Wolfsburg 09/10 Adidas - Think Blue - Away Shirt

VfL Wolfsburg supports the "Think Blue" Campaign from its sponsor Volkswagen and plays the last two away games of the season at SC Freiburg (April 25) and Borussia Dortmund (01 May) in a blue away shirt.

The German car manufacturer has launched a new marketing campaign for its BlueMotion series of vehicles in an effort to send out a message about sustainable mobility.

According to Luca Meo, head of marketing at the Volkswagen Passenger Cars brand, the goal is to establish “Think Blue” as a firm feature of the brand’s ecologically sustainable activities. An international slogan has been chosen he said, because environmental protection “knows no boundaries” and the campaign is in line with the company’s values to be innovative, valuable and responsible.

The new advertising campaign will build a bridge from the past to the future and follows the “Think Small” campaign that earned international success for the Beetle in the 1960s. According to Volkswagen, it is a symbol of the brand’s achievements and the challenges that face the industry going forward with the manufacturer hoping to lead the way.

The Think Blue campaign kicks off today with print advertisements, which will then be followed by web specials, an e-game for iPhone and iPod Touch, TV spots and brochures.

The VfL Wolfsburg is the Team of the VW-Factory, owned by Volkswagen. Volkswagen is no sponsor, they are the owners!!!

Maybe they want to provoke Dordmund by playing in blue. (blue and white are Schalke's colours who are Dordmunds biggest rival)
