UPDATE 23-3-2009: Real Leaked England shirt here
This seems to be the new England Home shirt for the 09/11 seasons made by Umbro.
The new England kit will be officially launched on April 1st, but there is a good chance that this will be it.
Thanks to Ben!

Brazil, then Italy and Germany all celebrated their winning three World Cups by emblazoning three stars on their shirts. It was a symbol of a great footballing achievement.
Then, France won in \'98 and decided they should have a star too, but just the one. After that, everyone followed suit.
As it stands, England\'s star is nothing but a reminder of failures ever since 1966.
The shirt looks like training kit. Get rid of the red sleeves and it would be OK.
Personally, I\'d like to see them doing away with the blues shorts in favour of white.
What stupid comments, Chuck.
And the shirt looks like a 6 year old has drawn it.
Modern football is rubbish, not like it used to be.... yada, yada....
this will be my Facebook profile\'s quote for a week. lol Chuck !
Here is a www.vivadiego.com/beso_86.jpg picture of Maradona lifting Argentina\'s second World Cup (that means they have already won on, in 1978, in case you are too stupid to work it out). Where\'s the star?
Here he is again. celebrating in \'94 www.vivadiego.com/greece.jpg. Where\'s the star.
\"Brazil added three stars above their crest after winning their third World Cup in 1970. Italy did likewise in 1982. All world champions have since followed suit. Uruguay display four stars, regarding their triumphs in the 1924 and 1928 Olympics as equivalent to their later World Cup wins, as there was no World Cup at the time.\" - Wikipedia
I'm talking about one star. As I said to begin with, it started with Brazil in 1970.
Uruguay may well have done it with their four stars, but no one showed off just the one win until France did.
Here is a picture from Italy v West Germany in the 1982 World Cup Final. Can you see either badge including two stars? No, because it was something a country did when they had won THREE World Championships. http://www.fifa.com/mm/photo/classic/matches/1982_ita_ger_02_2047_sq_large.jpg
Here's Beckenbauer lifting Germany's second. www.fifa.com/mm/photo/classic/matches/1982_ita_ger_02_2047_sq_large.jpg see a star? No. Because it wasn't the done thing until you'd won three.
Germany, again, with no stars on their shirts.
Here is a picture from this very site, of England\'s \'82 World Cup Shirt. [img size=200]http://a545.ac-images.myspacecdn.com/images01/72/l_ca63c36ca2681c10a091a390ba2cc670.jpg Yup, you guessed it. No bloody star.
In fact, here are the England World Cup shirts up to 1998:

www.classicfootballshirts.co.uk/images/England-90-Home.jpg

and here is the 2002 shirt:
www.uksoccershop.com/images/england_home_200507.jpg
anyone spot anything? Yeah, only the last one has a star.
And just to show it\'s not just England, here\'s Argentina in 1998:

and 2002:

I rest my case.
Not that I\'m obsessive...
(Though maybe it was a FIFA directive and not the poncey French, I know not).
Wouldn\'t want to have a retard like your feeble-minded self liking what I wrote, would I? It is how it is. It is a poncy affectation the French started. I\'m not backing down on that.
Why don\'t you head off out now, drink some effeminate alcohol and throw some bricks at your local paediatrician. Those Oxford University entrance exams won\'t pass themselves.
Loving that Burberry you got off the market, by the way.
eh?
What a stupid prick
I don\'t see why we shouldn\'t recognise that achievement just because we haven\'t won it since. I certainly don\'t see it as a reminder of failure.
Judging from your comments it clearly strikes a nerve with you, perhaps you should start a campaign to force Manchester City to have the three stars from their crest as they are there purely for aesthetic reasons.
Alternatively you could lighten up.
very interesting to read all the comments! I was slightly horrified to see the above pic (grey?) and hope I
right in saying that this ISN\'T the new intended England kit. This may be a training top, or even just a
complete hoax, some moody top made in a sweatshop...
Here is a link where Umbro give us a taster of the new badge.
http://www.offthepost.info/2009/03/new-england-kit-teasers/
this badge isn\'t featured on this shirt and as this is the main feature of the new England shirt, I
believe the above is NOT the new shirt...let\'s hope not anyway! The new shirt will have an old style
collar as well, I hear!
and
HHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
needs some blue bit too much red
Englands euro96 top was the best !!!
umbro sign should be on the over side as well
but overall much better 7/10!!!!
