West Bromwich Albion 09/10 Home Umbro Kit

west-brom-albion-09-10-umbro-home-kit.jpg

West Bromwich Albion have unveiled their new Umbro home kit for the 2009/10 Coca-Cola Championship season.

The new home shirt is based on the club's traditional blue-and-white-striped design and has silver detailing.

It has a cross-over rib neckline and a seventies-style WBA monogram on the back collar area.

A navy aperture has been added on the reverse of the jersey to enhance the club's bespoke silver-and-white numbering and lettering, which is exclusive to the Baggies in the Football League this term.

The shirt will be worn with white shorts, featuring navy panels on the sides, and white socks, embellished with navy pinstripe hoops.

The strip incorporates Umbro's state-of-the-art Climate Control 'Nano' technology, which enhances the movement of moisture away from the body.

The home kit will go on sale in club stores from 8am on Saturday, July 4.

Nice and simple.

Looks a bit plain without a sponsor though.

I can\'t believe there are actually people who think kits look better with sponsors on them.

\"Oh yes, I think this kit is great, but what it\'s missing is the nice, big, vulgar logo of some online casino or Asian airline or Japanese electronics company on the front.\" :silly:

I wish more people would look at it like that, if a club can survive financially without a sponsor why not, i think they take the focus off the actual kit itself, the first thing you see on most kits is the sponsor, I love the new strip...Boing Boing

Paul I agree, but there\'s an exception to every rule, in this case:

The Newcastle home shirts that had the blue star on them.

The silhouette of the Newcastle landmarks was class.

What a shame when they started putting beermat style brown ale logos on instead and then worse switched to NTL.

I was getting real sick of yanks asking me if I worked for T Mobile or give them directions to the nearest T Mobile store or the always classic and hysterically funny \"what, do you make money for wearing a T Mobile shirt\" a knee slapper every time. You\'d think the yanks had never heard of team sponsorship...

Awesome- Im no WBA fan but this is fantastic

I really wish umbro had applied this collar to the Hearts home kit, great simple collar for a footy shirt.

Come on Umbro, sort out the crappy designs some teams get from you. I dont like it all generic but the range in your designs at present is baffling

it is literally a shirt of 2 halves

the front is 10/10 simple yet stylish and the collar is nice
the back is ruined with the big blue area and the tacky silver strip underneath!!!! should be striped all the way round.

overall 7/10 n im a villa fan

Very simple but highly effective.

It\'s weird how kits do look \'naked\' without the sponsors these days...

And credit for the \'action\' photos!

the beauty of sponsors depends on shape of letters. For example I disapprove bwin but I like Fly Emirates, with these wonderful italic letters

I thought last year\'s West Brom kit was the best in the league, so it was always going to be a hard act to follow...Umbro appear to have done so by re-creating a mid-80\'s feel to this shirt, to follow the late-70\'s feel to last years. So I suppose it kind of makes sense - but like it though I do, it reminds me of the mid-80\'s Newcastle kit; those stripes are pale black aren\'t they, not navy blue?

One of the best Umbro tops around at the moment. It does seem \"second class\" compared to the Man City tailored kits. A classic \"Cyrille Regis\" 70s WBA top would have been great.

Why oh why did Watford choose Joma over Umbro?

From the front the kit looks good and is very reminiscent of that mid-80\'s kit with the No Smoking logo on it. The back is completely spoilt by that big navy bit, even more surprising given the last 3 kits made by Umbro all had proper stripes on the back.

That\'s why they call them the boing-boing Baggies.

Have they replaced Tony Mobray yet? They\'ll need a decent manager if they are to come back up. The Championship is a very competitive division.

I think it looks fantastic. Normally I\'d say red name & numbers suit Albion kits better, but these silver numbers look great, and really suit the silver trim on the shirt.

Very nice kits. WBA usually has nice kits, though, and this appears to keep in that tradition. And the comment on the collar is quite right - it is very nice. Umbro gets my vote for this year\'s best kits in terms of design, quality, styling and colors.

Great kit.Like the 70\'s style WBA on the back of the neck.Pity the stripes don\'t continue on the back with a white panel and red numbers.
I remember the Ron Atkinson WBA of the late 70\'s/early 80\'s,great team and great kit supplied by...Umbro.Funny that.

I\'m a Wigan fan and I think this is one of the best kits I\'ve seen for a long time.

You guys are so lucky not to have a sponser ruining the front of your shirt like our new sponser ruins ours.

Bring back sponser-less football shirts!

And good luck in the Championship next season

Speaking as an Aston Villa fan, this is an excellent kit! But the reason they don\'t have a sponser is because they\'re so ****.
Reply | Reply with quote | Quote

0 # Ben 2009-06-30 20:41
Listen HolteU25104, Villa have a shirt sponsor in Acorns which is a charity right? So they basically don\'t get any money for it. So they are no better off than West Brom in the amount of money they get from shirt sponsors. So please think about what your putting before you do because you just look very stupid. The kit looks brilliant! The colours that West Brom have on their kits always make the kit look nice.

I think West Brom will find that Southend United were the first club to break away from the traditional football leauge lettering...

They had Silver with a Sky Blue Trim from their Centenary in the Championship Season.

They now have White with Silver Trim for their current strip
