chelsea-09-10-adidas-kit.jpg

We showed you a leaked picture months ago, but today Chelsea and adidas revealed the new home kit for the 09/10 season, which is available here.

Just one match away from a consecutive Uefa Champions League Final when they face Barcelona next week, the call to action behind the launch, 'Every Team Needs A 12th Man', has never been more apt.

The campaign underlines the importance and the difference that supporters make to a team's success and has unique interactive features.

The shirt will be worn for the first time on Sunday 17 May against Blackburn Rovers in the penultimate league game of the season.

As always adidas has incorporated the highest sporting, technology and design standards into the shirt.

The new ultra-modern kit in traditional Reflex Blue draws inspiration from looks that have graced the King's Road over the years, especially seen in the ergonomically fitted shape, crew collar design and 'epilette' three stripes.

Layered chest panelling coupled with the 3D Formotion cut allows complete freedom of movement. Waffled Climacool fabric and mesh panelling across major sweat zones will increase comfort and ensure players remain cool and dry.

The shirt also has a new streamlined crew neck collar design with 'Chelsea FC' imprinted on rubber piping running down from the neckline of the shirt.

The new replica Chelsea adidas kit goes on sale on the 14 May but you can pre-order now at the FSC shop

This is truly awful. I saw the leaked pictures a few months back and prayed to God they were fakes. Sadly not :-( The top looks like a bra. Screw adidas. How i miss Umbro now. The kit they made when we won our first league title in 04/05 was truly amazing.
I urge all Chelsea to sign a petition to keep the current shirt one more year. Someone make the petition too im too lazy

0 # 2009-05-01 13:52
aww mate then you\'re not a huge fan!

a petition won\'t work, because it\'d be really embarrassing for chelsea or adidas to say, sorry, we\'ve released this kit but it sucked so we\'re gonna make another one, just give us a week and plus you think they\'ll listen to us little fans?

adidas made the best kit, it was the 06-08 kit, it was brilliant... then the previous one sucked with the stupid collar then this cycling bra design...

Terrible template. The stiching makes it look like a cycling shirt, I can\'t see what it\'s benefit is. It neither looks good or functional.

Loose the stiching, make it v-neck and you\'d have a real winner.

The bottom of the shorts is stupid also, why can\'t shorts be like shorts?

I kinda like the Orange Goalie top :-p And i think this is the Away goalie top, they might keep the orange one for another year.
Also, i cant see how you can feel good looking at the top new blues.

Terrible, horrible...

Gibberish to English translation:
\"Layered chest panelling coupled with the 3D Formotion cut allows complete freedom of movement.\" == BREASTPLATES!!!

Sorry adidas but I know this is during the economic recession so maybe you can\'t hire some good designers, but this template is not exclusive to Chelsea -- like what the did the last time and before. It\'s getting cheaper and cheaper. This one looks so tight-fitting -- are they cycling or what!?

The shorts are the same old style. Why can\'t they just do some different cuts like the 06-08 kit, or at least erase some of the stripes like what they did to the jersey (which is ugly, but at least there\'s some consistency).

I do like Petr Cech\'s goalkeeper shirt, it looks great... now if the home kit was like that. The decorative lines on the GK shirt somehow looks similar to my adidas running t-shirt here:
http://pid.adidas.com/catalogue/au/product/E13415/adiSTAR-S/S-Tee-M

oh well. I still think the 06-08 kit looks the best. That was when they designed the FIFA 2006 world cup\'s kits so the templates then were top notch.

like it or not, this year\'s was classy and traditional. the new one looks horrible... an ultra-modern disaster. i never wore a bra before, and since im a guy i dont think it would be too comfortable... so why would adidas think that a man would want a sports bra sewn into their shirt?

too bad chelski didnt stay with umbro, if they just had a blue version of the new england kit they would have the best in europe.

When I first saw the leaked pictures of the new adidas templates, my thoughts about them were mixed. They don\'t look very traditional, but after giving them more time, I seem to like them more and more. My only complaint is the lower seem on the chelsea shirt. it looks completely out of place. I think we will be seeing a lot more chelsea players and fans folding their arms next season.

