Glasgow Celtic 10/11 Home and Goalkeeper Kit

Here are the new Glasgow Celtic home and goalkeeper shirts made by Nike for the 2010/11 season.

The new kit released today at 12pm in Glasgow is the first to feature the new Tennant's sponsor logo. The famous green and white hoops completely surround the shirt as is traditional. The hoops appear to be the same size as the previous kits but with the colours reversed so that the Celtic and Nike swoosh appear on top of a white hoop.

A new touch to the kit is the woven pattern found within the green hoops which reads '1888' at a diagonal angle in a slightly abstract manner. Gone is the yellow trim which featured on the previous season's kit and is replaced by a black trim which can be found on the collar, cuffs and Nike swoosh.

The shorts are predominantly white with a green stripe down either side broken apart by white slits. The back of the shorts similar to the shirt features the word 'Celtic' around the small of the back. The Celtic logo most interestingly is joined by a logo of the club sponsor, Tennant's for the first time, in red with a gold and black outline.

The socks contain two green hoops running around the centre of the socks while the Nike swoosh and Celtic writing lie inbetween these on the front and back respectively.

Celtic's home goalkeeper kit comes in yellow green colour this year with a lightning bolt effect running down the sleeves similar to many club goalkeeper kits produced by Nike will be for the coming season.

Following on from the Carling initiative, the child's replica version of the kit also comes sponsorless as to promote responsible drinking.

its because rangers have the 5 stars for 50 league titles, Celtics one star is the uefa cup win, but they would have to make that one star different from the other 4 if they were to add thier league wins too. but it could look good with more stars

Not a fan of sponsors on the shorts. Especially a red T on a Celtic uniform. However it seems to be the coming thing. Some Championship strips have a front and rear sponsor.
Pretty soon the kit will resemble a NASCAR auto

Tell me I love the lord. What club do you suppport?

Because if it isn't Man United or Liverpool then in terms of size and fanbase within the UK they're nothing next to Celtic, so unless you're not being sarcastic and I've mistook what you're saying then shut it.

Love the strip... the 1888 incoporated into the green hoops isn't as obvious in the flesh as it is in those photos, so overall its a belter.

Pat - The fact that it is "red" shouldn't be a bother. The fact that it is there at all is the issue. Get shot of Nike? And go to whom? Umbro? They are owned by Nike. Adidas or Rebok? Another two headed monster.

With Celtic, when you only accept several colors (green, white, gold and black) it limits the options. Nike could have delivered a polo style similar to the Umbro Rangers but then nobody would have liked that either

Nice kit I think..hate the sponsor on the shorts tho thats a bad sign of whats to come in the future, its alot more interesting than the past few boring Celtic Shirts tho not alot can be done with hoops...its just a shame Its worn in a league that just about matches up to the quality of League one, with easy access to the champions league which is the only reason Celtic stay in the SPL.

Patrick are you taking the piss?

What do you want them to do? Pink and black hoops? Our colours are green and white and we play in hoops. In what way is the Rangers top more original and stylish? It's a plain blue top with a white colour and it's like fvcking rugby top.

Honest to god.... every time we release a new home top you get this shite... do Ajax totally change they're designs? or Inter, Real or Liverpool? No they don't.

yeh i agree, if the kits were different every year, celtic wouldnt be unique, but if they stayed the same every year, no one would buy the tops, they can only change the design in limited ways, its like the first shirt with the carling sponsor, that shirt had gradient hoops, everyone thought it was odd but it turned out to be a pretty good shirt, i think this tennents one is stylish.

Also, the goalkeeper shirt is brilliant. I'm loving the arm-stripes.

Walshy you're entitled to your opinion just as I'm entitled to mine. I don't want to see the hoops changed or broken but I'd just like to see something a bit different, maybe green shorts for a season?? Barcelona have been alternating between scarlett and blue shorts the last few seasons so why can't we?? We're stuck in the last century..let's move on ffs!! My main gripe is with Nike though, they've really taken their eyes off the ball when it comes to football kits.

Why must everything be religious, sure it makes a big deal in the Rangers-Celtic derby, but what if this guy is an atheist who happens to like the way Celtic play? I mean come on, Ajax are a large Jewish team, but it doesn't mean they must have an alliance with Spurs, just let the guy support who he wants and stop bringing religion into everything.

I very much like this shirt.

The 1888 logo, as previously mentioned, is a nice throwback to the Umbro diamonds Celtic had in the hoops in the late 1980's.

I also like the collar, the 1st Nike have added to Celtic's shirts, another nice retro touch.

