watford-09-10-joma-kits.jpg

Watford FC unveiled the new 09/10 kits made by Joma. 55% of supporters voted for the Hornets to play in an all black strip on the road next season.

The all white strip option came second in the vote with 28% with the blue kit back in third with 17%.

With new kit manufacturers Joma and new shirt sponsors Evolution HDTV, the striking black kit with yellow trim and side panels is sure to be a hit with Watford supporters.

Following supporters' decision to go with the black shorts in the home kit and the all black away kit, there will be a need for an extra change of shorts for a few away games next season when the home opponents wear black.

On these occasions the Hornets will wear red shorts which although not chosen in the vote we know will still be popular with a lot of fans!

The new Joma training wear range will begin to arrive shortly and will be available immediately online and in the club store.

Why have the fans chosen an all black away kit when the home has black shorts & socks? It\'s just stupid. The home should have red shorts and socks - the traditional colours of Watford.

And how come the press release pictures make it look like it\'s raining??!!!!

The kit is awful, let\'s just get that out of the way first.

The real shocker is what\'s going on in the promo pics. Racial warfare? WTF?! I am absoultely baffled at these bizarre pictures. Who came up with such an awful idea?

The all black kit Idea is getting a bit stale now, but with Wolves and Norwich now in different divisions, I dont suppose it will be worn that often. I agree that the home would look better with red, I think they may be the second choice shorts.

In the voting, I think the problem was that the side panels and the shorts matched in all of the choices. therefore there was no choice of a shirt with black panels and red shorts, or red panels and black shorts. I think the shirt would have looked better with more red on it.

Its okay I suppose

Im amazed the sponsor on the home kit actually makes the shirt look better by adding some more red to it!
The two black shorts is just retarded...

Indeed. It\'s supposed to be like one of the Matrix films when Neo fights an army of Agent Smiths.

However, it\'s idiotic that the pictures have been spliced together to make it look like a battle between whites and blacks. So, is the \"race war\" angle intentional?

the black player at the front is wearing a black shirt and the white player is wearing a yellow shirt so they have obviously to balance it out but this is a release of a new football shirt so anything else shouldn\'t have to be brought up in my view

The promos show an army of white men facing off against an army of black men.

Am I really the only one who finds this appalling?

Looks ok, but definitely not the best I\'ve seen for Watford. The away kit is a bit poor.

We are going to have a second pair of shorts in red for when the occasion is needed.

I think many fans agree with those who say that Red and Yellow is the traditional colours of Watford, they were when we were at our most successful periods, brief though they were.

However nowadays, and in my opinion, yellow and red looks a bit camp perhaps? Yellow and black a lot more menacing

Think you\'ll also find that four players feature, Don Cowie, Ross Jenkins, Aidy Mariappa and Lloyd Doyley and that the two photos were done seperately and put together on this website. I think racial warfare was far from the minds of the Watford people.

I realise that many are focusing on the supposed race issue - but I also think it\'s daft as it appears that Watford are going into battle against......... Watford!

The kit looks good but the promo \"guru\" should be made to walk around Vicarage in a Spall kit that\'s two sizes too small!

bit baffling having black shorts for both home and away......the only difference been a small yello panel on the away shorts ?!?
...were the fans really involved cos surely you wouldnt vote for black home shorts.

Nearly as daft as Hull last year having dark grey 2nd kit, when the only team we would really have a clash with was Newcastle. We ended up wearing Newcastles 2nd kit shorts at St James. Embarrassing

Home kit looks pretty good although the away is a bit rank especially the collar. Should have gone with white....ooops according to the promo pics I might be inadvertently racist there !¬

Absolutley disgusting, both of them.

The sponsor looks stupidas well.

Jona should stick to making boots. Awful effort, Although the colours are rancid anyway.

It\'s okay to have the same coloured shorts for both HOME and AWAY, but to put different details on them to emphasis which is which is just ridiculous. Why can\'t they have the same short design for both? Make out that it\'s a money-saving measure at the very least.

Black shorts for both HOME and AWAY but designed differently. Rip off merchants.

As an \'Orns fan I must say these aren\'t bad...

But...

Why the same-coloured shorts? Laziness.

Why, for the FOURTH SEASON RUNNING, the kits\' templates are identical? Laziness!

The Club are asking decent fans to shell out £35.00 for two of the same top but differently coloured. Would you spend £40.00 on two identical t-shirts but one was red and one was white? No you wouldn\'t!

The 05/06 Diadora kits were great, they were different, but all the others have been OK but lazy.

Just a brief peice of history for those who are not aware. Until 1960/61 season Watford wore Blue and White, somet years a plain blue shirt, sometimes a half/checkered similar to Blackburn or Bristol Rovers and our name was \"The Blues\". In 1960/61 they changed to Yellow and Black though until 1977/78, when GT requested a third colour \'red\' be added to the strip. For a few more years we wore yellow/black/black with red trim but GT thought this made us look sluggish. So they changed to red shorts circa 1982. However the name \"The Hornets\" should reflect a more yellow/black colour in my opinion.
As for the new kits and the same home/away template, that is a very fair point.
I would like to see a kit similar to the home design next time but perhaps a Milan style red/black stripe for away, adding the red back into the colours as we are offically a yellow/black/red club. Just an opinion - I also understand these new kits by Joma are very nice and good quality.

I keep voting for red shorts but this seems to be continually outvoted by black. We should be yellow and red home and all black away. If we (regrettably) are going to be yellow and black home, we should be all red away, but this wasn\'t an option put forward. Other away options put forward were all white and all blue - both retarded.

On the plus side, pre-ordered shirts were only 20 quid.