Ur shirts will always suck cause u have no history therefore adidas cannot link ur shirts with ur history as they do with Liverpool and Nike with Man Utd. 5 years ago u were not sure if u were going to stay in the Premier League and now u expect to have something new in ur kits. **** club no history

I always had an appreciation for adidas. However, they are SO running out of ideas it isn\'t even funny. Those chest panels looks TERRIBLE. The three lines cut on the sides look bad; I much prefer the classic continuous lines.

This whole change kits every year got old LONG AGO, and manufacturers are doing some crazy sh&t to keep going... nevermind the World economy makes it hard to spend all that money on replicas every year. Might as well take a plain t-shirt or polo, buy a shield and sew it in.

adidas just should remove this bra template and keep the current collar and the shirt will look nice.
and the adidas stripes are cut off because of liga regulations (there should be a patch on the sleeve).

At least we have a contemparary, original template & not a bog-standard, also-ran, everyone-else-has-it template...!! I will cry till I die if Derby & Boro\'s is the same template!!

Plastic censoredney spastic glory hunting c*nts.....

PS: I love adidas\'s disrespect for the Chelsea badge by not having it in the right colours on the GK kit..... The words \"iron-on\" spring to mind...!

PPS: I also love adidas\'sdisrespect for CFC by picking 3 typical inbred Es*** chavs to model the kit.....!! That\'s the only thing \'local\' about the whole kit...!!

If you don´t like the design why should you buy the shirt then? You can support your team with the jersey from the last season right? Buying this ugly shirt, will only show to adidas that they can do every crap and the fans still will buy it to support their team. Wear your old shirt and don´t buy this bra-crap.

Horrible shirt.

However, I wish people wouldn\'t try to be clever when reviewing shirts.

I was unfamiliar with the word \"epilette\" so I looked it up. It appears that is something to do with hair removal. Does this mean that wearing this shirt will remove 3 lines worth of hair from my arms (and shoulders in Richard Keys\' case)?

I think the writer mean \"Epaulettes\", which is the formal name for the stripes on the military, police and fire service (I looked this up as well). Comparing adidas\' trade mark to the rank of such people is a joke. I author should have said \"eye sore\" stripes.

I wish we were still with Umbro.

It\'s decent..I agree that 06-08 shirt has been the best Adidas one so far but I like the current one with the Collar. Problem with this one is that it looks a bit too foriegn....A bit too futuristic and a bit too ott....I have grown to like it admittedly but still looks a wee bit NON CHELSEA if you understand...

We needs a shirt like Peterbrough 08-09 shirt.....That one looks quite Adidas - Chelsea like...

Has anybody heared the Rumour Chelsea are in talks with Umbro(again) and Puma about succeeding Adidas ? I dont mind what one we sign a deal with but I have always loved Umbro.

wow, this thing is utter horsesh**e.Adidas really out did themselves with making something hideous this time around

I always buy Adidas before I will even contemplate anything by Nike, but at least nike knows how to design a traditional football shirt. Even Chelsea\'s gear this year is a pretty classic design, same with Bayern\'s, and now, they bring out this Sprotsbra kit, complete with fake \"zipper\"

no way i am going near this.. I\'d buy something from the Primera División de México complete with 45 different sponsors all over it, before I\'d buy this sportsbra/kit combo? Looks like Adidas won\'t be getting any of my money this year

Does Chelsea have a woman\'s team, maybe this kit had them in mind??? yeah?

This is not the shirt of the football team, right? It seems like a rugby shirt. Differente from usual.

Gervillian Swike- Liverpool are not making new shirts son. Big teams like Arsenal, Man Utd and Liverpool who carry a tradition throught the years in English football change their home kits every two years. Chelsea follow the tradition of small clubs like Sunderland,Tottenham etc. So shut ur mouth boy and show some respect

Saw them play in it last week, beautiful kit, they got of the shiny stuff. Very classy and Mikel\'s long sleeve pulled up style works well with this design.
