. - The new kit will go on general release on August 15th and is available on pre-order through the FSC Shop soon. As pictured above, it’s the black kit which references the Manchester Bee.

David Blanch, the kit designer :

"All of the kits have a resonance in some way with both the club and the city. The away kit was partly inspired by the Manchester’ Bee’s industrious connotations and colour symbolism; which for me was power, strength and confodence."

"As with the home kit, colour balance is a really important factor. That said the away kit needed to look both bold and imposing. We chose to use the gold from the crest and use it at the shoulders to focus the upper body to open up the chest and define the upper torso. The rest of it is completely black. In relation to the black, this creates a completely different personality to the home shirt but both speak about the club’s heritage."

Wait, what about the one with the red and black sash? Is that the third?

Anyway, I like the shirt, nice, clean design, but I think the baseball-style collar is a bit out of place.

Is there really a Manchester Bee ??

Industrial Connotations and colour Symbolism !! what sort of mumbo jumbo is this all about

The shirt represents the clubs heritage !!! and has a different personality to the home shirt.. this is just top class utter business jargon

its not even a decent shirt.. looks like the London Wasps not the Manchester Bee\'s

Yes there is, actually. Or rather, there\'s seven of them.

They represent the industry of Manchester dating from the Industrial Revolution. So not all mumbo jumbo.

And the shirt looks very, very nice indeed. Shame the numbers will be in white rather than gold.

We have a lot of money, they have no money
We have a better kit, they have a Mexico throwback
Well win the league, they wont
Were already the best in Manchester being the only team in Manchester,
Maybe this season we can be the best in England

What is it with the Premier league clubs kits this season?
Yuo cannot call Man City a \'big\' club as despite their newly inherited wealth, they have not won anything for decades.
Another awful \'dark\' kit. Admittedly this site is about opinions, but although this kit is \'clean\' looking it does look very dour.
I thought Man City (by the way, the home kit is excellent, classic and smart) were having their traditional red.black srtipe kit.....
Adidias, Nike and Umbro - I honestly feel that you have all failed miserably this season, with templates, lack of imagination, lack of understanding what true passionate fans really care about - you have all been very, very poor - especially in a season heading towards a World Cup, one where England are very liikely to be part, and the Premier league will take global centre stage. Many of the Championship and Div 1 & 2 kits look superior. Perhaps the smaller kit designers are closer to the true passion of a regular fan, rather than a high-profile money pit of a club?

As an Arsenal fan I\'m disgusted at the sight of those money-grabbing mercenaries Kolo and Ade posing in this Abu Dhabi United kit.

That said, we got amazing transfer fees for the underperforming pair (there\'s one born every minute!) and I\'m willing to bet any City fan that my Gunners will finish above them in the league this season. In Wenger we trust!

With the class home kit that they have who cares what the away looks like. They are going to push the big four at the very least. Time for some new blood at the top. The torch has been passed in Manchester.

True rangers fan hear and i can tell you i hate chelsea more than man utd and im not alone in this. i personally hate being asociated with chelsea for obvious reasons. Dont get me wrong i hate man utd too but if you knew what you where talking about then you\'d know that most rangers fans have a soft spot for utd because of alex ferguson, walters mate. I like, most, hate the plasticness that surrounds man utd. i like city because of few things like uefa cup final, oasis, claudio reyna etc but hope all english teams get beat in europe. I have no doubt you\'re either a celtic fan or believe everything the news or some celtic fan tells you about their \'special relations\'. apart from 1, a hearts fan, all my mates are celtic fans so if you think that rangers and their fans are some kind of combo between the KKK and millwall fans then you are heavily misinformed.

Great kit. As an Arsenal fan I can\'t stand Toure and Adebayor joining for money. Then again they paid over the odds so I\'m alright. Arsenal will definately finish above City. TBH I think City would be lucky to finish in the top 6, I mean this season you\'ve got Arsenal, Man Utd, Chelsea, Liverpool, Villa, Everton, Spurs all looking real good, ..

Anyway, they chat a load of crap - Adebayor: \"The fans drove me out.\" Bull****! The fans have been behind Ade even when he did **** up. Anyway this season will be **** for him - he\'ll stary of well, get injured, then return even more ****ed up. As for Toure, wants to win the title. Haha! Is he havin a laff!?

holy fukc! they have Toure on the kit picture already!!!!!

and now for the important part: that shirt is pure class!!!!!! although it is true a lot of teams in the Prem are using black as the 2nd choice, this one\'s a cracker. love the yellow details on the shoulders and the collar.

I didn\'t realise Arsenal were running a reserve team in the premier league and they appear to be wearing goalie kits too. How amusing ! How long before Adebarndoor complains about the cold and rain and then kolo disappears to the African cup of Nations . Average kit . Manc Citeh would have been better off using a smaller company who could design them a bespoke kit to be proud of .

This season all NIke /Adidas and most Puma and Umbro kits have been very poor indeed lacking imagination and innovation.

Kit is supurb as is the home kit also.........

The current club crest was adopted in 1997, a result of the previous crest being ineligible for registration as a trademark. The badge is based on the arms of the city of Manchester, and consists of a shield in front of a golden eagle. The shield features a ship on its upper half representing the Manchester Ship Canal, and three diagonal stripes in the lower half, for the city\'s three rivers. The bottom of the badge bears the Latin motto Superbia in Praelia, which translates as Pride in Battle. Above the eagle and shield are three stars, which are purely decorative.

If any team in the world had the money that City have they would all do exactly the same, how can opening the top 4 be a bad thing it was like scottish league the same 4 team for the past 5 years. Man City are just doing what the big four have done since premier league began its just the fact that people see City not having the right to be in that situation. For me good luck to them if anyone deserves it its them living in the shadow of the most succesful team in the world for god knows how long I like city and think they dont deserve the bad press they get its nice to see a team like them shake up that top 4 and make them take notice and they have ambition and I know none of you thought they would get the players they have and that hurts alot of fans around the country. Good luck City , kit not the best.
