This is the new Shamrock Rovers Home kit that will be worn by the team in their first game in their new stadium in Tallaght in West Dublin on Friday night.

Shamrock Rovers, Irelands most successful club have been renting stadia since their famous old ground Milltown was sold over 20 years ago.

On a 'back to the future' theme, the new home jersey will have full hoops all around the shirt. Unlike previous years, there will be no white panel on the back of the shirt. Lettering on the lower back of the jersey remembering Milltown is a special touch added by the Umbro team that links the last time we played at 'home' in Hoops with the first time in our new home as the Rovers team will wear the new strip in Friday's first match in tallaght.

Jonathan Courtenay – Director of Football for Umbro Ireland commented

“We are delighted to be launching the new Rovers kit in an Umbro store at the fantastic new ground. The stadium has been a long time coming and as a Shamrock Rovers fan I am personally delighted to be involved with the whole process behind this particular shirt. We have paid homage to the old ground with some text on the rear of the shirt and we have tried to keep the design “Classic Rovers Hoops” for their first season in a new home. I would like to wish the board, the fans and everyone involved with the club all the best in the years ahead and roll on Friday…and Wednesday for the kit launch, keep on hooping”

The first game in Tallaght Stadium against Sligo Rovers at 8pm on Friday will finally see “the Hoops” coming home and the game is already sold out.

The new UMBRO home jersey will go on sale on Wednesday 18th March at 1pm, exclusively through UMBRO outlets; at the brand new Umbro Football Supporters Store at Tallaght Stadium (opening this Friday) and from the UMBRO FAI store on Westmorland Street in Dublin City centre.

I don\'t quite get the use of two different shaped logos but the simple yet styled design isn\'t to bad. I think the small collar cut higher up toward the back of the neck is the best part of the kit with it\'s retro tipped edges.

A case of Umbro releasing the kit without realising they\'d forgotten to design it!

just google Rovers and it\'s clear that this isn\'t a fake. New kit for a new stadium. When Umbro made both kits, they usually used the same template

Celtic is not only team that uses \'green & white\' kit.

Anyway, I think this kit is nice, isn\'t it?

It\'s not a Celtic or Sporting Lisbon jersey  , it\'s Shamrock Rovers....an Irish club and we have a Yellow Star above our crest as we have won our National League 15 times. We are the most successful team in teh Republic of Ireland and have just moved into our new stadium and our new \"Umbro\" club superstore has also just opened.

So if your ever in Dublin, drop out to see Shamrock Rovers....the real \"Hoops\"!!!!

The pride of South Somerset also wear green and white hoops altho\' I prefer the old all green shirt look myself...and I probably wouldn\'t wear Yeovil\'s shirt north of the border for fear of misidentification...

This shirt is very much like the current Celtic one. Not a fan of the collar design but still pretty good.

> Mr Yeovil Jamie, didn\'t your team also sport green shirts with white sleeves? You can wear that north of the border any day you like!

Hey Hibs Forever:

Your guys ditched the Irish affiliation eons ago. Your team last wore hoops in 1879 (that's right, 1879) and Celtic picked them up in 1903. Never can quite grab ahold of the correct marketing/branding concept can you?

Can't beat a Celtic team in freefall so what does that say about your club? Crap

Its a shocking price for a micky mouse tallaght football team. Give the kids that support you a break for gods sake, you have an awful long way before you can compare to man utd or chelsea.