All in all probably the nicest Celtic shirt (sorry for the Carlsberg reference Tennents!) Nike have poduced upto now!

Re the first kit itself. Not bad at all but for a few details.
No need for black trim on the collar - It's Celtic not Sporting Lisbon.
Could the Tennants logo not have been fitted on a single hoop?
And yes the green looks a bit bluey.

"Torres 9". I think you'll find myself and Mr. Rodgers wrote it as part of the musical Carousel.

Celtic fans actually sung the song in the terraces first but you keep believing that because Gerry and the bloody Pacemakers covered it, that it was Liverpool FC. Next you'll be claiming that "The Fields of Anfield Road", as if that made any sense, is another Scouser original.

The Tennent's logo on the shorts probably won't be there when the team plays. When a player signed for Celtic when we were sponsored by Carling, there was a small Carling logo on the back above the name, but it wasn't there during matches. If it is going to be on the match kit, at least make it green...

vertical stripes are allowed to some degree, it think spacing is taken into consideration.
however celtic with horzontal stripes must have the UEFA imposed back panel...

Just remember this though when your sugar daddy Abramovich gets bored and he will, you'll be back to where you belong in the doldrums and all your glory hunting fans will disappear with him.

Celtic are and always will be a bigger club than Chelsea and can you tell me how many European Cups you've won again? What's that? None?

Fvck me. Even Nottingham Forest have won it. :D

Aye, but I bet Forest and their fans don't harp on about it every two minutes and have f*ckin benefit dinners every week. How long are you skag addled wife beaters and your shameful child abuse scandal hit club going to flog that dead horse?

By the way the tops shite.

nike is doing horrible kits this year, but this one is not bad, probably because it's hard to make a celtic kit look like crap.
maybe the black inserts were unnecessary..I can't say if the green is like the wonderful 90's green.if you don't like sponsor i think Celtic will continue to sell Shirts without..
and yes chelseabluboy: what the [censored] are you saying?give this club the respect it deserves

I like the colour scheme but feel they should add more stars over the badge like the Glasgow Ranger kit, that would look nice.

fanny- that one star means a whole lot more than winning a 2 horse race

Haha, no it doesnt. Of the top of my head:
Italy-Stars for domestic titles.
Germany-Stars for domestic titles
Holland-Stars for domestic titles.

Celtic put a star over their badge after Rangers put five over theirs. They felt so inferior they had to hark back over 4 generations to find something of note. Do you see Milan with 5 stars? No. Do you see Real Madrid with 9? No.
Rangers stars are for a world record, Celtic's is to soothe an inferiority complex.

Please do not comprare Rangers to the likes of Milan and Real. You will only make yourself look extremely silly. The scottish league is a joke and the rest of Europe doesn't take it seriously.

the shirt in the first picture is different from the one they is wearing.. compare the ending color in the both short sleeves..
once its green then its white.. as well as the sponsor it varies in size so probably it was photoshoped in one of them

I love the new kit really happy it has a collar, will definetly be getting it.The new GK is a cracker aswell. Only thing i dont like is the red T on the shorts, red shouldnt be anywhere near a celtic kit.

About the stars,id much rather have 1 representing a european cup win than 5 for league wins, what other club has stars for league wins? Every other team i can think of has them showing european cup wins.

Aye,the red t aint on the shorts on the official celtic store so no worries there.Taps ok,only so much you can do with the hoops so variation year on year is minimum.
To all the manky bastards commenting on our top,[censored] off. You's will be lucky if you's have 11 dafties tae wear your shity tap next season at this rate.

You do know that one star is for the European Cup Celtic won. I'd take that one star ahead of any other numerous ones 8)

Mr Hammerstein it was infact Liverpool who sung you will never walk alone first. So don't talk shite. Your team steals alot of things of other clubs.

Anyway. The shirts ok. Typical Celtic top. But as said before what can you do with a Celtic top? Nothing. Traditionally green and White hoops it will stay that way.

Adambhoy. Your club won the European cup in 1967 a year that the European cup consisted of a straight knock out system. How many rounds was there? About 3. Easy route if you ask me. I don't support any of the old firm teams. But I know my history. Were rangers not cheated out of the champions league semi finals at one point? Marseille was it who were later found of match fixing and had the cup taken off them?Celtic fans just like England fans but worse.

New tops look nice but very poor quality.

Bought full kits for my two lads and as soon as we got them home noticed pulls in the material, along with fraying and bobbling. What a joke!!!

Got them changed with no problems but replacements have went the same way.

Contacted CFC and they offered to exchange them again, not sure if it is worth it, lets home Nike get act together and use better material. Do they not test the materials before using them??

Any one else experience this??
