Sunderland have revealed the clubs new change kit for the 2009-10 Barclays Premier League season, which will be officially launched at 6pm on Wednesday 8 July at the Stadium of Light, and will be available in the FSC Shop.

The modern, clean design features a predominantly white, round-necked shirt. This is complimented with impactful carbon sleeves with a contrasting sulphur trim. Sulphur panels also feature on the back and sides of the shirt, which has a shadow stripe emboss to the front and back.

The shirt is complimented with white shorts in a lightweight, durable woven fabric. The shorts feature carbon panels to the sides and sulphur on the lumbar panel.

White socks, with a carbon and sulpher turnover complete the clean visual aesthetic of the new kit.

Several features of the away kit replicate the home kit,  including a performance crest housed within a shield to enable a clean finish to the inside of the garment, enhancing the comfort of the wearer. Additional club related elements include the inner back neck transfer detailing the garment lifespan and the Black Cat application to the back collar area.

SAFC marketing and commercial director, Lesley Callaghan said: "The new kit is a bold, modern design and the striking use of colour makes it ideal as a leisure shirt for the summer. It has already been very well received by our players and I'm sure the design and I'm sure it will prove popular with our fans."

Thanks to Dave.

i HATE this kit, its hideous, what\'s with the yellow?! I didn\'t like the home kit either but it\'s miles better than this monstrosity. Looks like I\'ll have to buy the home kit now

\"Looks like I\'ll have to buy the home kit now\".

Or not. No-one\'s forcing you to buy any kit. Why not wear an old one?

I like it, a nice contrast from the traditional looking home shirt. Im glad to see umbro attempting to give each team a different style and not one bog standard template. this top gets

This kits is well nice. Really like how the yellow fits in with the rest of the shirt. They wont bring a 3rd kit out they\'ll just use next years 3rd i think.

This kit is one of the better ones so far this year.

It\'s definitely NOT Everton\'s kit.....or Chelsea\'s for that matter. Or in fact the leaked version of Man United\'s kit. Compared to THOSE kits, this is amazing.

It\'s a bit brighter than the old one. Should be able to pick out their team mates better. So the predict Sunderland\'s away form will improve next season.

It\'s an away kit, so not necessary it wows the pants off everyone. All in all, not too bad compared to some other kits recently. At least they got some color on the sleeves. True comment someone made about he yellow. Seems like Umbro got that idea from Nike\'s Juventus kit for 2008-2009.

That is what i call a ugly football shirt. This could be the definintion of it in a dictionary.

Unbelievable. No style, colors suck, looks unbelievable sh.i.te

1 points out of 10 That is 1 too much! :woohoo:

This kit is actual allright, but where did the yellow come from, but at least it has never been don e before so I dont care. It would of been better if they were red though  also red pinstripe would of looked decent
But football aint no fashion contest, seen as cisse has now left, or we need to do now is either make madrid buy ronaldo or cripple him for the rest of his life :woohoo:

The socks have a special release date. They\'re getting a grand unveiling, complete with press conference and 2-hour feature on Sky News. There\'ll also be a 12-page pull-out in The Daily Mail to commemorate the momentous occasion.

No, it really is Sky News. These socks transcend sport. This is a story of national importance. It could be the most significant football sock of the 21st century. The eyes of the world will be on Wearside this summer. I haven\'t been able to sleep thinking about these socks! :woohoo:

Why blame Umbro?

Sunderland dont HAVE to have those colours they must have chosen them themselves.

Club not manufacturer!

i would have gave sunderland a gold coloured kit this year...sort of like juve\'s one

and why a white kit? the stripes on their home are white, it doesn\'t make sense when teams do that, to me...
