Peterborough United confirmed that the blue home kit and green third kit will stay the same with a brand new away kit for the 2009-2010 season.

Following the tremendous success of the last two seasons Darragh MacAnthony and MRI have negotiated to extend its Shirt Sponsorship deal with the football club for another year.

General Manager Leigh Porter commented:

'I am pleased to be able to confirm that the new away strip will contain a blue and white striped shirt in the style of the club shirt worn between 1977-79. The blue and green shirt designs will stay the same as we were keen to honour our commitment to the fans to keep each shirt for two seasons, the black is being replaced.

A full range of 2009/10 training wear is currently on sale and all three full replica strips are well on target and an on sale date will be confirmed soon. The new strip will be completed by black shorts and sky blue socks,' Porter said.

Chairman Darragh MacAnthony commented: 'Having thought about the situation and the two external sponsorship offers generated by our Commercial team since we were promoted, I decided I wanted to see the MRI logo being proudly worn in the Championship. Our new kits, especially the changed away kit will look superb and I'm looking forward to seeing them when they are released.'

Thanks to Mark

This kit is that bad it rivals the classic pizza/sick Thomas Cook shirt from the 90\'s we all loved!

Ahh, adidas always give out, no matter the team, cutting edge templates to even the lesser lights in England. After the bang up to date shirt for Swindons home, this one is just so now :cheer:

God, talk about showing comtempt for the team. why could they not at least have a new template. Ross County got one for heavens sake, why not PUFC?

Which is more sad, that Peterborough accepted an old teamwear kit, or that they actually took the Pro Direct Teamwear photos and stuck a badge on?

Posh had an Argentina style home strip in the 70s, and there are Posh fans who had requested a return to this design for an away kit. The club have listened, and here were are. Normally I would be annoyed that we\'ve got an old template, but I\'m really not bothered this time because its a decent template and I love the design.

Old teamwear kit with a badge on.

Just shows contempt for the fans and the club, a real shame.

Posh marketing department should be put in stocks outside the ground every saturday for the rest of the season, so the fans can explain how they feel about being ripped off.

What\'s next for the home kit? Buying a job lot of 05/06 Chelsea shirts from eBay and pritt-sticking a Peterborough badge on the front?