Fraudulently?? Minus that goal, and we would of still one 3-2. Mug.
http://todosobrecamisetas.blogspot.com/2009/02/exclusiva-camiseta-umbro-de-inglaterra.html
England is not the United Kingdom as the blue makes us by looking like the Union Flag
That\'s a rhetorical question, by the way.
Looks like one of the \"fake\" ones you can buy down the local market or in the far east!
Bloody awful!!
Haha, now England will be even more of a laugh with this terrible top.
Éire Abú!
I don\' think Umbro is pathetic... but this shirt is a giant delusion.
The st.George\'s cross shield on the back of the collar makes the shirt seems so cheap..
and what about the grey in the collar?
and the red Umbro logo?
and the logo positioning?
and the red badge outliner?
and the sleeves?
horrible horrible
WORST England shirt EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i dont think its too bad, but england needs to get it over with and switch to nike already.
They bought Umbro in 2007.
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/business/7057577.stm
i dont think its too bad, but england needs to get it over with and switch to nike already.
Umbro\'s owner, Nike, should design the shirt, because Umbro don\'t have a clue.
This shirt is terrible and not even worth £5! If this shirt is real then I suggest all England fans should refuse to buy this crap!
Aye, but the Ireland top still looks better. But I\'m sick of Umbro to be honest. We should go back with O\'neills!
If this is seriously what Umbro has produced for England then I suggest we all do the same!
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/QR_Code
What a lame shirt. It really is like a training shirt.
Arsenal is the best GOOL with the best shirts GOOOOOOOOLARIIS GOOOOLEEEE.
Second of all, what in the holy hell have Umbro been smoking? There\'s just so much wrong with this I can\'t even decide where to begin, but the sleeves seem like a good place to begin because they absolutely blow. Using a splash of red sparingly is what makes an England home kit (the last 2 have both been very good examples of this), but this one has far too much. (also while it might seem like a nice clever design touch to sublimate the crest onto the sleeve, that\'s precisely where the World Cup logo will go, so the effect\'s going to be lost).
And grey? Answers on a postcard please. Or is it \"indigo blue\" like back in 1996?
When the Chelsea kit got leaked this week, my first impression was the same as a lot of other peoples - looks more like a cycling jersey. This, on the other hand, if not for the England crest then you wouldn\'t know what sport it related to...
I like the little touches of grey but there is far to much red on this top.
I personally think our shirts look better with more blue than red but they have slowly been working there way to more and more red over the years on each shirt so its not like i didn\'t see it coming.
The red trim around the badge is not needed in my view either because of the fact the Umbro logo is above the badge so it makes it look cluttered. I don\'t mind the logo above the badge because it makes way for having the number on the chest, which it is why its probably there in the first place anyway.
So basically i hope this isn\'t the final design and they take off the red trim around the badge and reduce the amount of red and put more blue on there.
FINGERS CROSSED!
If this is real, I won\'t buy it for my children.
For too much red.
Complete and utter failure by the designers.
It probably will have white shorts as red and blue don\'t go together. Blue shorts are best though,
maybe they will show it for the first time on april 1st then when the players come out of the tunnel they will be wearing something that looks a billion times better.
It is known that English designers, aren´t so good as well!!!
Tommy look, look for Italian designers, and you will get quality designs!!!
The more I look at it the better it looks, but the initial shock of those ridiculous sleeves fills me with disappointment. Deep down I feel it\'s not a football shirt, it\'s a training shirt.
I hate the Umbro badge above England badge, both on the same side. The red outline of the badge is just wrong. The use of grey makes it look fresh and modern, but too much like a training kit.
The collar, apart from use of grey, is ok. Reminds me of Sir Alf\'s jacket in 66.
The star on the shoulder and the shield on the nape are vile notions.
The infrared thingy - like the morse code on the current home shirt - clever, but why?
By simply moving the Umbro Double diamond across and eliminating the red on the sleeves, this shirt would be drastically improved.
April 1st would be a good day to release this joke.
As training shirts go, it\'s okay.
Just tried it clumsily in MS Paint, and it looks a lot better!
The red Umbro logo would warrant the red border round the England badge.
Without it, the Umbro logo would have to be blue.
