Portuguesa unveiled the new 2010 third football shirt made by Penalty. Associação Portuguesa de Desportos is a Brazilian football Club from São, founded on August 14, 1920 by the Portuguese population of the city.

On the chest the shirt shows the Cross of Avis. The Cross of Avis represents the Portuguese independence from the Castile Kingdom, which happened after the Battle of Aljubarrota, on August 14, 1385.

The shirt was option 3 in a Kit Vote which you can see below:

It looks like a t-shirt for a heavy metal band. I don't like it.

Make sense!...Cavalera is the brand of Igor Cavalera, the Sepultura's drummer and band leader.

It does look like a t-shirt...and in that respect, I like it. But not as a jersey.

It's an impressive design from Penalty. I'd like too see more manufacturers do what Penalty and Adidas are doing and brake away from the simple kit designs, placing great detail and a more visual style into their product.

In the era of tight-fit shirts and pink boots, this is one of the manliest kits ever designed.

Really dig the whole medieval feel the kit has, especially the front print and cross. Reminds me of the 08/09 Adidas Marseille argyle away shirt, which was about as daring as this.

This is a design that would be ruined by a chest sponsor.

9/10

This goes to show that MMA is a very popular sports right now - even football shirts copy the MMA design!!

Yeah I agree. It looks like an Affliction t-shirt. I wish it looked more like a sword rather than a Christian cross. I really want to keep religion and sport completely separate....

Portuguese culture is very near of the religion, since ever...so they use the cross for a lot of things...but de team dont have nothing with religion...its just a soccer team...

Maybe the cross cos they have links/have been founded by Portuguese immigrants and Portugal has the cross(in that shape)as a kind of coat of amrs(even on their shirt)so does brazil have. Am not sure if its linked to religion, but heritage..

Somewhere there's a very annoyed atheist soccer fan in Portugal.

Also, Affliction is lame as hell.

And so is this shirt.

this is a nice shirt guys, you can't deny that...the only problem is many of us are consumer whores and we identify with brands..we've been conditioned to be that way....

what I don't get is what's with the doubleheaded eagle? A sign of byzantium, though many cultures have adopted it as their own (like the albanians)
