The Newcastle Jets have unveiled the club’s Hyundai A-League 2009/2010 season kits made by Reebok. Established star Adam D’Apuzzo and youngster Sean Rooney this afternoon wore the new strips during a photo shoot along Newcastle Harbour.

While the first-choice strip retains the gold jersey, navy shorts and navy socks that Hyundai A-League fans have become accustomed to, the Jets’ alternate strip is decidedly different to anything the club has worn in the past. A navy jersey, embellished with gold and red trimmings, sits atop white shorts and white socks for this season’s new alternative kit.

Club chief executive, John Tsatsimas, today expressed his excitement regarding the new-look outfits.

“The new season kits certainly do look fantastic,” he explained. “We’ve maintained the tradition of the home strip by keeping a similar look to previous seasons. We felt that this was an important image to continue with as it comprises a significant part of our club’s identity.”

“The alternate strip is something completely different to what the team has worn before, it gives us something totally fresh, so I’m sure that the supporters will appreciate the change and become fond of the new look.”

“Now all football fans, including myself, will be eagerly awaiting the new season to see these kits out on the pitch,” Mr. Tsatsimas said.

Thanks to Kurtis

You haven\'t actually looked at any this year then, have you? Victory have their V, Perth and Wellington have stripes, CCM have 3 big stripes...how on earth can you have seen them and make a comment like \"They all look the same\"?

it is truly fitting that they used ****ing replicants to model these dull kits. anyway, the Jet\'s kit colors suck major ass, so in this case, I don\'t think all the fault is on reebok.

I\'m actually not against the colors. Red, gold, and dark blue seem all right to me. I just wish that the trim would have been more significant, such as having more red on the blue shirt. I actually like the gold collar though. Without extra trim, however, I have to agree that it looks bland.

Uninspiring. Frankly, I would have expected better from what is most likely the best team in the world called Newcastle.

Nice kits. What\'s up with all the negative comments here all the time? Is this place full of designers or is it a contest who can be the biggest twat?

I bet the English Newcastle fans would kill to have a kit as bland as this instead of the yellow and white monstrosity

I hate gold kits. They can make kits look cheap. A lot of teams these days are adding gold into their kits when gold is not even in the club colours. The last scotland home kit added gold instead of the normal white, why?

yes, thank god. Bring back umbro or introduce nike or adidas. The scotland kits have been crap recently. Diadora kits are poor quality and don\'t have anything spectacular about them

The team had nice red+blue colors. I don\'t find any relation between this dark blue jersey and the old one as \"Newcastle united\" . The gold is not a basic color for a kit.

Its safe and boring. Not a bad kit by any means, but really uninteresting.