A richly ironic phrase to use from someone from one of the most singularly obnoxious and indeed racist little countries on the planet. Do you wonder why the English (and not the Scots, Welsh or Irish) are hated anywhere they go?
Oh, and the new shirts awful.
Long sleeve will be interesting, I wonder what colour the numbers will be? surely not red and the shorts must be white?
only thing bothers me is grey/silver is was a bad omen for england
I wonder what nikes designs for the next 2 years look like.
I think everyone is a little shocked by the mass red sleeves but i think its a new change and better that than the same old crap, the last home shirt was awful like a used tampon with that red line on it.
only thing i dont like is the stupid code thing and star on sleeve as someone stated the WC badge goes there.
Maybe time to start supporting scotland!
Fed up with team In-ger-lund led by a load of £100k a week scumbag chavs run by an corrupt and inept FA. Time to support Scotland i think!
http://www.uksoccershop.com/images/england_rugby_0607.jpg
It fails on four counts
1 - it does not look aggressive, or imposing at all. The world cup 1998 or 2002 shirts did, but this just looks plain and invites no emotion.
2 - it does not look \"England\" you dont look at this kit and instantly think of England, just a bland template that colud be worn as the Lincoln city home or Birmingham away
3 - it does not hark back to the great england kits, such as the \"world in motion 1990\" kit or the early 80s kits.
and most damming of all 4 - for a break from the tradition or keeping it, it does not look striking, pretty or arouse any proud emotions.
2 out of any of those four and youve got a good england shirt. three and youve got a great one. All four, and its a classic
if it is not too late, the designers at Umbro should look at past england kits, and see what made them so great.
I HAVE JUST NOTICED SOMETHING!!
I think the \"GREY\" may be SKY BLUE!!?!!
I don\'t know if its just me but the way the lighting is on the photo makes it look like grey but it is actually a pale blue.
Please say i am wrong....
If it is then they can\'t even get the right censoreding blue right! i actually quite like the fact it has grey on it but if they have put sky blue and instead of navy then that just takes the piss!
more bad than the current away shirt by a mile - and thats bad
why cant they just be nike now they own them ?
i guess sports world will have some fun with the millions of unsold shirts for £3.99 in 6 months time
Absolute horseshit. Complete and utter garbage. Whoever designed this deserves a swift kick in the pants and a right sacking.
1.) More NAVY BLUE than RED.
2.) The STAR ABOVE THE BADGE.
3.) The UMBRO BADGE on the OPPOSITE SIDE to the ENGLAND SHIELD.
4.) GET RID of the RED OUTER-LINE from AROUND THE BADGE.
I think they are the major points that need to be addressed but otherwise your no where near to a shirt that will be bought for its enitial retail price and will most likely be on sale for £6 at the nearest Sports Soccer on the \"Clearance Sale\"
If the border around the england badge was the nice grey tone from the colour and so was the umbro logo, it would look a lot better. But i really really think it would look a whole lot better if the umbro logo was on the opposite side.
I do not hate it though?
Weak.
Past few seasons shirt is nicer ...
Not sure about that, seems like Nike, Adidas,Umbro designs nowadays totally out.
I was hoping for something like the away shirt
however it is an improvement from the last one
I think they should put the umbro thing on the side and put the star above the badge, also they should get rid on the red thing round the badge and get rid of that thing in the bottom left corner picture, what the hell is that? one good thing is they are ditching blue and going with red, which is the\'re national colour.
Just as well too since this shirt is......well, the less said the better.
Oh and by the way, this article and the previous update both clearly state the launch date is the 1st of April, when England play the Ukraine in a qualifier - NOT the friendly on the 28th of March with Slovakia. Thank you for playing but you\'re not a winner.
And Ryan, April 1st is when the shirt will be available to the public. It will be unveiled for the world to see when they play Slovakia. Thanks for trying, though.
Looks very plasticky
England kit = White shirts with red numbers. Navy shorts. White socks. End of.
To simplify it....
White Shirt with Navy Trim.
Red Numbers.
Navy Shirts.
White Socks.
That is where Umbro should of started from to make the majority of people to like the shirt and actually buy it unlike the last one.
I a little bit of Red trim but i personally prefere more Navy trim than red so Im hoping that this is just a teaser just for either Umbro to get feedback from the people or just to take peoples thoughts of what the actual shirt will look like and stur up some controversy before the actual shirt is released.
