Sheffield United are gearing up for the new Championship season by making their new 09/10 home kit available to buy from Saturday 4th July.

United's strip, the first from Italian kit suppliers Macron, will exclusively include 120th commemorative branding to mark the club's anniversary season.

And in response to feedback from supporters, the home shirt will include red and white strips on the back.

Also, it will be the fifth successive year United have held prices on replica kits.

Shirts are priced from £30 (junior) and £40 (adult), shorts are £15 (junior) and £20 (adult), while socks are £7 (boys), £8 (youth) and £9 (adult).

Even though it\'s made by something called \"macron,\" I think this is a much better design then last year\'s LCS kit. The collar could be a bit smaller though, it\'s a bit 70\'s.

The best feature is the sponsor. The maltese cross looks great on the shirt.

I like it it. Well proportioned stripes and a good looking polo shirt type collar. Also the Maltese cross logo actually adds to the overall look. I wasn\'t first convinced by the stripes extending on the back for the number / name but it\'s growing on me.

Macron are indeed big in Italy. I think they make / made kits for Bologna and other serie A sides.

I was apprehensive when i heard that Macron was going to be our kit supplier but IMO, this is one of the better shirts we\'ve had in a while.

Plain Red and white stripes on the front, and most importantly from my point of view, the back is striped as well. Never have liked the \'front striped-back plain\' shirts of previous campaigns.

The Collar works well but The placement of the \'Macron\' logo\'s on the sleeves lets it down slightly in my view. I also would have liked to see the sleeves striped. The shorts are decent but possibly would have been better plain, and again, better without the big Macron logo on each hip.

Overall, this shirt isn\'t bad at all and a definite improvement over last seasons.

i think the shirt is classy. it\'s still annoying that way smaller clubs like southend, macclesfield and wednesday get sponsored by adidas nike and puma though.
Reply | Reply with quote | Quote

0 # 2009-07-06 10:54
You are deluded nike puma and adidas donot sponsor any clubs outside the big for in this country. They flog cheap team wear catalogue items to companies who distribute kit and run the smaller teams club shops.
