These are the new Red Bull New York home (available here) and away (available here) shirts made by adidas for the 09/10 MLS season.

The Red Bulls have outdone themselves in the design for the 09/10 MLS season, with the sleek mandarin style collar on the new jerseys - it's one any New York fan will want to wear over and over again.

Features embroidered team badge, and adidas logo across the chest, and MLS patch over right sleeve, so you know it's a genuine MLS team jersey

designed by adidas with cool mesh panels and moisture-wicking ClimaCool fabric sure to keep you cool and comfortable throughout the entire MLS season

The team is a founding member of Major League Soccer (1996), but has gone through several name changes. The team was originally known as the New York/New Jersey MetroStars through 1997. From the 1998 season until right before the 2006 season, the team was known as simply the MetroStars.

On March 9, 2006, it was sold to Red Bull GmbH, and the name of the organization was changed to Red Bull New York while the playing team was to be called the New York Red Bulls. The sale of the team was controversial among its fans, similar to the situation in Austria, where Red Bull bought SV Austria Salzburg and renamed it FC Red Bull Salzburg.

as for the kits- i haven\'t decided if they are awesome or totally hideous. i need some time with that. but i will say this, at least nobody can complain that this is just another version of some boring adidas template

honestly, the first thing out of my mouth was \"these are the ugliest goddamned things I have ever seen\".
Now, I know that\'s not true, but after just viewing the pure class of the colorado kits, it\'s hard to give these a chance.

They\'re not that bad. I\'ve seen much, much worse. You know, like anything ever worn by Aston Villa.

This is just plain ugly. Its almost as if the shirt was designed to fit the enormous Red Bull logo! It looks like a bikers shirt, it doesnt belong in football....back to the drawing boards for Adidas this time....

The Red Bulls wear blue jerseys on the road. Doesn\'t make sense to me.

It\'s probably because of Redbull\'s logo. If they had red jerseys, their obnoxious huge logo across the chest wouldn\'t stand out. See the red bulls.

A mess. Certain aspects might look good as part of a simplified design. It can\'t make up its mind whether it\'s a cycling or a rugby shirt

They do look like cycling shirts -- but I like \'em. I just got a white Red Bulls jersey last season, but I am going to need one of these. Different, indeed. But very cool.

Hmm, I don\'t really like these ones, it must be the sponsor that spoils it to me.
This seems to be Bayerns new home shirt, which shares the same template with NYRB:

I like the new Bayern kit, the template looks good on a Bayern shirt.

Red Bull......its not a sponsor. its the owner.... and the team name.. so.. its a design element......either way.
its a SHITE shirt (both of them)..
Last seasons were class.. these look heavy and alot like rugby shirts.. and rugby is shit.

I agree, the template looks good on the Bayern shirt. Maybe it\'s because it doesn\'t have a giant wraparound logo on it.

What are you talking about, did you just copy and paste a press release. These kits are terrible. No one wants to be a walking billboard for Redbull. These look ridiculous. As someone who consistently sticks up for the RBNY and the MLS, they sure aren\'t making it any easier.

These are awful, the management has no clue. Bring us a second team so I can forget this ever happened.

Saw the Blue ones in a warm up game - looks very nice, on the other shoulder is an american flag, not sure if that will be standard on the shirts they sell.

GOD! For the longest MLS fans have been complaining that we don\'t ever get anything different from the same stale Addidas template, and now that something new FINALLY comes along, we censored.

Rename the MLS the MLB for MAJOR LEAGUE censoredING!

@ me

Yes they will be the new jerseys for the next season.
In the German Bundesliga both Bayern and Schalke play in similar jerseys.
First I didnt like them.

They do look a bit like Rugby jerseys, but when you see a football player
fully dressed up in them, including shorts and socks, they can look awesome!
Also because football shorts are longer than Rugby shorts.
