Sheffield Wednesday unveiled the club's new home kit for the 2009/10 season designed by official teamwear partners PUMA.

Having recently announced a new six-year partnership with PUMA, the sportswear manufacturers have worked quickly to produce a classic design for the Owls' home kit which will be worn by the first team from this summer onwards.

The shirt is also emblazoned with the Children's Hospital, Sheffield's logo after Sheffield Wednesday gave the next two seasons' kit sponsorship to the local charity.

Sheffield Wednesday chairman, Lee Strafford, said: "I am proud that we are able to unveil the digital design for next season's home kit so soon after securing our partnership with PUMA. I think the design they have produced, showcasing the Children's Hospital logo, will become recognised as a vintage Wednesday kit and will prove very popular with our supporters.

"Seeing the design brings home the fact that we have brought together three outstanding brands in Sheffield Wednesday, PUMA and the Children's Hospital. This is something that makes me very proud and I think the new home shirt will be one that Wednesday fans around the world will wear with pride."

The new home kit will be available for supporters to buy in June and £1 from every shirt sold will be donated to the Children's Hospital Charity to mark the club's partnership with the hospital.

Sheffield Children's Hospital Charity Director David Vernon-Edwards: "This is an historic occasion for the Children's Hospital. We are very proud to be associated with Sheffield Wednesday and greatly looking forward to players and fans wearing the badge of the best children's hospital in the country on their shirts!"

PUMA UK's Head of Sport, Richard Callaway said: "We have worked closely with the Club in developing a really strong and exciting new range of Sheffield Wednesday home kits. This will give PUMA great exposure within South Yorkshire and we believe that everyone involved with the Club will be proud to wear the new kits."

The physical unveiling of the new home shirt will take place at Hillsborough in the coming weeks.

The design for Sheffield Wednesday's new away kit for the 2009/10 season will also be unveiled in the coming weeks.

I imagine there will probably be a few small changes before it\'s released, but overall not too shabby. Still prefer this season\'s, though.

I think it is a very good thing that they did not try to include the \'V\' insert as it would have completely ruined the kit. I do not think that there is anything wrong with a club of Wednesday\'s history wanting to retain a classic look and this apperas to have been very nicely done.

Clean and simple design equals very effective and pleasing to the eye.Kit manufacturers who want to sell ship-loads please take note.
Owls fans should be happy with that kit.

I think more bigger clubs should follow suit. I think the £1 from every shirt sale donation to the Children\'s Charity is to the great credit of our club!

I recently visited the Emirates Stadium on a fundraiser for the NSPCC and was asking for memorabilia from each ground that we got to, to raffle off, with all money going to charity. Arsenal wouldn\'t even give us a plastic bag from their club shop!!!

Well done the Owls and WELL DONE Lee Strafford! You are well on your way to becoming a legend!

When I found out our new kit manufacturer was Puma, I hoped for much better. I thought Wensdy would learn that our Chuppa Chup shirt era (similarly bad sponsor/charity emblem). Other than that, shirt is tidy.
