Excuse me, knobhead. Talk of \"templates\" is completely understandable.

The way kit manufacturers dole out these mass-produced kits, all with the same TEMPLATES, just coloured material depending on the club/country shows a lack of respect to the clubs and countries they are priveleged to be providing kits for and an absolute disdain for the fans who buy the shirts to support their teams and in doing so line the pockets of these lazy \"designers.\"

Barely any time, care or effort has gone into the design of the kit, it\'s more like \"Swindon? What colours do they wear? Oh, give them Template #162342 in red and white then. Job done.\"

Now, not only is this new Swindon kit a boring, uninspired TEMPLATE Adidas have given to hundreds of other teams, it\'s a TEMPLATE from two years ago. Adidas wouldn\'t dream about giving an outdated TEMPLATE to Real Madrid, Chelsea or Liverpool. Adidas are taking the proverbial with kits like this one.

but then it is a business world--smaller clubs like Swindon don\'t have many fans outside the local crowd, and the die-hard fans would be buying whatever the company make anyways. put the two together and you have templates. why occupy your artists on something only thousands would buy if they can be designing for something that will be seen on frontpages around the world and sell in the millions?

as for the \"privilege\" of designing a club\'s kits, it really is just a mutually-beneficial business contract.

Yes, I could do a lot better than this. Adidas have simply dug up and old kit nobody uses anymore and stuck a Swindon badge on it. It\'s insulting.

I completely agree with all the comments that adidas are ridiculous giving out an old template no matter how bad they think shirts sales are.

Please post some designs in the fantasy kit gallery and show us you\'re more creative than them

What a pointless thing to say. Presumably you have films that you like and dislike? I\'m sure you can tell when a film has been well made and has creativity and artistic integrity to it? And I\'m sure you know when a film is just a poorly thought through sequel, knocked out with a poor script and sub standard actors just to make money? And presumably you\'re not a film director?

the pattern may be old, but it\'s not exactly out of date. The colours, sponsors and player lettering all complement the ensemble. IMHO Better than another Lotto kit.

Golpe template?

This is the problem most will have about old templates

http://www.prodirectsoccer.co.uk/prodinfo.asp?PID=PDS-052-001-592&DEPT=052&BRAND=001&SS=1&AFFID=76

They\'re picked up for next to moting by the club printed and badge sewn on, then knocked out for £35 to the fans.

£35 for a 3yr old shirt, no thanks :s

Sure it\'s a two-seasons-old template, but adidas will never change (probablly, in two years swindon will use the current template -Spain, Palmeiras, et al, or that Chelsea/Russia body armor ). In truth, this kit looks great in those colors.

Perhaps they gave Swindon this template because Middlesbrough already got the new template in the same colours. If they had given them the new template and then they had been promoted this season then there would be two identical shirts in the same division.

Perhaps... just guessing really though.

Possibly true but here\'s a crazy idea: how about Adidas put some thought into Swindon\'s kit and give them something original?

It\'s really funny to read all the critics on kit designers and manufacturers (boring, no imagination, uninspired, nothing new, bla, bla, bla) and when checking the fantasy kit desing section where someone would expect to see all the groundbreaking, inspired, history based desings talked about here, you find your self with the same, or even worst crap...

...Interesting

It looks pretty swish to me. Personally I don\'t like the distracting white pattern on the front but the 442 logo and badge give it a good overall look. Template or not I\'d be pleased if I followed Swindon which (as a Yeovil fan) I don\'t.

It may be a template but it does look a good Swindon kit.I thought though that 442 had stopped sponsoring them and some other company is sponoring them now.
The club badge looks suspect on these photos and I suspect the badge will fall off after a few washes!

Like we didn\'t expect an old template for swindon then ! But I was suprised to see one this old there were Ryman league and Southern league teams wearing this last season . Somehow I don\'t think Adidas deal directly with Swindon and its probably through an agency......

Thats my point Roginho....

Why on earth would a fan spend £35 on a teamwear kit?

You can get the same without sponsor/badge on pro-direct soccer for half the price. A badge costs a few quid... A replica kit with no garish sponsor for £20.

Wether thats a good or bad thing is for swindon fans to decide, but personally I think the club have a cheek charging that much for the shirt.

Who really cares if it\'s an old template or not?

Many of the so called \"new kits\" in the Premier League over the last few seasons have been rehashed designs from the 80\'s and 90\'s anyway.....

JAJA, BEST REPLY EVER....

I DON\'T DISLIKE TEMPLATES...THIS TEMPLATE SUKS BUT IMAGINE THE CASE OF ADIDAS MAKE A GREAT ONE, MAY BE LOOK NICE WITH YOUR COLORS...

BUT....I THINK IS INSULTING GIVE A TEAM AN OLDER TEMPLATE, LOOK LIKE ADIDAS GIVE A F*** ABOUT YOUR CLUB...IT\'S REALY INSULTING.

Nice kit. Sponsors are nice, colour and design are nice.

To all you going on about templates:
a) its a nice template so get over it
b) I\'m fairly sure teams only get a boring template design, if that\'s what they agreed. They don\'t just let Adidas walk all over \'em. A team in Coca-Cola League One or Two isn\'t going to be their number 1 priority over the likes of Chelsea and Liverpool and when Swindon signed up to Adidas as their kit manufacturer I\'m pretty sure they\'d have been told this.

So yes, its a template, but its a nice one! And they\'re a lowly League One/Two team (I forget which and I\'m too lazy to check) and so they can make do with a template, just as long as it looks good...LIKE THIS ONE DOES!

haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
recycle the possibilities are endless
but tbf that is a nice kit where as hereford are sponsord by admiral wtf we left nike for admiral just so the club would sell the shirts cheaper tbh no one cares if the prices are £ 40 or around ther and any way it will only go down a few quid , but that is a nice kit good luck swindon btw simon cox is goin 4 2 million 2 west brom apas.

C\'mon this is just taking the utter p***, yes its a nice design (template) but my gosh to use it this season from two seasons ago is beyond me. This just shows the lack respect from adidas to swindon town. Andy couldnt of put it better himself, he said \"it\'s more like \"Swindon? What colours do they wear? Oh, give them Template #162342 in red and white then. Job done.\" now that is highly believable what the lazy designing gits at adidas actually do. They look at the lower league teams (swindon town in this case, no offence) and literally look at the colours, look at their catalogue of template and just select one and job done. Same goes with nike, puma and umbro...basically for shame on the big guns of kit suppliers. just to show the appreciation for the club to select that kit supplier they should have like individual and unique designs which that club should desire, lower league or not. Wake up!! and kit suppliers such as diadora, errea, canterbury and lotto (who are poorly represented) actually come in with the beauty designs...just my view really

To people complaining it shows a lack of respect or whatever, what about when Umbro and Bukta churned out plain t-shirts with club badges back in the 1970s? Does anyone really care if another club has a similar shirt to their team\'s?

I think the kit looks good, generic template but it does the job. The away has EA sports as the main logo and 442 on the back.

Wish my club had decent sponsors like that.

Swindon aint a club that can afford a new \"real madrid\" or \"chelsea\" style template. they need to have the \"two year old \" \"out dated\" template for it to be econiomically viable for the club.

Two good sponsors,a top of the range kit manufacturer. This club is going somewhere.