I know that the England team have been photographed in the new shirt so people have seen it but they seem to be trying extremely hard to impress the the whole country after the last shirt was so poor and also they are trying extremely hard to keep it under raps so \"im hoping\" that this is just a teaser (training kit to put people off what the actual shirt is) rather than the actual thing.
Poor English fans, you always lose on the semi finals on the tournaments, plus you have been using ugliest kits in the planet for all the time...
A thank you!..
I can\'t beleive everyone is so stupid and is falling for such a classic spoof! wake-up everyone
My point is lets not judge until we see the real thing, i\'m sure
This is-to me- the most ugliest england shirt ever.
Was up to buy one but NO
NO NO NO
CRAP UGLY
look like a fake jersey~
is it design by NIKE?
no way blue shorts can be worn with these...
however curious to see how the long sleeves would look...
I can\'t beleive everyone is so stupid and is falling for such a classic spoof! wake-up everyone
My point is lets not judge until we see the real thing, i\'m sure
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHHA
pause for breath
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAH
Why oh why should the manufacturers logo sit ABOVE the England crest, are they really saying that a clothing manufacturer is more important than an entire footballing nation.
The shirt should be a simple white shirt with the three lions crest on the right, it doesn\'t even need the word England above it, it\'s the same as The FA, it was THE first. Everyone else needs to seperate theirs from ours with their nations name along side it!
The Umbro logo should be embroided in white, suble but class. Sitting their as a gentle reminder of who makes the kit, but certainly not emblazoned every where in technicolour.
There should be no more silly red flashes everywhere, shadow logos, silly and patronising St George\'s flags...it makes it so contrived!
Simple. Look at the classic kits around the world that we love and long for...
Brazil 1958, 1970
Italy 1970, 1982
Germany 1966, 1970, 1974, 1978, 1982
Argentina 1978, 1986
France 1978
Holland 1978
Man Utd 2000
Forest 1979
Spurs 1981
Ajax 1970\'s
C\'mon England, dump Umbro and switch to someone who respects the cause and understands whats right.
The new England kit will be officially launched on April 1st, but there is a good chance that this will be it.\"
note the bit in bold writing you tools!!!!!!!!!!
APRIL 1st
Grey? WTF?
The red outline to the crest looks like a kid designed it.
Big fat miss. Only thing this does is make the current shirt look ok!
New kit is usually launched in a corresponding match - which for England is usually the first game in Spring
It\'s fake anyway...please god its fake...
*sob*
I hope it\'s fake shirt. :Pinch:
Bad luck!!!!!
That shirt is
:woohoo: lol
Fake? A hell of a lot of effort has gone into it if it\'s a fake. We\'ll see...
that my friend is a disgrace
uergh
for crying out loud give it a chance. in six months you\'ll wonder how you ever hated it
A
APRIL
FOOLS
YOU
FOOLISH
PEOPLE!!
This says its the shirt is going to be released on the 1st April when in actual fact its being released on the 28th March so it doesn\'t take a rocket scientist to work it out.
But to be honest i wouldn\'t put money on it getting better than this so if peoples expectations were already low which they most probably were then this as good as it will probably get. They will probably shoot themselves in the foot by bringing out an even worse shirt than this so brace yourself people! brace yourself!
Pretty crappy shirt for poor old England!
thank you..
Abdulrahman from saudi...
This is the most innovative kit since Nike\'s fantastic Total 90 set in 2004.
HAHAHA. FOOLS.
Would a company like Umbro, already struggling on the back of their biggest national team clients not making it to Euro 2008 and then retailers PANNING their last England away as not very good (I like it but my opinion isn\'t what matters), already without a deal with a single Premiership big 4 side and only ONE team from the former G-14 (Lyon), already limited in scope by not having any other sports in their portfolio to fall back on and only a modest share of the leisure wear market, and also dealing with the same discouraging financial climate, really commit resources, to setting up an April Fools joke that a) could have negative impacts on the standing that as I\'ve already detailed is a bit tarnished, and b) would have very little scope to become a successful publicity stunt? The Umbro brand could disappear forever in those circumstances.
This isn\'t an April Fools joke because this isn\'t the time for companies one bad quarter away from dire financial trouble to pull stunts like that. What it is is a genuinely experimental design born of desperation on Umbro\'s part not to just fade into obscurity as the Nike-Adidas duopoly expands, and one that is not going to be well received.
To be honest i could give a shit because all manufacturers are all the same and produce the same kit for every other country and team and not make them individually to get the actual history or style of the teams they sponsor.
If they do make a unique shirt design with the style of some of the legendary designs then it will be a very very very surprised man.
To get back to you Ryan, most of the shit on here is a load of made up bollocks created by people that have to much time on there hands anyway so its bound to create different views hence why companies also create things like this to put people of the sent of what the actual shirt looks like.
I\'ve probably repeated myself like 20 times now but thats because Im extremely bored and have nothing else to do! bye!
it isn\'t the shirt though. LU3Y prepared to be surprised.
and remember they are now owned by Nike.
After many years of hoping for a decent England shirt Umbro have prepared the country nicely to produce never ending shit shirts now that everyone will be expecting it!
Oh thanks for reminding me!...i forgot to add earlier that now that Umbro are owned by Nike i doubt that they will have much money problems unless Nike get rid of them (which is probably most likely after there constant appalling designs).
I JUST WANT A A NICE ENGLAND SHIRT!
PLEASE GRANT ME THIS ONE WISH UMBRO....PLEASE! haha. (not going to happen!)
THIS IS DEFINITELY NOT THE NEW ENGLAND SHIRT FFS.
http://www.footballshirtculture.com/09/10-kits/leaked-new-england-shirt-not-genuine-says-umbro.html
YOU just read that link mr ryan idiot features.
but, oh my days, the collar and the sleeves of this shirt look like from an eastern european team kit in the 80\'s.
i\'m wonderin how the shorts look. i bet they are tight and way too short.
anyway.
please umbro don\'t take the piss.
By the way did somebody know if the red kit 2008/10 will be the one they will use for the world cup 2010 in case they qualify?
Thanks!
oh hold on , change the word gorgeous to sh*t
As Usual Umbro release pictures of a \'Fake\' England shirt,
so that factories in the far east can begin to copy it, and get it out there.
Then the police can sting them all, and save Umbro a packet in
lost shirt sales abroad.
Clever!
This is not the new England shirt,
the new top has a Collar-
a \'Taylored by umbro in England\' Badge on the bottom left,
and looks like a far more classic shirt.
Can\'t wait!
COME ON THE LADS!
them pics looks like a fake training shirt looks shocking lol
I saw the actual shirt for the first time today. Very nice.
GK shirt looks good too.
In case you haven\'t noticed, that proposed England shirt which thankfully isn\'t being used is a disgrace!!!!! Look at the material, that is clearly an unfinished product, there are no other textures for the underside of the pits, that\'s how you can tell it\'s not finished..
HELLOOOOOO!!!! The star should be the least of your worries. This England kit has grey on it!!!! I don\'t care what you guys say, grey is a terrible colour to use on an England kit, on the back of a shirt when the design is that poor. It just doesn\'t look right. Talk about crazy, I mean the sleeves are fine red but for goodness\' sake, don\'t make it look like that! They look like something from PES! (maybe Arsenal\'s design, white stripes! lol)
HELLOO! The design, seams the very seams define Umbro\'s poor reputation, because like the Liverpool shirt, last season, the white lining was the seam, Arsenal 04/5, the yellow lining was the seam, the fact that all the navy\'s been ditched is poor, not least the fact the crest, umbro itself and neck are red!
It won\'t be used, for a start, the crest wil have no Englend on the top, a banner on the bottom, instead and the crest will be a brighter blue, besides, I have heard Capello has been in on the design and the makers of the shirt have gone to the England footie museum in Preston to get an idea of what TRADITION in England looks like so they can make a totally inspirational Englend design, this is comepletely the opposite.
I think we\'re looking at a training top.
sam hollyoak
http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/news/article2336325.ece
i\'m not buying
i just think this england kit as absolutely crap, y do we have such bad designers???
Also what sad **** has botherd to make this............loser
and also at the end of the day we have a star for winning the world cup even if we did only put it on in 2003
the real kit is well lush but it will be interesting to see if englands away kit will be like the real home one just in red?
see what i mean.
the new top is plain white with a massive umbro badge left to the emblem, and yes, there is still a star.
